I've never been disappointed at Simonson's. Their stylists are top notch and always open to the ideas I have for my hair. The massage service is good too, definitely go for deep tissue if you need to relieve muscle stiffness, but the hot stone massage is perfect for relaxation. Knowledgeable, skilled, friendly staff who are willing to spend extra time answering questions and sharing information.

I have been going here for years. The front desk staff is poorly trained and not quick to help nor greet guests. Frustrating. I find it easier to book my appointment online than calling because again the front desk staff is just not good. But it's hard to get the service I want scheduled correctly unless I book after an appointment with my stylist there to help the front desk staff schedule it correctly.
Also the front desk staff frequently overcharges or charges me incorrectly. So be aware of this. But there is a lot of good about this place! The good is I'm always had great stylists and massage therapists and spa people. The service is great once you get through the awful front desk people. Honestly the services here are so great. Just wish they could manage to have the reception area and scheduling people trained and professional.

My husband bought a GC for my birthday. I don't like Simonsons service so tried to return within 24 hours of purchase. Difficult to reach any manager. Poor customer service once I tracked a manger down. Refused to credit me. I will be forced to use but will NEVER RECOMMEND NOR USE SERVICES FROM THEM AGAIN!

This review is not based on the result of the hair service itself, as my grandmother is very happy. This review is in regards to how the transaction was handled by the hairstylist, Jamie S. I purchased a service for my grandmother to have a perm completed, with her hair length being above her shoulders. Prior to her going into the appointment, I told her that a cut would be included if there was a need for it, as you can see below in the confirmation email that was sent to me after booking!
I also asked that the salon run my card instead of my grandmothers, since it was a gift. I was told they would call to confirm charges and to add a tip, neither of which took place. Upon my grandmother leaving, I received notice that my card had been charged well above what the cost of the booked service was. After calling and speaking to the front desk, I was told that the additional charge was for a full haircut.
The stylist simply asked my grandmother if she was getting a haircut as well, and my grandmother believing that it was included agreed. She was never told that it was not part of the service as originally expected, nor was she told that it would be nearly $70. I completely understand charging for time, however the perm and haircut was completed within the 2 hour timeframe that was allotted with the price of the perm.
I am curious how many people are taken advantage of simply with the salon's lack of transparency, only to share additional cost and total price after the service has been completed. This would not have been an issue at all, if my grandmother did not feel tricked into something that she believed to be included. This was an unfortunate first and last experience with any Simonson's salon.

Terrible color service partial haircut paid for conditioning treatment left it on only 2 minutes. My hair is ruined literally one side of my head is different color than they other. Called for a refund and after jacking me around and basically saying since I was with a low level stylist I received that level of service.finally agreed to re-do fix. Booked me but my schedule changed, I called to rebook they did it, then I get a call after the 7 day guarantee (which No One told me about) saying my appointment is after that so it will be at full cost. Seriously.
Terrible experience terrible service. At this point I guess I dispute the charges. Terrible service. Oh and I had so much color and product slopped in my ears. Yes inside my ears.

My husband wanted a fade style haircut and I convinced him to go to Simonsons instead of a lower end salon since I've always had a good experience. He came home with easily the worst haircut he's ever had, wasn't shown the back of his head with a mirror and my message was left read with no response. Thank god for hats. We will both be looking for a new salon. Edited to add that a few days after this post they reached out and issued a refund.

I've booked appointments for services at this location using their online system TWICE. Both times, I've had to wait a week or more to get the appointment and a few days before, it gets cancelled. So frustrating. What the hell is going on with their appointment scheduling system? They offer to rebook you which means starting all over and waiting another two weeks! Just crazy and so unprofessional. Never again.

DO NOT GET YOUR HAIR CUT HERE. Buyer beware! HORRIBLE experience. HAIR IS COMPLETELY UNEVEN. Very unprofessional hair stylists who do NOT know how to cut hair. Incredibly in-experienced staff! Stylists cannot cut a straight line, nor do they recognize what a straight line looks like. Came here for the first time last Saturday for 1.5 hours and Rallie cut and messed up my hair.
That was not a good impression. My hair is now DAMAGED, FALLING OFF and you cut my hair in half (more like shreds) when all I wanted was my hair to be in long layers and one length! Just a nice trim. If you lift up my hair, you will see all the flaws, the mis-alignments and now I have crazy static and the hair just keeps falling. Had to re-schedule another appointment for a new stylist to RE-CUT my hair and spent 2 hours here with Hannah.
My hair is still UNEVEN and in shreds. I was DIRECTING her the entire time, "You missed a spot. It's right here. Can you cut this? This looks un-even. It's still not straight." Had to beg her to have another stylist named Miranda (master stylist) try to correct my hair and even she couldn't see it was NOT straight. Stylists are lazy and don't care about making it right!
I asked for my money back at the concierge desk and they have not returned a dime. LIARS! Yes, your receptionist told me, to my face, "YOU WILL GET A REFUND." I spoke to the manager named Miranda and it's not their policy to refund. What kind of policy is that? She even asked me to text her photos of my hair so that she can see why I don't think it is straight.
I am happy to post the photos on the internet. Just give me my money back so I can go elsewhere to fix YOUR mistake! Does it really make sense for me to return THREE times for you to FIX my hair?! I made a last minute color correction on a Thursday for an open Friday appointment with Candace. I'd never had her do my hair before, so I was a little unsure as to what the results would be. She was amazing and exceeded any and all expectations by a long shot. She was so accommodating with adding needed time to my appointment and listening and hearing my concerns.
I felt she completely understood my dilemma from the second I sat in her chair, and not only understood, but had the skills to create the results I was hoping for! Candace is a talented, caring, personable and professional stylist who really cares about her clients and the end result.

