JC at Makin Waves in HB makes magical waves with his hands. Every time I leave there, I look better than when I came in because when his hands and scissors connect he creates amazing hair styles and colors! Thank you!

LOVE this cute little salon right in the heart of downtown Huntington Beach. I brought my daughter here for a trim and she ended up putting some fun temporary color in her hair. JC took great care of her and she "doesn't want to go anywhere else ever again". Needless to say, it was worth the drive from LA and we will be coming back.

Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Quality, Value The one negative review has an alternative agenda that has nothing to do with the salon. I have been my hair done here for 10 plus years and would never go anywhere else. JC and Susie are the best! Highest marks!

I have been coming to Susie for about 4-5 years for my hair extensions. It is always so fun to hang out during this 3-4 hour process of remove, color roots, and replace extensions. Susie, JC (who cuts my son's hair), and DeeDee are always an interesting conversation. I don't know who wrote the review about not being safe, but Susie had everyone mashed up, clients and stylists. I think that person either misunderstood or is just a hater.

Best place ever. When you have to go Downtown to get your hair done. I for sure would stop here. They have been doing my hair since I was a little kid. Always so nice to feel welcomed and to know that you are getting the best haircut by our local community thank you

JC continued to keep the salon open at least one day after the stay in shelter order putting Huntington Beach residents at risk. I am asking that the landlord change the locks on the salon to ensure the stylists who rent space are not entering. I empathize with the loss in business, but it is not worth losing lives.

Have got the best haircut on my wavy hair, also my hair was severely damaged and that was a challenge to get rid of dry ends. Thank you! Customer for life.

I am from out of town and came to Huntington for work. I came to Makin Waves salon for a hair cut and it was awesome. Dee Dee did a fantastic job. Really paid attention to details and did a fantastic job. One of the best hair cuts I have had. They also recommended numerous places to go eat and that were fun in the area. I wish there was a place like this in Denver where I'm from. Highly recommend.

I have fairly wavy and frizzy hair and saw Lisa for a Brazilian blowout back in early September. It's January now, and is just now dying out. The blowout lasted longer than any other one I've had before and i was really happy with it. Lisa took her time with the blowout and was good company. I also had her cut my bangs while i was there which turned out just how i wanted them to. I definitely recommend seeing her for a blowout or a haircut or both! She was great.

I am beyond satisfied with my hair appointment at Making Waves in Huntington Beach. I came in off of a referral of a friend, without any knowledge of the business, stylists, or their work. I was nervous at first, because I was asking for a difficult color change (brown to platinum blonde) and without notice. Immediately, I was welcomed and sat in a chair.

My hair was handled with care, and it withstood being bleached and dyed without being damaged. I really enjoyed the managements company and warm energy. And I already have my next appointment set up.

My girlfriend has been coming here since she moved to Huntington Beach over six years ago. Susie saved her hair and not only does she enjoy going to her appointments, but Susie and her son JC treat her like a valued family member! JC does her perfect color! I love her hair! They will make your hair absolutely gorgeous no matter what your issues. And lovingly care.

I have been going to Makin Waves for over 8 years. Not only do I feel like they treat me like family, but they do an amazing job. James is always on time and able to fit me in with my busy schedule. He has amazing skills. The salon is nice and clean and a great location. It is very nice they have their own parking lot being downtown. Kate sanders is an awesome hairstylist she is edgy and current and precise! She gave me the best hair cut and Color with a great blow out! I highly recommended her you won't disappointed!

I am so thrilled and happy with my color correction from Susie at Making Waves. And Olivia gave me a really amazing wash. I felt like i went to see my friends for coffee and got my hair done at the same time! They are so professional! so affordable! so enjoyable. A hair salon without the attitude. Without the BS that you find most every place else.

This is the place if you're looking for a down to earth, pleasant nice salon atmosphere without all the housewives of Huntington Beach! And i cannot tell you, the QUALITY OF THE COLOR I GOT! I am soo soo soo happy. She really had to correct a difficult issue. If you're blond, they're the shop for you. They have some amazing people there. I'm going there every week to get my hair shampooed and styled. Plus each month for my color. I'm so glad i found them. TRULY A NEEDLE IN A HAYSTACK. Thanks everyone!

Chelsea is the business! Followed her from a salon in CM, and I really only trust her with my hair and all my online dating drama stories! Cute location, reasonably priced, remember there is client parking in back.

I purchased a Groupon to see Chelsea for a cut and color for my birthday and was blown away. She's super talented, super sweet and I don't trust anyone else with my hair after seeing the full potential she reached with it. I highly recommend this salon and especially Chelsea. Never been so happy with my hair! Compliments left and right

Walking in was a total shock to the stylist. My hair was like bad! And I had business meeting in 20mins. It was a venture capitalist who signed the deal. thanks to the Hair! She like my clean cut, suave lines. and trim

One of the newest stylist, Chelsea is absolutely the best! Fun, friendly, stylish and cutting edge. She really knows her stuff and is awesome at making recommendations that best suit your style and fashion. Her prices are very affordable. But you know the saying.you get what you pay for. She is worth every penny and I love the fact her salon is located in the funnest part of HB. I can make a day of it getting my and my family's hair done and then grabbing a bite to eat at one of the many local spots. I highly recommend her

Went there to interview Susie who is the HAIR EXTENSION expert and she REALLY is! I had no idea there were so many hair extension types and she's certified in ALL of them. She put some in my hair-- a couple of pops of color and I was addicted. Thanks to an idiotic hair colorist in LA who ripped them out of my head (she knew they were there), I went back for a round of let's give Stevie fuller, lusher hair-- and she did. Wow. this is killer. Will have a video on it too.

My stylist is Patrick too! He's a cool surfer dude, and he's so funny too. I get a cut and color each time, and it runs about $120 (including tip). And he'll fix it if you don't like it for free. Plus, Patrick gives the best scalp massage! The place itself is cool. You can definitely people watch. And it's so laid back.

I get my haircut here by a stylist named Patrick. The cut is great, the conversation is great (the guy has been in Southern California for EVER and knows pretty much every underground place that is, was, or will be). The prices are steep, I have short hair, but it still costs around 40 dollars (with tip), but I keep going back, so it must be worth it.
