The Wax Strip

I feel like a fool because I cannot for the life of me remember the girl that always does my brows. I blame my dory like memory. Anyways what was I on about? Oh yes! I have been going here for years, the girl that does my brows always picks up where we left off in our previous conversations and she has me in and out of there in minutes. I rarely have to wait to be seen as well so it's always nice to make a trip while doing errands.

This place is always clean, the staff is very friendly and always helpful. I don't think I'll ever go anywhere else as long as they keep up the same great service I've grown accustomed to.

I've been a Wax Strip customer for well over 5 years, I've been to their beach location, Gate, and now regular the San Jose location. Sometimes there's a wait, other times there's not, that's just part of the experience so either plan to run errands in between, or go off-peak days/times. Service is always excellent, everyone is very friendly, and their prices can't be beat especially with a package!

I went and had a Brazilian done yesterday by Ashley I highly recommend Ashley she is very knowledgeable and took great care of me and I was comfortable during my whole experience. She even helped me with a discounted package because I was a new client the wax strip is a nice place to go for All your Hair removal needs. I highly recommend it I recommend that you request Ashley she is wonderful I will be returning back.

Lately it has been 2 hour wait times! The technicians are wonderful, but I can tell that management that is done behind the scenes is horrible! Apparently if you are under 18 you can make an appointment with an adult and be seen without a wait, but for the people who work and pay taxes have to waste 2 hours waiting. Can't wait for September to get my hair reduced/removed with laser so I don't have to come back here ever again.

I always have a great experience at this location. The girls are very impatient and understanding. They make me feel comfortable and at ease throughout the whole process.

The front desk receptionist is always so pleasant and inviting. She truly makes your experience awesome with her great customer service. All the techs are extremely professional and polite.

Let me start with I wish I could give more stars I drive almost 40 mins to come here Jessica is absolutely amazing at no matter what service you receive she will make you feel very comfortable in a very uncomfortable and intimate situation because let's be honest getting your Lady parts waxed is a bit uncomfortable the location is easy to find very clean and the staff are kind and polite I have tried a couple places and nothing comes close to the service and treatment you receive at the wax strip check them out you won't be disappointed and ask for Jess because she is the absolute best

I have had waxing done at The Wax Strip for years, but this is my first time reviewing. The technicians are always thorough and professional. I appreciate the walk-in atmosphere and have almost always had immediate service. I am a customer for life!

Underarm & Deep French. Everyone was nice, nice environment, and it was Kee Umma who completely did it for me! Nice, friendly, helped me with good conversation because LORD knows I hadn't been in a little bit because I wasn't traveling, but see you all soon again. Plus might get a brow tint next time:

I have been a customer for years but wait times lately have been far too long. I understand staffing shortages are widespread, but the "no appointments" model doesn't work without more employees. I don't know many women who have time to wait more than an hour for service. I was happy to find a wonderful new spot just across San Jose next to Chick-fil-A with online booking and friendly, excellent service for the same price.

I only see one person at the wax strip. She has transferred over to this location and it's a 30 mile trip for me. I called the previous day or the day of to make sure that she will be working and on the schedule. I called yesterday to assure she would be working as soon as the shop opened today. I was there and she wasn't. They said the receptionist must have read the schedule wrong.

If this was the first time this happened then I could except that but this is the third or fourth time this has happened to me. And now with the price of gas and a waste of my time it is upsetting. They really need to teach the receptionist how to read the schedule. It can't be that hard.

Went for the first time after relocating to the area, I was nervous having to leave my old esthetician and try somewhere new. ASHLEY, was amazing! She was very warm & welcoming, took her time explaining everything to me, and had great recommendations for aftercare. Also was very gentle & soft handed- which is a godsend for a gal getting a brazilian. Also salon was very clean, quick (if you go during non busy days/ hours), and offers specials for first time clients.

Great and friendly service! I love that you don't have to make an appointment and that they offer deals for repeat business. Will be my go-to place for waxing needs.

This is my far the best wax spot in the city of Jacksonville! Every service I've had here has been a pleasure, considering having hot wax ripped off of you isn't the first you'd have in mind when it comes to joy. Ladies pain is beauty they say and this is the place. All the girls are friendly, well trained / educated for their craft and just all around a place I've always been glad to give my money to in the years I've been serviced here. Eyebrows always look great! ( they ask you how you want them cleaned up or reshaped. just lovely!) They were all so kind when I got my first Brazilian and I know they will be to you too rather it's your first time or you're a pro! They have several locations and all the ones I've visited and even referred friends to have been nothing but rave reports.

