I have been going to Phil for quite some time now. He excels in his craft. He is an extremely talented colorist. No one has ever given me the great haircuts he does. I walk out of the salon feeling fabulous, time after time. The salon is clean and the staff very friendly. The fact that Hair Machine uses Goldwell products is a major plus. I live in Queens and drive to Rockville Centre once a month because.why go to the rest when you can go to the best? Zabelle

Part 1 of 2 (See Mark S. for part 2) Please dnt go to this salon if you have textured or thick hair they can't handle it. DO NOT BOOK LESLIE & THE OWNER IS USELESS I booked an appt for a wash, cut &STYLE & the morning of my service I realized I was going to be late. Icalled ahead, advised that I would be 20mins late& asked if I can still come.
The lady put me on hold to check if it was ok, she came back & said yes u can but any later, we can't take u. I arrived at 10:19 & washed hair & was seated at LESLIES station. She approached & she stated you're 30mins late IDK how they expect me to do your hair. I told her I checked w/ receptionist, before coming, she asked me why style I'm looking for.
I shwed a pic of Hollywood waves. She said "IDK if I'll have time to do that, you have so mch hair & you're late." while combing my hair. I asked "are u going to be able to do what I want?" she said she'll try ifanything she'll do the style & have someone set it for her. she kept reminding me Im late &I have so much hair she doesn't knw why front desk allowed this.
She has to get my thick hair bone dry. Leslie told a lady walking by"I need you to get me someone to set her hair", the lady said ok.she started to blow dry my hair & while shes drying the last section a woman approached Us & said "Leslie what's wrong? What's the problem now?". Leslie started telling this woman the front desk messed up, she(me) came late for the appt & wants Hollywood waves but she has so much hair.
The woman approached me & says u booked a blowout, that's what u got. She can't do anything else. I stopped her & advised I booked a wash, cut & style. this woman states a style means a blowout & that's what you got. Maybe in the cosmetology "style" means "blowout" but as professionals who deal w/ ppl who dont know their terms, styling can mean an a lot & if style meant blowout tht shld be made clear before booking an appt. &if I was booked for only a blowout, why did Leslie ask me what style I'm looking for at the beginning? Did she forget what a blowout looks like?
So while this woman is in my face telling me I booked the wrong session. I said but I sat in the chair Leslie advised she would try to do the style I wanted & get someone to set my hair. The women goes "IDK what u mean by setting?" I said IDK that's what Leslie said, IDK wht it takes to do the style & at no point did she(Leslie) stop & say "I'm not attempting to do tht style all I can do is a blowout", she did what she wanted. Leslie gets in my face saying don't put words in my mouth, denying wht she told me. & saying it's disrespectful that she(me) lied to the front desk.
I said I didn't lie I booked a wash, cut and style. Leslie says "u didn't even tell thm how much hair you have. U own this hair and I expected me to do this is 30mins?" I said IDK how long the slot was for I said what I wanted & was given an appt. I wasnt advised the length of the session & how am I supposed to tell them how much hair I have over the phone.
The lady told Leslie to take care of her other client, Leslie left the station. This lady continued to argue back & forth w/me. I said ok what's your name. She said I'll see if we can get someone to do it for you. I said no I wld like your name, she refused to give me her name & said we will try to see wht we can do. I said you guys are using "try" loosely b|c Leslie told me she was going to try &I'm here so I need a definite yes or no.
The nameless lady said ok. I immediately called my BF explaining what just took place. (still have my BF OTP) Justin the owner comes up, he says we are trying to get someone & we'll see whtwe can do. I said ok but it's rude wht ur stylist did. I said I knw I was 20mins late & there was confusion in booking but when I sat down I was told of 1 thing& never told otherwise until I was blindsided by the nameless lady.
He said it makes it's a little hard to assist b|c I was late. I called ahead to make sure I cld still come, Justin left. Leslie came back to her station I was still seated at. She then turns to me & says so you're sister is not going to make the appt thn right? (My sister had booked a 3:45pm appt for a wash cut and blow w/ Leslie) I said, " are you canceling the appt b|c I never said that" she said I want to make sure she's going to be on time. & then started saying the worst thing I cld've done is lie to the front desk, I said I didn't lie but she kept harassing me.
She said, " I gave u a kickass blowout, I didn't have to" I said I don't care tha's not wht I asked for & she got in my face & I literally had to yell "GET OUT OF MY FACE" (w/my BF &sisters on my phone listening to everything) & she responded "you need to get out of the salon" (My BF & sisters were on their way to the salon)heads at other stylists stations were turned but I guess everyone in this salon is ok w| harassment of clients.

These guys are number one in my book when it comes to customer service and bringing your hair from boring to fabulous. Plus as someone who works in the medical field I appreciate all their COVID protocols.
I found these guys on Google when I was looking to make my hair hot pink. I found Liana's pictures on their site and her IG page. I called to schedule a consult appointment with her, and we hit it off right away. I connected with her and had complete trust in her as she went over the whole process with me. I had long brown hair with grays and hadn't been dyeing my hair in months due to COVID.
I needed to go platinum blonde to go pink. I made my first appointment and knew it was going to be a long process to get my hair the platinum it needed to be. Let's just say it's been a process in itself and I'm happy I started this hair journey with Liana! In just a few months I feel like we've known each other for years. She's a lot of fun and makes a client feel very comfortable. The staff are always super friendly and helpful and it's always a very warm environment. I definitely recommend them.

