My hair is extremely thick and I've had so many other experiences where people ruin my hair because they don't know how to cut it. For the first time I am coming back to a salon. I had Ahmed and he is extremely skilled, professional, and very kind. He made me feel incredibly welcomed and he listened to me and even working with such a bad haircut I had grown out previously still gave me exactly what I wanted. Ahmed you found yourself a lifetime customer! Thank you so much

It take 5 hours to destroy my hair. It cut my hair more I expected. It do not cut my hair with the style I want. It dyed my hair bad I have a blond hair at top and dark in the end. The lady who do my hair was so nice I give a start for that she is very cool and respectful. There is the story: The appointment was for 3:00pm to 5:30pm, she was working in my hair until 8:00 pm.

So much time. I was expecting a great and amazing work. She cut my hair more that I want and she said because the end was need it but she never mentioned that. I let my hair grow about two years and my hair was under my back. Very common said that in the las moment. Ok no problem is already done. I asked for layers and I never ask for "V" shape. She cut my hair in a V shape.

Of course, you release when she already cut. The layer are no so many layer that I was expecting. I showed a photo before how I want my hair and how should be the layer. She try to fix it. But no good enough. Nothing I can do just wait for it grow and try again. I asked do two strips highline and the lines she said will no be perfect this time but I can come back.

When ended she told me I need go back to fix hair in 3 days and will be $180.00 to dyed two strips. I already paid $220.00 for a job I did not like it. The staff and people around there are so cool and friendly. But the job what is the important was not what I expected. I also add here the expectation do not committed.

Whoever is new to Atlanta or is looking for a professional hairstylist, you came to the right place! I was in need of a major change so I called Junko Hair Studio the day of and thankfully, they took me in last minute. My hair stylist, Ahmed, was truly god sent. All I had to do was show him a photo of the hairstyle I wanted and he not only perfected it but made me feel more confident. I've had long hair basically my whole life so it was a major change to go from that to a Bob style haircut. Ahmed truly exceeded my expectations and I also had the best conversations with him.

Came to Junko Hair Studio with my girlfriend. We had Vikki as our stylist and she was amazing throughout the entire process. She started out by really understanding my hair and how it would suit me best and made great conversation throughout. She also made sure to explain what products I'd need to best suit my style and what each product did. She did an amazing job on my girlfriend's hair as well: had an amazing end result. For women's haircut, the price is great for the quality. For a simple men's haircut like mine, a bit overpriced as I keep my hair very simple.

I loved my new hair cut by Ahmed. I drove from Columbia, SC just for good cut after reading good reviews for Ahmed. I made the best decision, it seems now. I have thin and dry hair and he magically made it look think/ fluffy and shiny. Also, he did not insist on buying products like other upscale salons. I waited for few days before writing a review just to see what my family and friends have to say about it. I got so many compliments from so many people. Thank you Ahmed.

Japanese thermal conditioning/ straightening! Wow such a great process and faster than I thought It would take for me. I can't praise Mrs. Akemi enough for her skill in this area. I am mixed and have 3B/C hair but it is not an even thickness all throughout my head so she was wise enough to notice that and adjust her technique accordingly. She had to leave it on a shorter time with the thinner hair and longer time with the thicker hair. Very amazing experience go and get it done! Thank you Junko!

I recently moved to Atlanta and was in need of a hair cut. Since this salon had great reviews I decided to book an appointment for a hair cut with David and he did not disappoint! He did exactly what I asked for and I love how my hair looks! I will definitely be back! 10/10

I went to Nikia to get my hair cut much shorter with bangs, and was very nervous going into it because I have a hair type between curly and wavy but she did AMAZING. The layers were fantastic, the bangs sit perfectly on my face, and the whole cut has a lot more volume. She took a lot of extra time to make sure everything was even and was shaped well. Could not have asked for a better haircut!

Came to Junko Salon looking to get a transformation and thats exactly what I got. Kai was so friendly and sweet. She took her time to listen to me and make sure she understood what I was looking for. She was super professional and did an amazing job with my hair. I had a great experience and for sure will return.

This place is amazing. My hair need a color correction and a new cut. David spent so much time and dedication on me. I could instantly tell he was ridiculously talented and had so much expertise with hair. I haven't been to a salon in years but I instantly trusted David. As he worked on me I saw the other hair stylists work on other clients and they all did beautiful cuts and colors! I seriously cannot recommend this place enough and I cannot sing David's praises enough! This is my forever salon now!

Service was friendly, however by perm was a bust. It fell out in a week. Now my hair is damaged and have to go elsewhere to fix it. They called me for feedback and Inlet them know of the situation but never heard back sadly. Why bother asking? If anything don't get you hair permed here or you'll be out 200 bucks

Going to a new salon is always a scary part of adult life. That being said, Akemi and the folks at Junko make it so you feel right at home. Akemi was fantastic. She knew exactly how I wanted my hair cut and even went on to explain certain things about my hair to me. I am very glad to have found this salon, and I am certainly glad to finally have found a salon to call mine. No more stressing over where to go for my hair.