So I went in today for my brows and the lady who did them was friendly and kind. However the quality of my brows was not really up to my par. I didn't notice how they looked until I sat in my car and took a closer look. One of my brows looks more full, larger, and has more of an arch. I also noticed they're not as neat and clean as the ones seen in the last few photos. Personally, I'm glad they're cleaner and done but it's not up to my standard.

I have been getting my eyebrows done here for almost three years now and I have never been disappointed. They are clean, efficient, and have great prices. The staff are always very friendly and do a great job.

This place has gone down hill fast. They used to care about doing a good job, but now all the waxers are just trying to get people in and out in under 6 minutes with no regard for the quality of work. Customer service has also tanked, especially at the front desk.

My usual salon was closed due to an emergency and I was already overdue. Looked up salons on yelp and found this one so thought I would give them a try. They took walkins and did not disappoint! Very pleasant staff, clean, professional and even gave me a discount as a first timer without asking! I think I'll be back. :

This place is awesome. If you can get in with Cami, I highly recommend her. I don't trust ANYONE with my brows, but Cami has made me a client for life. They are perfect every time. She waxes everything else as well, and is fast and awesome.

I was expecting to like this place because of the reviews, but unfortunately, that's not the case. Excuse me for not being smart and paying attention to the name, but they use soft wax (with muslin strips) for everything including Brazilians, and that's a no-no for me. I'm a hard wax type of lady: less applications to the same area, less pain.

I felt the esthetician here didn't really pay attention to me because even though we spoke about the fact I've been getting waxed every 3-4 weeks faithfully for the last 4-5 years, she still made a comment about how things will change as I begin to wax more. After I'd made it home and conducted my usual post-wax inspection with the mirror, I noticed a lot of hairs hadn't been removed with my Brazilian.

I had to resort to tweezing the hairs which took a while and was very painful. I also didn't like that I could plainly hear the other customer's conversations around me even though music was playing. I can't hear other customers at my usual waxing place. I came here because my esthetician at my usual place called out shortly before my 4-week appointment.

I actually have a package at my usual spot so I wasn't the slightest bit interested in purchasing one from this location. The young lady at the counter didn't seem to take the news well that I wasn't going to purchase a package so the checkout experience became awkward. With all that said, I won't be back. I'm too spoiled by hard wax to put myself through this torture again. Thanks for the ample parking, taking walk-ins, and being able to see me for 3 services on a busy Saturday though.

First off I LOVE they offer walk ins, especially since I missed my appointment somewhere else. I had Mindy who was great and made me feel comfortable for my first visit there. I like that they offer first time clients an offer for 1/2 off your first visit or get 3 Brazilians for $75! That's a deal. They are definitely in my rotation!

My absolute favorite place to get anything waxed. My usual is to get eyebrows and a brazilian. I would recommend getting a package to save money if you are a frequent customer. The staff is extremely hospitable and knowledgeable. They always succeed in making me feel comfortable during a not so comfortable procedure. You can call to make an appt but I usually just walk in and the longest I have ever had to wait was probably 25 min and there is a Publix and other places near by to kill time. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone. Ask for Cami!

I've been coming here on/off for a few years now to get my eyebrows done. It's not super convenient that they're not open on Sundays - so sometimes I do have to go somewhere else. With all of that being said though - they offer some very fairly priced packages. You usually save a few bucks off of each wax if you buy the package. So I pretty much always do. I've visited multiple locations across Jax, but have been coming to this one lately because it's conveniently located near my work. 4 stars only because sometimes it can be a bit slow. Waiting 30+ minutes for an eyebrow wax seems like a bit much.

But for the most part once you're back in the room the tech does take their time waxing. I've had one bad experience, but it was at another location. so I'll withhold that judgment on this location because I've always seen great results here.

I started coming here over a year ago, and it's been the best experience with waxing that I've had. It's super sanitary, and everyone is professional and courteous, making things much more comfortable. I definitely recommend them for any waxing needs. Their technique minimizes pain, and I've never had an unpleasant aftermath like I have at other places like spas or salons that offer waxing as one of many services. This is their specialty, so they're excellent at it.

Love this place. I was going to Hodges and then realized they had this location. So much closer to my home. Everyone is so nice. Today I brought my mom for the first time and we had Mindy. Very helpful and fast service. We look fabulous.

Love the services. Sometimes there is a wait but it's worth it. Zone out and try not to think about the process. The place is clean and efficient. Save money buying services in a bundle.

I usually go to the Wax strip on hodges and beach, but I was in the neighborhood so I stopped by this location. Its the same great service as the other, be prepared to wait though. It's worth it! You can also use your packages at both locations. I would return if I were in the area.
