Oh my goodness. I honestly can't say enough about how happy I am and how I honestly don't think I want anyone coloring or lightening my hair anymore but Nick! I've been to Elle before and ill be honest I felt every other service was just okay, nothing bad but nothing amazing especially for the price. but Nick is like on another level! Not only is he quick WITH amazing quality work, he's honest and genuine and made me feel very comfortable.

Every question I asked he answered honestly. He has been the ONLY stylist I've ever seen to let me know I have product build up, and even still a little bit of dark color in my hair from a couple years back. He also cleared up all my questions about my scalp concerns. I appreciate this for SO many reasons. He gave me advice on how to better my hair health regarding build up at home and at the salon, and while we set a game plan of what we want to do with my hair now & future, from the jump he let me know there was still some dark pigment in my hair so this session may not be the session I get that BLONDE BLONDE I showed him in pictures.

I had no idea there was even still color in my hair as my last stylist told me it was pretty much completely grown out and cut off! Just that honesty shows me that Nick knows his work, wants what's best for my hair and health, and wants me to know what I can expect realistically. Also, Nick is the first stylist I ever even set up a game plan with!

I work for a salon (receptionist) and know a decent amount about hair, but I would always listen and trust my stylists as they're professionals, but Nick has TRULY been the first one to make me feel safe and comfortable in his answers. At the end of the service we noticed a little spot from a foil that just needed a little love (very common, easy fix, & nothing he did wrong) and without hesitation Nick was on it without question, and fixed it beautifully.

I won't lie, it's always been hard for me to point out little things like that because I get nervous I may hurt someone's feelings, especially when they did do good work & spent a lot of time on you. But like I said, Nick and his energy just made me feel so comfortable that it was so easy for me to talk to him. It's just very evident he truly wants his clients leaving feeling beautiful and happy.

I know most stylists want you to bring up any issues asap and want you to be happy with your service, but idk, Nick just made me feel like "I finally found the one" . I've had bad experiences at other salons before, and the last girl I was seeing wasn't bad, but every time I left the salon my hair honestly hardly looked much different. ALOT of money later, I'd go to work or see my friends and no one even knew I got it done which did bum me out since I put so much money into my hair.

I left today brightened up and DEFINITELY noticeably different, and I even paid less here at Elle then an my last place. Long story short, Nick is sweet, genuine, and extremely talented. At only 22 and being THIS talented, I cannot wait to see where this journey takes you! Thanks again for the confidence boost, and also great chat As long as Nick is at Elle, I will continue coming back. (The darker haired photo is a a before)

The best color and cut in the area. I recommend both men and womens cuts. My husband has long hair and they do an awesome job. Best balayage for women as well.

Every experience I've had here had been great. Courteous, thoughtful, and not to mention killer haircuts and styles. I've been to fancier priced places, like Mario tricoci and although I did not have a bad experience there. the value of the experience you get here is so much more! They do fantastic color cuts and styles. And I see lots of men and women getting their haircut and styled here.

Everybody leaves looking great, and with a big smile on their face! Update since may 2021. Today is Jan 6th 2022 and I still feel the same. I went somewhere else in a time crunch before the holidays. Now I came back to Elle to get my hair fixed from the disaster the other place left it in. I'll never cheat again. Money well spent! You'll leave happy I promise!

When I first walked into Elle Salon the first things I noticed were the smiling mask-less faces of the lovely receptionists and a beautiful framed icon of our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ - I knew I was in the right place. No one forced the customers or employees to mask. It was extremely refreshing. I also got one of the best haircuts I have ever had. Diana was very friendly and professional.

You can tell she knows her stuff. All of the stylists there looked amazing and have beautiful hair. I was very happy to be supporting a local business with Christian values. I will definitely be back!

I've been getting my hair cut here for years. I tried to go today to get it cut before a newborn and family photo shoot today and of course not a single employee is wearing a mask. When I asked why I was told it was optional despite the fact that it is a state mandate right now. I have an 8 day old baby and a 21 month old baby who both can't be protected so I walked out because I can't put them at risk so that the stylists can show off their makeup. It's a sad world we live in when I can't even safely get a haircut.

My first post lockdown haircut this was the closest place since I could literally walk here from my apartment. I'm one of those guys I can usually go anywhere and don't care but once Theresa cut my hair it was just different. It looked noticeably better to me and then sadly after a few months getting my haircut there she moved. I really couldn't have lucked out more to have been referred To Vanessa.

The first time she cut my hair I was getting compliments from friends and family and that just felt really good. She's honestly the best stylist I've ever had and a wonderful warm human being to talk to. A high end Salon experience has to be a higher standard, it has to go beyond just the cut and Elle Salon genuinely is an experience and delivers the difference that makes all the difference.

Even the front staff is engaging and to me just shows genuine concern and interest. Catalina and Christine reach out with friendly phone call reminders and texts or squeeze me in when possible when I don't plan ahead. I thing about this place makes you feel like you're just another customer. I highly recommend going here.

I went here for 10+ years, even had my hair done here for my wedding day. However, I stopped going here when I discovered the owner's social media page. Not only is she an avid Trump supporter, but she posted an instagram video all but justifying the January 6th insurrection, citing religion and Jesus for her rationale. Naturally, with this kind of leadership, no one in the salon has, at any point, taken the pandemic seriously.