If you need a haircut, stylist Kai is the go to person! My wife and I needed a haircut before our wedding. Our hair had some split-ends, and it was getting too long. She did a wonderful job with our hair. We're definitely coming back for haircuts again in the future!

I spent $400 for a keratin treatment 4 months ago. Right after the treatment, the hair looked great. However, in 3 days, with the first hair wash, all the straightened hair disappeared and my hair was back to before. I had to call in and spend another $50 to get hair retouched but nothing lasted more than 2 weeks. $450 dollars were completed wasted. Would never go back again except they give me money back.

This was my first time going to Junko Hair Studio and David did an amazing job! He totally understood what I wanted and I'm very happy with how my hair turned out. I have super thick and long hair (it's literally past my butt) and he did a great job handling it. I asked for a long wolf cut with curtain bangs and he gave me just what I wanted :)

Last week I scheduled an appointment with hair stylist Aisha at Junko Hair Studio to touch up the color on my eyebrows, and she did an amazing job. She assessed my needs quickly and thoughtfully, suggested the perfect color to match my existing hair style, and even touched up my sideburns for a small additional charge. I was wanting to get this done in preparation for a short trip out of town, and Aisha's skill and professionalism helped to boost my confidence, aura, and peace of mind. As a result I would recommend Aisha to anyone getting ready for a big event. Bravo.

Akemi was my hair stylist and she was wonderful. All questions were answered and she provided suggestions for my comb over. Would definitely recommend and come again.

This place is wonderful. Everyone was very nice, but Akemi, who did my hair, was fantastic. I got the Japanese Straightening treatment. I was very nervous about this process after working so hard to grow out my natural hair and being skeptical about relaxers. But I did a ton of research into my options before being hasty and found this treatment. I saw nothing but positive results as long as it was done professionally.

When she finished I was stunned at how gorgeous my hair was! Akemi was easy to talk to, she was friendly and went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable. Everyone inside greeted me when I came in too, which was nice. I felt welcomed. I will only go to her from now on to get this treatment when I need touch-ups. Today was my third day post-treatment and I can't believe how easy it was to care for my hair, no damage to it and no damage during the washing/conditioning/blow-drying process.

My hair looked flawless after taking some simple steps and feels strong and healthy. I not only highly recommend the treatment, but also Junko Hair Studio and Akemi. Thank you for this life-changing experience :

I came into the salon to get my hair braided. I'm very cautious on who gets to do my hair because I've had bad experiences before. Upon arrival I was greeted by the staff. I sat down with Nikia (Lavv) she was very charismatic, and highly professional she made the experience so pleasant. Our conversation were so natural that she made going to her fun.

I really appreciate the work she did. She took care of my hair and recommended I get my hair trimmed. I'm tender headed but I didn't feel any pain while she did my hair. I love it I'll be back!

I highly recommend Akemi if you are thinking about getting a Japanese straightening treatment. I traveled from Charlotte, NC, which is 9 hours round trip, to get my straightening treatment. It was totally worth the time and effort. Akemi is amazing. She explained every step she made in the process since it was my first time receiving the treatment.

She also took great care to analyze my hair to determine the best treatment to use on my hair. I absolutely love my hair and it looks even more healthy now. Akemi is definitely worth the drive.

I got my hair cut last week by Akemi! She was super nice and professional during my time there. I was a little nervous because I had wanted to cut off most of my hair and get a bob (I usually have medium to long hair). Akemi cut my hair beautifully and I have no regrets. Highly recommend Kimi at this Salon. I have rigid, rough and curly hair, and numerous hair stylists failed to do Japanese perm correctly for my hair - it is very tough to be softened and the experience to determine how long and how much the soften time is very essential. But Kimi is highly experienced in this. and more importantly, she is very detail oriented and patient - would apply the solution evenly layer after layer to ensure each and every string of my hair is covered.

David cut my daughter Brooklyn's hair and we both love it! I was nervous for her to make such a big change to her hair but she is really pulling it off and enjoyed working with David a lot. I took Mary up on her offer to have my cut fixed. I saw David yesterday. He did an amazing job. My hair looks great and he was able to clean up the prior cut without removing too much length. I'm considering seeing him regularly given how close the salon is to my home.

Thyra was awesome. My hair is very processed so I thought a lot of length would need to come off, but she only took a couple of inches, and it made a world of difference!

This is absolutely the best visit to a salon for me. The stylist Kai she is fantastic. I didn't even know what I wanted, for some reason she knows exactly what I want. She did natural balayage and a hair cut for me. Now I feel so pretty. Thank you so much Kai, now you are the stylist that I will go back to for life and I definitely recommend Kai to anybody. I had a wonderful experience with Thyra! I'm new to Atlanta area and wanted to find a salon that gives a quality cut and style. Junko was IT! Thyra was so sweet and meticulous with my cut and explained everything she was doing as she was doing it. The blowout at the end was GORGEOUS! I received tons of compliments throughout the day! My favorite part of the whole experience was the diversity throughout the salon.

