Went for my first service after my mom had recommended I go after she had been a couple of times. All the employees were very friendly and welcoming. The salon itself is super cute and very updated and modern looking. I saw Savannah for a haircut and she did absolutely amazing! She was very friendly and did exactly what I was looking for with my hair. Will 100% be coming back for future services!

I have been going to Taj since 2011 and with the exception of one or two times, my experience has always been great. The guest services team is always very welcoming and the stylists do a great job. The salon is clean, they offer a wide variety of services and products, and I have always found their pricing to be fair. I haven't had one particular stylist that I have seen consistently over the years, but my most recent visit with Bailey might just change that. She is phenomenal and I highly recommend her and Taj!

Bought 12 session package only, but they changed my account w/o my knowledge to a membership that charges monthly with no ending point. COVID hit and they were closed but still monthly charged me. After awhile I noticed the charges, called them and told them to stop. They would not refund any money, instead providing pre-paid credits for several one hour massages.
I accepted, not ideal but I could occasionally give them to others. Every time it tried to redeem these credits we got a lot of blowback and rude service, making it very unenjoyable. The final straw was we were turned away because they said the credits expired. SO MANY crooked things with my experience, it was almost unbelievable. Do NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

Claire is absolutely exceptional and I cannot recommend her enough! I had relatively dark brown hair and wanted to go blonde, though I wasn't sure if it would suit me or my skin tone. Claire listened to what I wanted and gave me good feedback on the shade of blonde that would work best for me. She was realistic and let me know that it would take several sessions, but she was thorough, kind, and super informative (and very patient with me and my many questions!) And the results have been amazing.
My hair is blonde now and still very healthy! I don't live in the U.S. anymore, so I sadly cannot go back to Taj, but I would highly recommend it to anyone. Everyone I encountered was kind and professional. Thank you again Claire!

I enjoy the facials at Taj Salon in Brooklyn Park. Sarah D. is the best provider. I literally go to sleep in her sessions. it's that relaxing and calming. She knows exactly what my skin needs in every season of the year. I usually add a hot oil scalp massage with my facials and that's just a cherry on cake. I come out refreshed, feeling light and ready to take on the world ( a little exaggeration but Sarah deserves all the praise). Highly recommend her.

I wrote a review about a month ago complaining about the guy that I had do my hair. It was wrong of me to post such a review without talking to the owner Adriana and giving her a chance to find a solution to the problem. After posting my review she reached out to me and offered to do the color for me. I still say that the gentlemen that I had was very unprofessional, rude and had a didn't give a damn attitude.
All I have to say it is a good thing he is no longer there. Also, the salon is a favorite of mine, it has been since 2008. I have told many people about this salon and know for a fact that 8 of them all friends use it regularly. I was having a horrible day when I wrote the review and for that I do apologize!

Taj was recommended to me by a friend after another salon I had booked an appointment with permanently closed due to COVID-19. The whole experience was very positive and enjoyable. From working with guest services on figuring out what kind of service I was looking for and giving me Stylist recommendations to meeting with Bryan for a color consultation, cut and ultimately the color. Bryan is a great stylist both in the work he does but also how he interacts with his clients.
He answered all my questions as well as kept me informed every step of the way. Also great at managing expectations as I was looking at doing a lavender ombre on my dark brown hair. We achieved a medium purple and I absolutely love it. I'm excited to try more of Taj's services.

This place is great at staying open during this pandemic and are great at being safe. When I told my hair cutter what I wanted, she got right to it. Also when I told them my concerns about things that were wrong with my hair, they gave me lots of great recommendations to help. Everyone working there was also very nice. They have great service and I totally recommend you go here.

Do not order products from this place. I placed an order with the owner and had also scheduled a haircut with her. The package never arrived and she basically punished me by refusing to issue a full refund. She said she didn't feel like it since she said it was the post office's fault and didn't take any responsibility for what had happened.
She also texted me a tracking receipt which could've been anybody's order since I could not see it clearly. She also never saved my address for verification purposes, she was also very rude and upset with me because I challenged her actions. It took me 3 or 4 weeks to finally give me my refund. We basically verbally argued over it for some time.
After all this I do not trust Andria the owner to give me a beautiful haircut. I cancelled all my upcoming appointments and would never give them a cent more of my money. Cierra also butchered my hair and hair to grow it out all over again. This was a previous appt so that also should tell you that Taj is worthless. Do not book with Andria or Cierra, they are terrible, uncaring people when it comes to hair care.

The first time I went I called in wanting a wash and style but also tips and advice on what products and how to care for my curly hair. They gave me a stylist whom was of color and she was sweet. She washed my hair then we sat in the chair she began trimming my split ends and after that she puts some products in and I started thinking, when is she going to blow dry my hair?
After about an hour she said she's finished and I looked at her very confused. I asked " your not going to style my hair?" She replied " your appointment was only for a trim and style tips" I replied in frustration because that is NOT what I wanted. After discussion with her and the manager I still had to pay $60 for something I could have done myself.
Then my second and last attempt at Taj I called in for a wash and style. I go in and I sit in the chair and the lady starts brushing out my hair (mind you I have thick curly hair and it hurts when you brush it dry!) I asked aren't you going to wash it then style? She said she couldn't wash it because I have so much hair and she only had an hour to do it before her next client.
I was pissed. End product my hair was frizzy and barley straight and i payed $70 for her to half ass my hair. As a salon you should leave at least an hour and a half windows between clients. Also as stylists you should be able to cater to ALL if not most women's hair types. But here at Taj they obviously don't. Please don't go here just to overpay and he disappointed. NEVER WILL I GOO BACK!