Early pandemic they weren't wearing masks or taking any precautions, and by the looks of it on their instagram, they still aren't. So genuinely disappointed. They continually ignore science, instead choosing misinformation around Covid-19 and risking the lives of everyone involved. What happened to love thy neighbor? Also sorely lacking in diversity and inclusion as a business. Just all-around sad. 0/10

I walked into the busy salon and was the only person I saw wearing a mask. I was told the owner said it was optional, despite a statewide mandate and almost 28,000 Illinoisans dead. I am deeply disappointed that Elle's owners have made the choice to put their staff and customers at unnecessary risk, and I am heartbroken to lose my stylist Rachel.

Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, Value Alyssa can work wonders! This Mama needed some help to restore her hair! Wanted to get more towards my natural color, while somehow maintaining my live for being a little lighter with blonde. Alyssa did just that! I'm now back to my natural dark blonde/light brown! Yesterday was my first visit to Elle Salon. I had the best experience! Aly gave me a full balayage, followed by a haircut/blow dry/style by Maddie. I showed Aly an inspiration picture, and she recreated it on my hair even better than the original. I explained to Maddie the haircut I was looking for, and she basically read my mind. It has been years since I've left a salon feeling as beautiful as I did leaving Elle. I highly recommend Aly and Maddie to help you meet all of your hair goals!

I had been looking for a new salon/stylist for some time, and unfortunately, the search continues. While everyone at Elle Salon was exceedingly friendly, and the space in beautiful, the work was subpar and overpriced. I asked for a root touch up and highlight refresh. I spent almost 5 HOURS at the salon, including waiting almost an hour for my stylist to finish up with other clients. Sadly, after she finished, it just didn't turn out quite like I had requested. Spotty, roots exposed, grays not covered.

In fact, after she got done doing everything, I had a huge patch up gray right in front of my head. I had to argue with her that it wasn't "blended" correctly. I felt she begrudgingly slapped some dye on my head on the spot (leaving a big blotch of unblended dye on my part) and then left me sitting for 45 minutes without even checking on me once.

I was so disappointed I went back to have it corrected the next day. She did the work and did not charge me, but for the $300 price tag, I was less than pleased. My honest thoughts? It seems they do one particular style well. Long, layered, blonde balayage. I say this, because there were no less the 8 other clients getting this done. I asked for strawberry blonde on a short choppy 'do, and everything just kinda fell apart from there.

I don't think I fit their clientele model. Also, I left with a blinding headache after both visits from all of the pulling of my hair. I seriously worried that I might have a bald spot as my stylist was so rough while washing and styling my hair. I think there are likely other salons in the area that will treat my hair and requests with a bit more respect.

I tried two Different hairdressers and neither one could pull off the simple photo that I showed them. They seem to have a clear understanding of what I wanted yet when I walked out of there it's not what got. Have that conversation with me if you're not clear what I'm looking for. I don't mind putting money into my hair but I hate freaking wasting it on stylists that can't carry a simple style out but rather a very BASIC, blah, cut, no life to my hair - cut!

After years of going to Elle I will never go again after the owners constant social media hypocritical rants about religion & politics. She presents herself as this Catholic Saint. Well the Jesus most of us know wouldn't agree with that depiction. I'm not the only former customer she has offended. I used to be a raving fan but can no longer fund a business ran by someone who supports hate cloaked behind religion

Meh. I used to go to this salon but stopped for well, it's expensive. If i'm going to pay that much money to a business I'd rather have a nicer hair stylists and owner to support. They all dress like they live in CA, it's a very uncomfortable feeling almost cringey in a way. Good thing I found a more inclusive salon that I like! There's a lot of options in the Elgin area i didn't know about!

I am so concerned with businesses following protocol with covid going around so I was a little worried going to get my hair done. These ladies are just wonderful and are all so nice. Glad to see them wearing masks and keeping customers safe! Not to mention this salon is SO CLEAN and BEAUTIFUL! LOVE my hair!

The first time I went to Elle Salon was to get my hair done for my wedding because my normal stylist was not available. Celine was amazing! She took the time during my practice session to find out about the style of my wedding so that my hair matched the event. She was easy to talk to and consistently asked for feedback to make sure my hair was the way I hoped for.

For the actual event, she made the adjustments I requested and my hair turned out great. She was super personable which helped me feel calm and relaxed. Overall, the entire salon was beautiful, clean and had great service. Thank you!

Overpriced. I mean this is Elgin we're talking about, $75 for a trim is a little ridiculous. I mean if the haircut was highly skilled and extraordinary. Yea ok maybe, but for a pretty basic haircut I could get at cost cutters? yea no thanks.

I love Elle Salon. I was never a person who was faithful to a stylist because I was never 100% on anyone who did my hair. I've been going to Elle for two years now. Taylor Deringer is the reason why. She is super talented and listens to me and my needs. If I'm talking crazy and tell her I saw a picture of a celeb and think I need to be a platinum blonde now, she will give me her honest opinion and straighten me out.

We've been dark, super blonde and everywhere in between in the last few years and I've always been happy with my hair. I don't have much experience with anyone else on their team but everyone is SO sweet every time I come in. They carry great products too, sometimes a bit pricey compared to buying them online, but I respect the quality products so I don't mind paying more. AND support small business! Thank you Taylor & Elle! This product is my current favorite. I bought two!

Today was my first day at Elle and I'm IMPRESSED! Stefanie is AMAZING! She is so sweet and right away asked me what I wanted; then explained the pricing to me and told me everything right off the bat. The salon is very spacey, organized and clean. All of the staff are so sweet! I had balayage done with a few highlights as well. I'm seriously OBSESSED and am already looking forward to my next appointment here! It is a tad pricey but it is SO worth every penny. You get what you pay for, which is nothing but great results.
