Had my haircut here for the first time and I'm really happy with the results. I believe my stylist's name was Jean and she was wonderful. I will definitely be coming back.

Hair stylist Jean did a fantastic job on my hair. She listened really worked to getting the color I wanted while also focusing on maintaining healthy hair. She is easy to talk to and a warm and friendly soul. Highly recommend!

The staff are hospitable and professional. They are all amazing at what they do. The salon itself is gorgeous and the environment is upbeat and casual. You won't regret making an appointment here.

I don't want to go anywhere else to get my nails done now. I feel like nail salons can be crowded and chaotic, but this was a peaceful experience. Terra the nail technician took her time and did a neat job. I really enjoyed the warm exfoliating scrub that came with the 'spa pedicure.' I've also had my hair cut here in the past and thought they did a good job for a reasonable price. All the folks I've met who work here are super nice, the space is beautiful (clean, well-lit), and they offer a wide range of spa services. Great spot.

He is the utmost professional! He always calls ahead to confirm and his work is exactly what you ask to get. His environment is chill and relaxed. I'm happy I found him!

I've never had a nail salon take more time with making sure my nails look perfect then when I went here. She was so nice and professional and took her time and make sure that my nails look the best they could be. I will definitely be coming back!

I've only been to the Salon to have my nails done by Terra, but I love her, her work and that it is by appointment only. I've been so pleased with her work that I continue to go back every 2-3 weeks.

Review for nail area only:. The nail station is on the third floor with the massage beds. The first and second floors are hair stations, but everything is open and airy. Tera is the nail tech and you can book her online at Style Seat. I think she's been working here 10+ years. She's very nice, talkative and excellent at her job. I've had both pedicures, gel nails and acrylic dip nails. I bring my own polish, but their selection is decent.

My 1st impression wasn't good decided to come back that wasn't good either, decided to find another place.

I hate how I always find the best businesses in other cities because I don't live close enough to be a regular! J. Arthur Salon is no different but more specifically Terra who did my nails. She was great! Our first time meeting but she quickly made me feel like an old friend. We chatted it up about the wedding I was in town for among other things.

Not only was she great company but she did a fantastic job on my nails and toes. The salon is chic yet inviting as well. The jazz that played through the sound system added a relaxing vibe in combination with the loads of sunlight and fresh air that comes through. If you live in the area; do yourself a favor and become a regular.

I was looking for a good place to get a mani pedi downtown (there are very few options), and decided to try this out. Terra was an absolute professional and so sweet! Her work on my gel mani and pedicure is perfection, too. I would highly recommend her to anyone!

Went to this salon for the first time by recommendation of a friend. It was a great experience. Very professional and a nice layout. Tawanda was my stylist and she did a wonderful job on my cut and style. I was 100% satisfied. I have been in STL for three years and this has been by far one of the best stylists I have been to here. Be sure to ask for Tawanda, she even accommodated me after a fluke with setting up my appointment on Style Seat online. Great stylist and a great location!

I was going to a wedding and decided at the last minute I didn't like the way I had did my hair so I called for an appointment. Stylist, Tawanda called me back to make sure I knew where I was coming, I was 2 minutes away and still on time. She had the chair ready for me. This is so very important to me because I had a stylist once who can do some banging hair but had no concept of your time.

Me and my sister had been scoping her Instagram page for awhile now and had gathered some styles we liked. I showed them to her and wha-la she came through big time. I and everybody loved my hair. This one lady kept complimenting me on my hair (at the wedding reception), she asked could she take a picture of me to show her daughter because she said my hair looked so beautiful.

To add I noticed she used quality products, not that cheap stuff and she cares about the health of hair. What a combination! Very nice atmosphere and clean. The compliments continued at work, now I'm wondering do I have to keep this up now? I was getting it done for the wedding but I like the way I feel when my hair looks good so I'll be back.

The best newly kept secret of Lafayette Square is J Arthur's Salon. Not only is Tawanda a phenomenal stylist, so is the owner! After my hair was styled, it had already started to rain that day. The OWNER offered to walk me to my car with a sizable umbrella to preserve my hair from the rain. He walked me to my car, and I have never seen that level of customer service in the City of St. Louis.

When I first walked in, I was greeted by a smile from the owner who politely offered refreshments. It was a comfortably multicultural environment, with professionals from all walks of life. My first appointment there was splendid. Tawanda, once again, did a great job on my hair, and she still gives customized treatment to my hair. It is all-around a great establishment which caters to everyone with a rare and a refreshing customer hospitality. I will definitely be a returning customer.

The people at J Arthur couldn't be nicer! I came here for the first time to get my nails done - just a nice OPI manicure - and they did a fantastic job. I think it was Terra but I sort of forget her name - anyway she was pleasant to talk with and did a great job on my nails. At the same time I was upstairs getting my nails done, my husband was downstairs getting a haircut with Jean.

He loves Jean - she gave him a great cut and blended his sides better than anyone else ever has! And lucky for me, she also suggested that she trim his eyebrows! I can never get him to let me do that so thanks for the extra man-scaping, Jean! Bottom line is you can't go wrong at this place.

I have been going here for my nails and brow waxes for over a year. Terra does a beautiful and meticulous job every time. Services are affordable and everyone here is warm and welcoming.
