Salon Michel For Hair

I've been going to Salon Michel for almost 20 years now! My mom brought me when I was 18 and I've been going ever since. (She is still a customer here as well). Everyone is warm and welcoming and I feel like a family member at this point after going here for so many years:) Michel is meticulous and an absolute professional at cut and color. I always look and feel great after each visit which has recently included other services (waxing and pedicures).

Young is who I go to for those--best pedi! I highly recommend this salon to anyone who is looking for a fantastic and relaxing experience. Their service and professionalism is second to none. Thank you for so many years of great care!

I've been going to Salon Michel for 2 decades for a reason! I started with color and never looked back - now I'm a regular client for not only hair but also other services like manis/pedis/wax. I've referred friends and they too became instant and long term clients! This salon is organized, on time, and professional - all the way. And, they are a true community business - they support local artists and entrepreneurs as well as important causes like breast cancer awareness.

Michelle is the Great Lengths Extension expert! I was fortunate to get an appointment with her, thank you Jennifer for working your magic and making things happen! Michelle answered my questions and educated me on the proper care of my hair and extensions. She is experienced and knowledgeable about fine, thinning hair. The salon is very clean with Covid protocols in action. A plus plus!

I see that many people are happy with this salon and that's nice, but I am not one of them. I brought a photo of the haircut I previously had, but what I ended up with was entirely different and not what I wanted at all. There was no point in complaining, because they cut it so short that correcting it was not an option. I'll never go back. It's also very expensive, which would be OK if one got the result that one wanted.

This is the best salon I have ever gone too. They know how to cut my hair and style it, which is hard with thick and curly hair. My color always looks amazing. Beyond that, they are generous and caring and make my experience wonderful every time. I even started taking my kids and they do a fantastic job letting them express what they want and making their hair look great. I can't recommend them enough and am blessed to have found this salon.

First time customer at this salon. Jennifer was most helpful in my challenge with directions and was very welcoming upon arrival. I saw Michel for a hair cut. I immediately felt at ease with him. He gave me a perfect cut that is easily managed. I was also impressed at the salon's attention to mask wearing, hand washing, and vinyl sheeting between stations. Customers were kept apart as well. Will definitely be back.

Was going to a big party and the place that was supposed to do my makeup cancelled at the last minute. In a panic I called Salon Michel and they found a way to squeeze me in. Even though I was a last minute appointment, Jennifer took her time and did an amazing job. She took time to study my face and ask about the type of party and my preferences. Jane even got in the act and helped with my hair to make sure everything was perfect. Everyone was so nice. They even followed up with an email to see how everything went. I got compliments at the party all night!

I have been going to Salon Michel for quite a few years and always come away satisfied and happy. Michel cuts my hair and always does an excellent job. Frequently I get compliments about my hairstyle and ladies always want to know "who does your hair, it always looks so good". The shampoo girls are always excellent as well--the experience is relaxing and pleasurable.

Young Yee is amazing. It was my best waxing experience ever! She knows her job and does it to perfection.

I love this place! The entire staff is very knowledgeable. I have my hair done by Kaitilin but she no longer works there. so I have my hair done by Michel. They understood that I am very skeptical and afraid to have my hair more damaged that is already is (because a previous hair dresser didn't do a good job). My hair have a tendency to go to the orange side of the blond (which I dislike very much) but since I have been doing my hair over there I have the exactly shade of blond I desire!

The reason my experience with Michel at Salon Michel has lasted many years is because of his excellence in all areas of his profession. He is a color expert, talks to me about what I am considering, is honest in his recommendations, and takes a lot of time cutting my hair in the perfect style for my face. Michel is not only an expert, but an artist. Michel's personality is filled with good humor and inspiration. He is a caring person who works hard to please his clients and make them smile. He is a great guy and his staff is kind and caring as well. They feel like my family.

Salon Michel is simply the best, and that's saying a lot in an area full of great salons. I've been a client for years because nobody knows color and a good haircut like Michel. The staff is warm and friendly, professional and efficient. They make it their top priority to understand you, their client. The atmosphere is exactly what you want in your salon routine - hip with great music yet comfortable and relaxed so you can chat if you want or simply tune out the world with your Kindle and a cup of tea. A fantastic salon. Everyone is friendly and welcoming. Caitlin takes her time to listen to what I want but also gets creative when I say I trust her to do whatever. I have thick, curly hair and she gives me cuts that are manageable and versatile. And when I say I'm growing it out and just want a trim. she never cuts too much! I highly recommend this salon. The prices and services are great.

A friend recommended this salon to me and I'm so glad I decided to give it a try! It's so hard for me to find someone who can cut curly hair the right way without using thinning sheers and doing excessive layers. Caitlin does an amazing job at cutting my hair so it's versatile and I'm able to wear it curly or straight. I'll definitely continue going here!

