Barney's Brother

My hair looks great, but it always does when I get it cut and styled at Barney's Brother. I continue to recommend them to people.

I am new in town and dreaded looking for a new stylist. I took the suggestion of a family member to go see Joy and boy am I glad I did! I wear my hair short and am super fussy. Joy understood my preferences and I am very happy with the result. I got a great haircut and my eyebrows look amazing. I will definitely be seeing Joy again!

So I get a phone call today from my girlfriend who works inside the US Bank tower. She went inside Barney's to set up an appointment for hair coloring. Well long story short Kip and another woman stylist told my girlfriend that they don't do "black" ppl hair, nor do they do "textured" hair. I'm no stylist but, I do know hair coloring is universal there's no difference in coloring textured hair verse straight hair it's just color.

With that being said after talking to my very emotional girlfriend, I decided that I will no longer be going back to Barney's for my bi-weekly manicures. It's 2019 and no matter how far we (African Americans) succeed in life we'll always be reminded that we're not EQUAL.

My Husband and I went Saturday to get a Pedicure. Pye did an wonderful job on both of us. But the sitting was awful. While she is working on my feet, i felt like i was giving birth and she was the Doctor. That was how much she was in our crutches. And as she is working on on leg you have to use the other to not slid off the seats. A man had to design this setup, because a women would of made it more accommodating to the client and the employee.

We would love to come back but until the sitting is changed, we will be looking elsewhere. Pye gets 5 stars while the Pedicure setup gets 0. But i do not want it to reflect back on the salon in a whole. So that is why you get 3 stars! Everything else was A+ including the people.

A wide variety of services are offered by a highly trained and professional staff, and the beautiful decor always makes me feel pampered, even though I'm only getting a haircut! Kip (the owner) is a gem. Highly recommended!

Love love LOVE the spray tans here! Rachel is the best. She always makes sure you're happy with your color and will go over it until it's absolutely perfect in your eyes! Always comes out looking bronzed and beautiful. Highly recommend!

I have been working with stylist and friend Joy since 1992. She joined Barneys Brother in 2001. The services are outstanding. Manicures, pedicures, cut, color, style, facials, products and I no longer work downtown. So I drive in every six weeks from the north country because it is worth it!

This salon offers am amazing experience as well as high quality products. The staff is very friendly and professional. Highly recommended!
