Kate is amazing. She welcomes you not only as a client, but as a friend. Her expertise goes beyond hair cutting, as she is able to advise with a sense of the whole person. I have naturally curly hair, and no one has ever achieved what Kate was able to do; nor has anyone ever taken the time that Kate did to help me learn about my hair and its care. She's an artist. Thank you, Kate, for your time and talent.

Chloe is incredible. She has impeccable attention to detail, is extremely knowledgeable, and has the most caring and genuine personality! My keratin treatment came out flawlessly and I'm so happy I found a hair stylist close to my new home!

I've come to Salon Space just a couple of times when I am in town but have always had great experiences here. I booked a last minute haircut with Chloe and she was great. Really took her time on the cut to make it perfect (I went from long locks to a bob) along with the beautiful blowout. The salon itself is a beautiful space, I love the products they carry (davinas) and the prices are great. Cant recommend this place enough.

I had my first hair cut at Salon Space tonight. It was with the owner, and I was very nervous. I have been going to the same wonderful stylist for years, and he had always made my perfectly lousy hair looked stylish. I figured once he retired there was no one who could replace him. But Kate Cronin could and did. She is fabulous (and even has a sense of humor!).

She can make even bad hair look good, so just imagine what she can do for anyone with lush locks. And they even gave me wonderful first time guest presents! My hair has found a new home.

I got my hair cut for the first time at Salon Space yesterday and couldn't believe how incredible my hair looked. I went in not really knowing what I wanted done, something different but not too different. Chloe somehow was able to figure out exactly what I wanted, she's amazing! I'm so happy with my new cut and can't wait to show it off.

I walked in with a general idea in mind for a cut but wasn't really sure how to ask for it. Kate was super easy to talk to and really understood what needed to be done to get the look I was after. Overall a top notch experience and I am very grateful for the attention to detail that Kate demonstrated. As a guy I'm not used to getting my hair washed before a cut but 10/10 would do again! Gisella (sp?) was phenomenal! I will definitely be coming back and highly recommend this place for anyone and everyone. Very professional and I left with my expectations surpassed.

We are super picky with our hair and my 16 yr old daughter was ready for a big change with her super long hair going much shorter. I combed Google looking at places near us and reading reviews. I eventually found Salon Space and read Chloe's bio. She sounded like a perfect fit for a 16 yr old who was seeking a trendy style. I am happy to say that Chloe really was the perfect fit.

My daughter loved Chloe and really liked how she took the time to explain and show her how to style her new hair. I knew we had found a winner when I kept seeing my daughter smiling at herself in the mirror.and this was before it was even styled lol. She has gotten so many compliments on it since leaving the salon and we are so grateful that we were lucky enough to find Chloe!

I followed Chloe here from her previous salon and she is just amazing! She always listens to what I'm looking for and we always come up with some great ideas, but every single time I'm even more impressed with how my hair turns out. It's always better than I could have imagined! Salon Space is wonderful. The owner is super nice and everyone is friendly and the whole space is warm and inviting. It's always worth the 40 minute drive for me.

Just amazing experience. Everyone was so nice and welcoming- unusual in many salons. Nichole had her hands full with my " mop" of hair which is EXTREMELY thick - she did an amazing job and actually, Kate the owner helped in trimming of my locks it was a group effort and the results were nothing short of amazing. Highly recommend if you want caring, highly trained and friendly stylists who actually really like each other it is a definite WOW.

This is an excellent, wonderful hair salon! I've been twice and both times the best haircut ever. I'm older yet they gave my hair the proper attention and cut I ever got. The products they sell really work. There knowledge and skill and design ability are perfect.

Salon Space is wonderful and all the staff are lovely. My husband and I have been twice now, we have had Kate the owner/master, cut our hair and color mine and let me tell you, Kate is brilliant, a true creative gift and attention to detail. You would not regret it. Kate is certainly not cheap but excellent in skill, gifting and talent plus she has a great personality and very funny, which makes for a very fun experience, love it and love her, she is amazing. We highly recommend Kate and Salon Space.

I had the worst experience at this salon. I am not the type of person that comes online and bashes a company but this has just gone too far. I got recommended to this salon by a friend, I was told about the Wednesday deal and figured I would give it a try since I'm a college student and I am on a budget and i hoped that it would've worked out for me like it did for my friend but that wasn't the case.

