Not really worth the price. i'm all for paying good money for a nice haircut, but both recent cuts have not been good. Nice place, friendly people and good care, but stylists do not perform. Not too interested to go in and see if the 3rd time's the charm.

I always go here to get the top of my head styled proper like! I am losing my hair, so I go here to give it a good good time. The stylists are at the top of the game! You can get a soda, a beer, a coffee, or a nice mixed drink while you wait. All in all one of the best places to chop your locks!

I've been going to the same barber for the last 30+ years but traveling in WI, I had to get my hair cut. You would think a buzz cut would be fairly easy but it takes skill and I have to say Mahala cut my hair possibly even better than my hometown stylist. (I'm not going to tell him, though.) I'm very pleased and definitely recommend giving her an opportunity to take care of your hair needs.

Theri took care of me. I was in town on business and needed a quick cut. They were fully-booked, but she found a way to work me in. Excellent cut. The most attention to the details I've ever seen. Very professional. I wish we had a shop like this close to home!

I have been going to Groom for nearly 8 years and getting my haircut by Carly for 6.5 years now. Being that I have alopecia, cutting my hair can be a little tricky. Sometimes I have big spots, sometimes I have little spots and it is something I have truly struggled with my entire life (since about 5 years old). No matter what my current situation is, Carly is able to give me a fresh cut and help me keep confidence within myself (and my head). Carly is the best and worth every single penny that I've spent at Groom. Oh, and they give you beer and all that stuff, but most importantly you're going to get the best haircut and best customer service Milwaukee has to offer in a haircut. You're the #1 homie Carly and the rest of y'all at Groom.

I have been cutting my own hair my entire life, and it was my first time going to a professional to cut my hair. I had no idea what I wanted or what would look good, but Melissa did a fantastic job of working around my uncertainty and provided a wonderful haircut. I look and feel wonderful after my visit and I will certainly be back again for another cut from Melissa.

I'm a recent L.A. transplant and kinda picky about who cuts my hair, so I gotta say that Theri is an amazing talent and a fantastic person who really knows her stuff and cares about getting it right the first time. No need to look further guys, really!

Always happy with my experience/haircut. Mariah continues to give me the best haircut I've ever had. I've tried other stylists at other places when she is unavailable and I always regret it when I do. She has exceptional skills fading and I've yet to have a bad haircut in the two years I've been going to her. Great place/staff and the price is definitely worth the superior cut and experience.

They have gave me the best haircut I have ever had recently. I love this location and the atmosphere here. The stylist I go to is amazing. She has a way about her that is magical. She makes me feel calm when normally I am at a 100 she sets me down to 5. This will be the only place I go to get my haircut and by this stylist. I pray to our good Lord that she becomes so successful and all her dreams come true. You have a lifetime customer.

WOW! So I booked a haircut and beard trim as a surprise for my babe (who was feeling extra down after accidentally poking his eye while doing housework and ended up with a nasty corneal abrasion that derailed our weekend plans) all via email and Anna was super quick and responsive. She was detailed enough to make sure my phone number was on the confirmation alerts so that the surprise wasn't blown early. Walking into the shop - he literally gasped.

I think the nicest place he'd ever gotten a haircut was a "if you pay cash it's only $8" joints. He also has never had a professional beard trim. let alone the scalp massage, purple shampoo, hot towel, facial mist, moisturizer. LOL. It was done so well and no so over the top and fussy because obviously it's tailored towards men - but I recognized their full line of Kevin Murphy on the back bar.

He even commented the shampoo smelled familiar - it's what I use at home! His stylist, who I am so upset I can't remember her name, was amazing. Super detailed! Explained everything to him - made sure to ask him a lot of questions. He was in heaven! I sat and waited for him and observed nothing but five star service provided - from the beverage station that was STOCKED to the amazing line of products that was expertly curated.

The balm he was recommended is exactly what suits him and is easy to use (and I can't stop sniffing him!). I wish we lived in MKE - this would 100% his go to spot and I would love to pop in with him just to take in the ambiance! Keep up the amazing work gals!

Look, I was the reluctant man whose wife and three daughters tried to steer to an upscale hair salon just for men. I always wondered how anyone could bother spending more than $10 a haircut at the major haircut chains. Through sheer persistence, my wife walked me into Groom about a year ago and she had ordered that my ears and nose hair all be removed via a waxing and my eyebrows trimmed preceding a great haircut.

About 10 minutes in, I had to be honest with myself. I was getting spoiled and when I walked to my car, I felt like a NEW MAN. Madisen was a recent grad from Beauty School and she takes her job seriously. She is a true professional who is Client centric to say the least. Sure I realize that those Diet cokes or beer in the refrigerator all get generated by healthy profits but life is short and these type of experiences are too few and far between for most men.