I started off 2021 with a much needed makeover! Arianna with my hair and Jennifer with my makeup took this over 65 lady into the current decade! Arianna listened to allll my input and did a wonderful job to update my do! Jennifer also did wonderfully highlighting my eyes with my request for an everyday look! I feel so contemporary and ready for a new year.

I've been going to Hair Machine for a few years and it's the best hair salon by far. Ive been to quite a few salons and none compare. At Hair Machine I've always seen Jenny Kaplan and she is AMAZING! I am a picky person when it comes to my hair and I always leave Hair Machine beyond happy with the results. She's honest and consistent.
She truly cares that her clients are happy before leaving the salon. Ive been stopped numerous times to ask who does my hair and where. I wouldn't go to anyone else for my hair! I highly recommend going to hair machine and seeing Jenny.

When I moved here 2 years ago I chose this salon based on this goldwell products but what I found was so much more! Jenna does a fantastic job keeping my blonde fresh and always has me feeling amazing when I leave the salon. When you're there it truly feels like a family with everyone laughing and smiling. Such a great place to get your hair done regularly!

We were able to make an appointment via email that Jennifer replied via text. Mercedes, the curl expert, was solidly booked for next couple days so we patiently waited for next available spot. We weren't disappointed! She knew her craft and took her time, educating us all the way. She didn't push products but explained what would work best for curly hair that occasionally gets blown dry.
The receptionist was overly cautious, telling one of us that we could wait in our car as it was at full capacity inside (even though there was a person that sat right next to us and wasn't getting serviced). Fortunately, Jennifer texted me to come inside less than an hour later. The booth Mercedes worked at was right at end of reception desk so it was tight.
Some other stylists acted like we were too close to them whenever they passed that tight area sadly. Owner/manager also made comments as did other stylists that my relative's hair must be real hard to do and asked if Mercedes needed assistance. I am glad Mercedes and relative respectfully replied no and that curly hair was beautiful and great to maintain.
I am also glad I saw and heard for myself the ignorance displayed by professionals who claim to be trained to do all hair. It would have been nice to know via email and text and even phone that it was cash only. Fortunately there was a low fee atm inside. Parking was difficult so waiting in car was a trek on a hot day. I would have thought years later (since I got my hair done) that the place would be up to speed in customer courtesy and skills to do all hair! Mercedes (who is bilingual) should have her own booth to spread herself out to do hair and shouldn't have to be interrupted constantly by snide remarks from staff as well as glares from passing customers.
At least she had the courtesy to examine the customer's hair in her working chair and not in front at reception desk like some salons do. Prices were reasonable but no business card was presented by Mercedes like she had to go through management to get appointments. We asked for one anyway.

Staff is amazing! I came to Jenny because a friend referred me to her and I am happy I did! She knew what would work on me and I love my hair color! Marlene did my blow out and I loved how she made the time to squeeze me in but also made my hair look great! Both talented woman! Will definitely be coming here from now on!

They squeezed me in last minute and told me exactly what to expect since I was being squeezed in. I give the most vague instructions with respect to my hair and Rebecca came through with exactly what I was attempting to explain. Love the cut. Only complaint is that hair can be expensive and they are a cash only establishment. In good news they have an ATM on site.

I had Arianna, an amazing hair colorist fix a bad color job (I had done elsewhere). She was sweet, professional, she did the most perfect job she could with the "canvas" I came in with and what I loved best of all was, she really cared about the integrity of my hair and told me what was possible and what was not, in order for her to maintain my healthy hair! I walked out of there feeling so much better than I had when I walked in. So thankful to have have found Arianna at the Hair Machine!

Been going here for years now. I've only ever had Suzanne as my stylist but she is wonderful, funny and makes me feel welcome. The shampoo girls are great and the environment is fun and fast-paced. all the stylists have their very own work station with their names engraved on the mirrors-pretty cool! Definitely my go-to spot for all my hair styling needs.

Got my hair cut by Missy! And she did an awesome job! Love it! Love the cut and blow dry! I'm a particular with my hair and she met my expectations! She does five star work, and listens to what u want! She uses a nozzle when blow drying and sections hair off for both cutting and drying the hair! This is a sign of a 5 star salon and work! I highly recommend this place! And I recommend all to go to Missy!

Got my 2 year old son's haircut here 2 days ago, Liana did an amazing job! I told her she's got a customer for life in him haha. Came back today for a trim and a blow out from Missy that were both exactly how I wanted them AND she took her time my thick hair. Great experience and super reasonable pricing. Another plus: Parking is easy compared to other spots in RVC.

Omg Justin was great I needed a blow out for my weekend events and found this salon on yelp because I just moved here to the area and was so happy with them especially Justin. A great perk was emailing through yelp because I was unable to call at the time, they got back to me pretty quick via text. Will absolutely go again probably for more services and request Justin He knew exactly how i wanted my hair and taught me some pretty good tricks too Definitely recommend

The Hair Machine is an excellent place for highlights, cuts, and general hair service. It's a large place but you don't feel forgotten. The service is 5 star. Today got highlights from Arianna, with assistance from Kristen, they were professional, polite, and great hairdressers. Have been there so far, four times, and can honestly say, this is my new place to get my hair done. Parking has never been a problem. You park either out front or in the lot out back. Generally a great experience! Highly recommend.