I got scammed. To make a long story short I wanted my hair to match my roots and at the end of the day I walked out with 4/5 bright orange/red stripes across the back of my head which i didn't realize till I got home. So basically I paid $100 for a disaster and no one was able to do anything about it after I contacted them multiple times. I had to go and spend an additional $200 to get my hair fixed at another salon. I've learned that quality is worth the price so if quality is what you are looking for I would not recommend Salon Space!

I absolutely loved Salon Space! Everyone who works there is lovely, professional, and gives you exactly what you want, or better. I had Alexis do my Ombre and another girl do my haircut. They were both wonderful and knew what they were doing. I will never go back to another salon because I am so happy with this one.

Kate is great. I am very happy with my cut and color. Staff is welcoming and knowing. I've been everywhere in the last 15 years.this is a keeper.

I was surprised to see Salon Space only gets 3 stars on Yelp and decided that this must be rectified. Pronto. Even though popularity might mean that it'll be harder for me to get appointment, I'd really rather Kate (the owner) has a busy salon than not. These are why I *heart* Salon Space: - Kate knows how to deal with Asian hair (Note: I actually don't know how it physically differs from Caucasian hair, but have observed that not every hairdresser knows how to deal with Asian hair, resulting in over-puffy, mushroomy top) - I can specify my requirements (e.g. low maintenance, stylish haircut that matches my active lifestyle and personality) and Kate gives her recommendation - I get more than just a hair cut: I actually get a hair style.

I regularly get compliments from my coworkers the day after I get my haircut. Until now, I'm still thanking my friend who referred me to Salon Space because it is such a gem. Not only is it a nice, relaxing space, everyone there is so friendly and accommodating. I've told myself that for as long as I live in the eastern seaboard, I'm not going to other place.

Wow. What can I say? I was in here about a year and a half ago because my regular hair salon couldn't take me in last minute. I know for sure I had gotten a "newbie" hairdresser. She was quiet and sweet and pretty of course, but it took a little over 2 hours for my haircut. I wanted to run out of the chair I was sitting for so long! She washed my hair too delicately where I couldn't even feel any suds touching my scalp- pretty much just the exterior layers of my hair got cleansed and conditioned.

My comb out was brutal- I even offered to help comb it out. I have curly hair but she wasn't putting any effort into it to untangle. It was almost scary the way she seemed like she needed to think about what she was doing before she used the shears on my locks. The the longest blow dry ever. It was an aggravatingly long experience and don't want to have to go through that again. It's funky in there though. I like the look of the place.

This is definitely a great salon. I love the atmosphere and each time I go it is a great experience. My stylist Amanda G. is awesome. She listens to what I want and is great at mens cuts. I'm happy I finally found a stylist and a salon that I can count on and always be pleased with.

I used to go to a barber to get my cut. I met the owner while out one day and figured I'd give it a shot. As a man I felt a little weird the first time I went because the whole salon idea was new to me. This was over three years ago and I've been a regular since. The staff is friendly and helpful. I pay twice what I used to and it's worth every penny. Thank you salon space.

KateYoung the owner is as good as they get. I never leave an unhappy customer. I have very fine hair. I have always had my hair cut with short layers on the top since I wanted volume. Kate made my layers grow out longer and with her special technique puts a lot of texture in my hair so that I am able to get the volume I need. Kate is passionate about what she does.

I have also observed Kate teaching her staff which is a big plus. I feel that if Kate ever went on vacation and I needed a cut in a pinch her staff would do as good as Kate would.

I can't say enough about Salon Space, first the decor is fabulous, very chic! I love, love, love the rinsing station chairs, absolutely relaxing! My hair has never looked more fabulous, the color, the cut are always perfect! I have been a client since Salon Space opened and I will never go anywhere else. The staff is fantastic, professional and friendly, not to mention in tune with the latest trends and styles.

The salon offers so much more too, an in house photography studio and they are always throwing fabulous events. If you want fabulous hair, then do yourself a favor and check out Salon Space! You won't be disappointed.

As a not so new resident to New Haven (almost 3 years now). I still found myself waiting until a trip back home to get a hair cut. Sad & even laugh worthy I know. still, everyone has their things & a salon / quality hair stylist is one of mine. I ventured out a bit to North Haven & found the haircut & quality I have been searching for since my relocation to the Nutmeg state. Salon space is a newer salon that offers all you would expect & more.

Not only did I get the best haircut I've had in years from the owner/stylist named Kate (who I may add made my experience) BUT the salon doubles as a photography studio! For special events or even just for fun, there could be no better pairing. My experiences here have been personal. The services, exceptional quality & priced just right. I have found my new spot & recommend it to anyone male or female, looking for the same.