I encourage all of those still locked in the mindset of average haircut where you don't even know the name of the person cutting your hair to break out of your rut and give Groom a try. It is good for your career, it is good for your family and your significant other will NOT complain. And request Madisen, she is a pro.

Truly the best place if you are someone who wants the highest quality hair care and grooming. Been going here for 9 years and won't consider anyplace else. Great staff and a vibe you don't get elsewhere! Have a drink while you Groom! Alison, Erica and Theri are tremendous!

The atmosphere is welcoming and comfortable. The staff enjoy providing excellent customer service, which is getting more difficult to find these days. There was no sense of judgement, and the eclectic group of patrons present during my visit were part of the charm! Come in and get pampered a bit. Men deserve to relax too!

Super bummed about spending $50 here to get a haircut that didn't match what I asked for and a cut up neck. I ended up with a haircut that looks good and fine, except that it doesn't align with what I mentioned and showed photos of- specifically wanting the top shorter than usual. The top of my hair wasn't touched, and before I could say anything there was shaving cream on my neck and product in my hair.

I did say that it seemed too long and was told the plus side is that I get to have more haircuts. Nice people but didn't feel like my preference or concerns were of any mind, but getting me out quickly was.

You will not find a better barbershop experience than what Groom delivers every day. The key word above is "experience". Groom does not move you in and out of their chairs like parts on an assembly line. They have cultivated a very unique environment where you feel like you just walked into a room full of great friends, good beer and of course meticulously trained lady barbers at the top of their game. Give Groom a try if you haven't and if you have, I'm sure I'll see you there in the future!

I really enjoy going to Groom to get my hair cut. All of the staff and barbettes are really friendly. They have compliant let drinks during your service as well. The store is also dog friendly, as there always seem to be one or two walking around in the store. The only reason for 4/5 stars is the price of the cuts which can be a bit steep for a haircut. But they do offer free parking right next to the store, which is hard to offer in the third ward.

I've been getting my hair cut at Groom for probably 7 years now, and the one time I went to one of those $15 hair cut places, I regretted it. Crystal is the ONLY person that I'll let cut my hair. I live in Waukesha and work in Brookfield, and still insist on going to Groom. You certainly get what you pay for at Groom. While it may not be "cheap" to get a hair cut here, you should know that when you walk through the door. If you want a quality haircut and style (plus shampoo and shave), Groom is the best. I highly recommend it, and if you can schedule with Crystal - she's the best!

Most expensive and one of the worst cuts I have ever had. Pricing is borderline a robbery and the girl cut a chunk out of the side of my hair. I told her I thought she cut too close and she said that my hair was just thinner in that spot. I know my own hair I see it every fricking morning. The worst part was then giving her $60 for a cut I could have got from a dog groomer. Avoid this place, much better options downtown.

Been going here for years. Followed them through three moves to the 3rd Ward. Gladly stayed with them through the years as my hair needs changed from styling a full head of hair to eliminating hair growing where I don't want it. But, alas their prices have become too high. My last visit I paid $70 plus tip for nose/ear waxing and cleaning up my neck. Aaargh! Tried to raise a WTF with the owner, Theri, through the salon's email, but got no response.

I mentioned my dissatisfaction to the woman who called to confirm my next appointment, which I cancelled. She clearly had no clue on how to handle my concern, so she put me on hold where I sat for a few minutes before I figured out I had hit a dead end. Oh well. time to move on to a new salon. I'm learning that reciprocal customer-business loyalty is a thing of the past.

With a grin and a laugh, I'm going for TMI here. I can't comment on the haircuts given here, as anyone who knows me is aware that I shave my head every few days. Given the cost of a good set of clippers vs the cost of a "professional" head shave. I'm not in that tax bracket. What I do appreciate, however, is their waxing. Now, I'm not a hairy guy by any stretch of the imagination.

I don't have a sweater under my t-shirt, and the backs of my hands don't like Teen Wolf. However, summer weather is shirtless weather, and I like to be a minimalist. The staff here is definitely on the trendy side. I will note that there wasn't a single employee sporting a bad hair style. I had this thing (back when I had my hair like Mark McGrath) about letting anyone bald or with awful styles touch your head. It's just inviting bad karma.

They all looked good in their own ways, and everyone was uber friendly. I didn't partake in the beverage offer but it was a nice touch (yeah, it's a throwaway expense for them, but it elevates the level of their process.smart) and the open air of the place without looking like they were a front for selling Paul Mitchell was welcoming. My back waxing procedure was what you'd expect in process (nothing like the 40 Year Old Virgin) and the waxer (waxist?) was friendly and chatty and warned me that it may hurt (been there, done that) but did a very thorough job.

No burns, bleeds or hurt feelings. If I was a chest-waxing kinda guy, I'd repeat the process. For the $40 plus tip that I spent, it was well worth the time and experience. I'll be back again (once before the summer, once at the tail end). And I highly recommend some of you other guys consider this at least three or four times a year.