Happened to hear about this place through word of mouth. Scheduled an appointment with Caitlin who is very friendly along with the rest of the staff. Timing was prompt as I walked in and immediately sat down in the chair to have a cut. She first washed my hair before starting the process which is nice because it took out all the product I already had in and showed all the defects such as my cowlicks and receding hairline that she was able to work around. Not a lot of people catch this as I often walk away with a patch of uncut hair lol. EDIT: Caitlin now works at Modern Concepts in Ashburn, VA.

Zizi is the best. The only cons is that I live far now and can't go often. But the service is always devine.

I am a longtime customer of Zizi, many years, and love her. She does a great job managing my color and cuts well. Also, I have curly, frizzy hair and she handles it well, offering me different options to deal with it. No real complaints other than you can't tip using your credit card and the Salon doesn't take AMEX. But I like the email reminders for my appointments, and the assistants who shampoo my hair do a nice job.

They literally saved my wedding. I was referred by a friend a month before my wedding. The person who was supposed to do our hair backed out at the last minute. I called and they immediately scheduled me for a consultation. By the time I left the consultation, I knew this was the shop but, when they did my full trial, I was stunned at how beautiful they made me look. Zizi did an amazing job with my crazy curly hair and my Matrons of Honor.

A younger woman made my Jr. bridesmaids not only look gorgeous but, they had a blast with her doing their hair. Kudos to the team. I am coming back for my hair cuts and color soon.

**** Why does Yelp keep Filtering my post? *** I can't believe it's taken me this long to write a review for Salon Michel! I have been going to see Michel religiously every 6-8 weeks for over 2 years now. I tried him after a recommendation from a friend, and have never been happier with my hair. He does exactly what I want - and even when he tries something a little different, I always love it.

Better yet, he looks at the client's sense of personal style and lifestyle and cuts your hair accordingly - he really gets that I want my hair to be "pretty" but still "slightly fashion forward." The atmosphere is fantastic, the staff is warm, funny and sweet. They use and sell great hair products that are chemical free. My hair is in the best shape it's been in for years, since I've been going to Michel and using their products. Check them out. you won't be disappointed!

The two previous reviews make zero sense to me! I have been going to Salon Michel for over a year and I am positive that not only is MK the very best colorist I have ever experienced but the staff is always wonderful. Jennifer the owner is always amazing and gives me great make up tips. I image there is always some miserable people. I highly recommend Salon Michel.

I work in McLean and decided to buy a gift certificate for my girlfriend for hair services. My girlfriend absolutely loved the services and continues to use product that she gets exclusively from the salon. I decided to stop by their location during her visit there to say hi. I was impressed by the attention to detail given to the the salon facility itself; It was spotless and extrmely well thought out in its design and decor.

I sat on a big comfy counch and munched on snacks while I waited for my girlfriend to finish up. She looked beautiful when she was finished with her hair and makeup and she hasn't stopped talking about the experience since. As a boyfirend, for a girlfriend, I would highly recommend salon michel and plan on buying another gift certificate in the future.

Waited 45 mins past my appt. No apology or anything. When I got into the massage room, the place was filthy, sheets all over the floor and towels. The front desk staff did not seem friendly, especially the older lady with short hair. Do your self a favor, dont go here.

I went to Salon Michel after learning of them at an event for breast cancer. My usual salon was always booked and was becoming frustrating so i decided to give it a try. I was slated with Zizi for color and she was amazing. It was the first time my hair did not seem orange-y and my hair has felt healthier since she started coloring. I completely trust her and her abilities and she never makes me cut my hair if I don't want to :. I would reccomend Zizi to anyone especially those that are interested in going lighter in color. My sister recommended Salon Michel and couldn't sing its praises enough. After moving out to DC I decided to give it a whirl. I was a little wary about finding a super fabulous hip cut in McLean (sorry, sorry, I'm fully anti-VA) and I should have trusted my instincts. I had my hair cut by Michel, who you would expect to be the best person at the salon. He's one of those guys that is obviously very full of himself, speaks with a ridiculous accent, and talks about your hair like it has it's own personality.

Kind of like Jonathan Antin from Blowout, but not nearly as hot/cool/badass. Just lame. I liked the size and feel of the salon, but that was about it. They had some highschoolers as receptionists who were utterly worthless and I waited quite a long time for my appointment. My cut was pretty bad, I felt like I had a mullet because the ends were so super thin.

When I got my hair cut again my new stylist asked who the hell had put this "shelf" in my hair. Not a good look. The blowdry is usually my favorite part of getting my hair cut but I immediately put it in a ponytail when I left the salon. He had given me what I think of as Texan hair: reeeeeal big on top, flips out at the end, and a whole lot of hairspray. Not a good look. My sister always had good experiences with Salon Michel, but I will never be back.