Scheduled basic facial for next day after walking in to check the place out. Confirmed price & services I could expect for basic facial. Arrived 15 min early @ their request, to complete questionnaire, etc. Ample parking Relaxed atmosphere. Pleasant, knowledgable folks. Advanced Practice Aesthetician "Lis" (Aylissa) explained exactly what she'd be doing, after reading the info I provided on questionnaire.
She made sure: I was comfortable in chair; warm enough, etc.; Assessed for allergy issues of any kind-none for me. Any previous facials? (yes). The next hour was all about my comfort. "Lis" really new facial anatomy, musculature, tension spots. She never rushed, never promoted/ pressured sales. I preferred: quiet, relaxing & that's what I got.
It was a slice of heaven. My cost was $85.00. Worth it to me: my skin was thoroughly & gently cleansed, massaged & moisturized. I left with glowing skin. I had confidence in her skill level within moments of starting the facial. I recommend this establishment & this aesthetician.

I am very cautious about giving a hair salon 5 stars mostly because of my past horrible experiences. But trying to ignore the past this salon has everything you could want at a salon and spa. This is my second time here and both times MJ did my hair cutting. She has a very positive energy and was very open to feedback to make sure she met my needs. I will likely be back very soon to add some color to my style.

Seriously this place has the best massage therapist.you need Lanier's hands on your body - I'm not joking here - incredibly professional and knowledgeable - I felt immediately relaxed and his technique, for me, was spot on! I think I've fallen in love - FINALLY- with a massage therapist - go here and meet him - you will not be disappointed!

We had Sydney cut my step sons hair. She was a solid stylist. Not fluffy or an over talker so she worked well with the boys and frankly me as she was efficient, listened to exactly what we wanted and nailed the haircut. He loves his hair. The place is nice. A mid-high end salon with fair pricing. $24 for a kids cut which included shampoo and full style. I'd recommend as it wasn't a pretentious place but had quality without the obnoxious upcharge to be treated like crap or like you're "one of them".

Went to Simonson's for a girl day getting Manny and petty's before our trip to Hawaii. The young ladies that helped us were very pleasant and nice. During the The petty I know sometimes I can be a difficult client because I'm ticklish. But unfortunately the young lady sanded in my foot so hard that it has left an abrasion! I've tried to get hold of the management to just let them know about it not that I am looking for anything in return but also in case it gets infected I want them to know they might want to do an accident report I don't know.
But no one has responded to me I left a phone message my phone number spoke to a young lady at the desk. They have my email and I've also made comments on the corporate website contact us place and have not heard back. Granted I did that late last night so I just might need some time. Will not ever return. Updated March 1 I did receive a phone call from the manager at 6:30 yesterday evening.
We had a nice conversation. But to set the record straight I did not refuse to leave my phone number, and in fact the young lady looked me up in the computer to verify my technicians name! We had my name and phone number along the information sheet I had to fill out on Sunday.

I have had complexion issues my entire life. After turning 30 (woof!) I decided it was time to take control. I first started with a hydra facial with Vivienne, which was good, but from there she and I have really built a plan. For the first time in my life I feel like I have control and over my skin and it's the best feeling. Viviene and I always talk extensively prior to any service and I feel like she cares and listens more than any esthetician or even dermatologist, I've been to.
For anyone that is truly struggling find a system that works for problem skin I recommend starting here. I have never felt pressured to buy more or spend more. it honestly feels like working with a friend for self improvement.

I've been searching the Plymouth/Maple Grove area for a new stylist for longer than I care to admit. My favorite abandoned me for lure of the 50th & France appeal. My first visit to Simonson's yesterday gave me a glimmer of hope! The staff from phone call to payment was very friendly, knowledgable and helpful. Tina took the time to learn how my hair behaves, how I typically care for it and what I'd like to accomplish. The real test is styling yourself and I loved it today as well! I'll be back!

The stylist I went to for a blow out seemed knowledgeable and had a nice personality, explained the process all the way though. Disappointed in their products thiugh, I specifically asked if the shampoos they used contained sulfates or sulfate by-product and was told "they're color safe" not exactly an answer to my question, but sure enough after my hair was blown out I noticed a huge difference in the color of my hair, maybe these products are color safe for the typical blonde but I use pravana vivids so I am very careful with what I use on my hair.
For a $50 blowout that drained my color I would have just brought my own shampoo. Also, if you rough dry the entirety of someone's hair and then simply curl it the ends will not be smooth, it is a way to get things done quicker and cover your tracks, although obviously not completely. I know, I've been a hairstylist for 7 years now.