As a multiracial woman, I was thrilled to see stylists working with so many different types of hair with so many different demands. I will definitely be going back for my next cut

I wanted to share my experience with the Japanese straightening. There are many good reviews here but there is also a chance your hair won't be smooth and soft and you'll regret the procedure. My hair is now stiff and doesn't fall or move naturally. It is also frizzy in some parts. My hair looked better and was easier to style before I spent four hours of time and $500.

I am not sure why the treatment turned out badly. The stylist was Milbon certified. I noticed she was careful to monitor the time the chemical was left on the hair and was careful to measure growth since my last treatment, so as not to re-treat older hair. I am not sure if it was the technique or choice of chemical strength. The last time I had the treatment was a year and half ago at a salon in NY with good results. --- Thank you, Mary, for your prompt response. I'm doing a lot of deep conditioning but once hair has been chemically changed, there is no way fix it, it just has to grow out. I just wanted to provide this feedback because the reviews don't give the picture of my experience with the Japanese Thermal Reconditioning at Junko.

It's always a little nerve-wracking to try a new salon, but I was unhappy with my previous one. I was finally ready to chop off my quarantine hair and was seeking someone that worked with wavy Asian hair. I made my appointment via Yelp and Junko Hair responded right away with plenty of appt. options. When they said I had Steven, I tried to look him up but didn't see him as a stylist on their website or any relevant reviews.

I went anyway and hoped for the best. Dude, Steven is SO NICE. He just moved back to GA and started at the salon so that's why there weren't any recent feedback that I could find. If you look on their IG now, you can see his work though. He cut off all my hair and gave me a great chin level bob. Somehow his cut even made my at home hair dye job look better?!

We both were like, that's weird. LOL! Anyway, enjoyed the whole experience and chatting with him. I plan to go back for a haircut (want to keep it short) and dye my hair when the weather warms up.

I am a last minute "I need a haircut" kind of person. So I scheduled a haircut online (which is such a great option to have!) and I picked first available, and they gave me two options, one of them was David. Let me tell you how David is amazing! He took his time making sure my curly hair had the right cut. I don't believe I ever had a cut with such precision and care. But that's not when my love for David started. It all started with the way he washed my hair. TL:DR: got a last minute haircut with David and I'm now in love.

UPDATE: I was able to get in a couple days later & am very happy to say my hair is fixed. I saw David and cannot say enough good things about him. He made me feel so comfortable and talked me through every step. If you book here, absolutely ask for David, he is a miracle worker! Feeling very frustrated after my haircut with Ahmed a couple days ago.

I asked for some flowy layers and to keep as much length as possible. After washing my hair and styling on my own, I realized that it was completely uneven on either side and the layers were super choppy and not blended at all. I'm not a hair expert, but I like to think I know if it's a good or a bad haircut. I did call the studio & they scheduled me for a fix. However, in order to get a fix, they require you see the same stylist (which for me, is frustrating because it was already messed up once, so what if it happens again?). I'm sure most of the time, their work is beautiful, but unfortunately, the price for the quality of work just isn't worth it here. Now I'm out a good chunk of money for a haircut that's left me in tears.

Kay was awesome! I had one of those life altering haircuts today! She listened to my concerns ( I'm losing hair on a side :/, my undercut grew out, and I prefer not to use direct heat and wear my hair curly). Her attention to detail was great! Even cutting the side I'm going to tuck behind my ear at a slight angle so it'll look cuter :) And her enthusiasm for my big chop was great too!

July 2020 - I liked my cut by Akemi today. She responded to my hair care questions. The staff and clients wore masks and clients were adequately distanced from one another. The salon is clean and we were offered gloves and hand sanitizer. They took my temperature and asked me to complete/sign a Covid-19 questionnaire before beginning service. I felt like they were taking adequate precautions for everyone. I was in and out like the others.

So this quarantine look was so good I had to screen grab the photo. David seriously worked a miracle. I got quarantine crazy with some bleach and messed my whole head up. David swooped in on wings of gold and saved my head and my sanity. He is a color genius and helped me step out the box to do some fun, wild colors. He does beautiful work and will take AMAZING care of you!

I was looking for a place close by that would cut my long hair on short notice. I was hoping for a same-day haircut. Junko came up first on the Yelp list with great ratings and fast response time for Yelp msgs. So I sent a few msgs back and forth about what I was looking for and they responded right away! I got David for a simple cut appointment. David is awesome, very good customer service, knew immediately what I was talking about, and gave me a haircut and blowout.

It looks way better than I had imagined. I would recommend him to anyone because he has experience and is creative. He cares about style! I liked the professional environment and staff too. Thanks!
