I've been tanning here for years never had a issue until I tried to down grade my level and the kept charging me for level 4 asked to speak to someone they said they were the owner but said I didn't need to know their name was extremely rude said he wasn't refunding me Any money I said that I would appreciate if he did for the misunderstanding of HIS employees and he told me if he heard another word out of my mouth he'd ban me from tanning! I couldn't believe how he runs this business! Make sure your careful if you get a membership here!

DO NOT GO TO THE WAX CENTER! It is a waste of money. I usually have to get my legs waxed every four weeks but it has only been one and it doesn't even look like I got them done. She did not wax remove the strip from my leg properly which resulted in the hair follicle being snapped and not removed ( similar results to shaving) and an great deal of pain. The tank g salon portion is clean but I would not recommend the wax cent to anyone.

I stop in this location occasionally - their beds seem older than other locations. The level 3 bed is lame and looks about 25 years old. I do think it's cool that they have a wax center, but I've never used it. In general, just prefer other locations (Rocky Hill, Wallingford) as equipment seems more up to date.

I visit here regularly, multiple times per week. Nothing good with this location at all. Staff is very inattentive and lackadaisical, and their attire is atrocious! No professionalism at all, no company shirts or anything. They're half dressed wearing whatever the feel like, showing parts they shouldn't like it's a gentleman's club or something.
If you have a question, you'll have to wait because typically they're on their cellphones whining about customers or how tired they are instead of cleaning the place, which is becoming a much more serious issue by the day. The tanning beds are obviously "cleaned" with dirty old saturated towels, if they're done at all, leaving other patron's grease & grime for the next customer to clean up.
I recommend bringing your own supply of Clorox wipes and a clean towel, because they usually don't have much available for you to do their job for them. Sometimes you can even find someone's personal garbage under a machine. disgusting things you truly don't want to find, that I don't dare mention here. For the money you shell out to be a monthly member, I'd expect it to be spotless. Instead, you feel like you need to hurry home and take a shower after being here. Someone needs to train these people how to clean. Better yet, hire new people who can! Who runs this place anyway? Pigpen from Charlie Brown?

I really love coming to Tommy's Tanning! Their Southington location is always very clean and the staff are always very friendly. I usually come here for spray tanning any options and great quality but I just recently used their waxing service and had an equally excellent experience! I had a Brazilian wax and the esthetician was beyond professional and made me feel very comfortable! They use hard wax so there was very little pain and the price was unbearable. I went in last Tuesday to see what my options were and to speak to someone regarding my upcoming tan. The girl I spoke to Tuesday was wonderful. Informative and everything. She advised me to go back on Friday for the spray tan as I had a wedding today (Sunday). That is exactly what I did. I took Friday off to be able to go since I was told I couldn't sweat or anything or wear deodorant.
When I walked in there was a girl at the front desk. Very rude. She was actually doing someone's hair as I walked in. She asked for my name and I said this was my first time here and I needed my first spray tan. She gave me a form to fill out and continued to do some other girls hair behind the counter. When I was finished she asked me if I wanted the clear coat or the one with the bronzer in it.
I didn't even get a chance to answer and she said well it's hot out so do the clear. I wanted to ask questions but I wasn't given the chance. She lead me into the room and told me what to do. She ran through the positions quickly and as I wanted to ask some questions. She left the room. I did th instructions she gave me and went in.
Since it was the clear spray I couldn't see any results. As I left she told me not to shower for 4-6 hours and not to sweat. So I came home and stayed in my AC for the night. About 7 hours later I saw little to no difference. I began to wonder what was going on. I took a shower to see if that would help. Nope! It didn't. I went to bed thinking the next morning I would wake up with color.
Not really. I had a patch on my arm that looked craZy. My coworker saw it and asked what was wrong with my arm. I looked. I was a bronze and orange color. Then I started to look at other parts of my body. I had splotches all over. It was a mess. I called and the girl was pleasant at first but as I explained my situation she got an attitude. I'm thinking it was the girl that I dealt with on Friday.
She told me nothing they could do and to call the head office number on Monday and hung up. No apology no nothing. I will NEVER go back again. And today (Sunday) the day of the wedding I had to go to a different salon to have this fixed. Unbelievable.

Super impressed with the knowledge and helpful advice when asking about a lotion purchase. Sam went out of her way to describe and answer all of my questions before deciding on the new "islim" accelerator. I tend to be an indecisive person but she nailed it & I was sold within 2 minutes. Not to mention I absolutely loved it after using! Thanks so much Sam! You are the best. Such a cheerful personality. Definitely good at what she does.

After having a poor experience at the Rocky Hill location, a friend recommended to me this one in Southington and I'm so happy she did! The staff was friendly and helpful and polite which was a nice surprise after my experience at the different location. Even though it's a chain, all locations are so different and I'm so happy I found one with great staff and great customer service. Thanks!

The salon isn't very clean, the spray booth had used lotion all over it. The start button had a lotion hand print over it, used paper towels overflowing the garbage and spilling onto the floor, and dirty cloth towels unfolded on the table. I didn't even bother telling the receptionist, it seems that any dialogue actually burdened her. She wouldn't even look up or make eye contact when you walk in the door or the entire time she's checking you in. She clearly does not want to be there.

Terrible customer service. Eating a grinder while taking my payment. Not at all helpful with package options. Then the bed never starts, after waiting 8min and not being sure what to do. I call the front desk form my cell phone. She sounded aggravated with me (like it was somehow my fault) and never apologized. I won't be going back!