I have been going to Taj regularly for about two years. I always have my hair foiled and cut. The lady who has recently been doing it is Angie and she does a GREAT job. The service otherwise is AWFUL. I had received an email offering 20.00 off my next service over $75.00. There was no statement on the offer saying that I had to print and bring it in.
It said to click on the button and make my appointment online. I did so. I had also received a gift card from my neighbor for $100.00. My service total including a product I purchased was 252.00. Upon checking out I requested that they remember to credit me the $20.00. The check out person said that if I didn't have a copy or on my phone she could not credit me.
I asked to see the manager. The manager came out, asked my email address.she looked it up and said that she could tell that I had not received an email from them. I said, OK, please have the owner call me. I went home and printed out the email and confirmation notice. No one ever called me so I wrote a letter to the owners. No response. I was so embarrassed and upset to be treated as if I were trying to cheat them. It was a terrible experience. Please stay away from Taj if you expect to be treated with respect and honesty.

I've been to Taj Salon twice- Brooklyn Park once and Minneapolis once. The staff is polite, but that is about it. The person I had was the same for both of the below services (I forget her name). She is super sweet, but was clearly still in training. Services I had: facial, lower leg waxing Facial was not great. I could feel a roughness of my skin afterwards.
It didn't include any extractions. I was thinking, "did I have anything done to my skin?" Lower leg waxing- I no longer have dense hair growth, but she was skipping areas and leaving a striped pattern on my legs. So I asked her to not skip portions on the 2nd leg. And the technique used to pull the wax with the hair was not the best (wrong angle among other things) causing her to go at it multiple times. Lower legs took 40 minutes. For the cost, it would have been better to go to a European Wax Center. Oh well, I tried twice and not going to return.

Update as of 11/8/17. I've removed, cleaned, and reapplied my extensions by myself twice now. Effortless process, takes about 30 minutes to remove them yourself, remove the old tape, wash and air dry till the next day, apply new tape and then put them back in sandwich style. Removal serum cost $14. Tape cost $6. Takes less time and I don't have to drive anywhere.
I also purchased new high quality human hair extensions myself online for a fraction of the cost. Kinda kicking myself for not just doing this initially, but thank you Taj for propelling me into action to do so via your silly mishandling of the situation.

I went to Taj Salon and Spa for the first time to have my hair colored and balayaged. I am very particular about my hair color as I have lots of grey to cover and want it to look natural yet have all the grey gone! Taj did not disappoint with their service and I am very happy with my results. Kristen did a great job on my hair color and I am very happy with the results.
I was so pleasantly surprised with the amazing shampoo experience! They put essential oil on the neck during the great neck and scalp massage. They also do a hand and arm massage with every shampoo and then finish with a refreshing toner to wake up. I also got a great gift bag with samples and coupons for my return. Really great touch! I will definitely return! Their boutique is super cute and I picked up a couple of baby gifts while I was there too.

I had Vanessa as my stylist and she was the best. The salon is amazing and luxurious and I will always come back for more haircuts and colors. The moment I walked in I was nervous because I had never gone there before, but the nice people there instantly made me feel like I was in the comfort of my own home. Then as I moved on to getting my hair washed they had me sit in a comfortable chair and they said would you like lip balm?
I waited a moment before responding but I said yes and it was a very good quality lip balm and had lots of moisture. After that I laid down and they put a warm cloth over my head then they said would you like a arm and hand massage I said yes and it was great. Then they brought me over to her station and I got the best haircut of my life I am so happy I went here and I will always will be. If you feel hesitant about going here just ask for Vanessa she will make you feel at home.

Taj is amazing. I am consistently greeted warmly, offered a hot or cold beverage, and promptly attended to. As far as stylists go, Naomi is outstanding. She is professional and incredibly gifted. The level of detail she puts into each of her haircuts (and other services) is simply incredible. I have never left without feeling like a million bucks! I would recommend Taj to anyone and everyone- man, woman and child! Go see Naomi, you will not regret it!

Just be careful when you are buying promotions from them. Their recent Living Social deal confused several people I know - including my husband. When I posted my issue on my Facebook page, several people complained about their Groupon deal as well. They really do need help in understanding basic Marketing and Customer Service. I was willing to forego the promotional value and just take the monetary value for regular services at the location in my neighborhood (we really want our local businesses to succeed) but they were unwilling to do even that!
They want to promote their Minneapolis location, I understand, but they shouldn't risk losing the customers they have in order to gain new customers. I was able to cancel my vouchers through Living Social and get a full refund. It's just a bummer because I was doing more work to save my business than they were. I have had good experiences in their spa before but I haven't decided if I'll return because of how unwilling they were to honor the money I had already spent with them - even when I said I would pay full price!

Another excellent experience at Taj! I love coming here, it is so relaxing and they really give you the spa treatment. I came for a haircut, which started with a nice scalp massage followed by a wash. For the months of January and February, they are offering a FREE deep conditioning treatment. I love anything free! While the conditioning treatment was working it's magic, I relaxed with a warm towel over my eyes and a hand massage.
I really like the haircut Nicole gave me. Plus, I was impressed that she was willing to take the time to make sure it was exactly how I wanted. After she was finished cutting my hair, I decided I wanted another inch taken off, and she had no problems taking the extra time.

Well, I am back to let you know the negative sides to TAJ, first of all their turnover rate of employees is horrible and second I had my hair done there for about six months but they have something called dimensional color which is like $115.00, after 4 tries I decided to go back to my faithful high and lowlight as I have very fine short hair and could not tell a difference.
My stylist refused to adjust the price and there is a difference, when I mentioned this to management they offered me $20.00 off a facial with the manager. The manager gave me a facial with paprika after I told her that I had extremely sensitive skin and I washed it with baby shampoo because everything else was too harsh. I complained during the facial that my skin was burning, she did nothing. My skin was red and burning for three days after that, I had to take two days off work. Never again!
