I've had multiple cuts here now by multiple people. They all do a good job and are very professional. Elizabeth cut my hair the best and was very conversational, nice person. My favorite part though is the very comfortable leather couches and atmosphere.

Took my 13 year old son for his time at a proper barber and it was amazing! We will definitely be going back.

Went in to get a medium fade haircut and a face shave.haircut was subpar and my face is half shaved yet somehow paid $72.would not recommend

I have received the worst hair cut I've ever had. This is the first time in my life I ever got a hair cut, then promptly had to go home and take scissors to my own hair to try and fix the damage. I was supposed to receive a beard trim as well. The stylist clearly did not know what that meant or how to do her job. I also finished this myself at home. If a client is given an apprentice, they should be told so beforehand. I will not be back, I will recommend people to stay away from this location

Great place to get a haircut, comfortable lounge, complimentary beer with you cut, highly skilled stylists. Dog friendly.

Hi. I brought a client in for a haircut and beard trim yesterday. When we arrived, we were told that the stylist, Kayla, he was scheduled with was at Walgreens. After waiting 15+ minutes for her to return for this scheduled appointment, she never apologized for being late but she told him she could not complete his appointment and did not have time to do his beard trim because her next appointment was there.

We went to counter to pay with two twenty dollar bills, took the entire remainder to stylist as tip, $11 (yes, he is a very generous tipper so she screwed up for future visits) only to realize later that the change was supposed to be $15. Very nice salon, however, we got shafted by both employees that were working yesterday. Very unprofessional.

The shop itself is very clean and makes you feel welcome from the moment you step in the door. A nice relaxed atmosphere for a men's cut and shave. After a few hiccups they finally won me over and I have a great relationship with my stylist. She's attentive, remembers my name and style and personality everytime I walk in the door. The customer service is the best in Hampton Roads.

Been coming here for a year and a half now because the first time I got my cut here, the staff was very professional and made me feel like I had been a long time customer. I highly recommend this place. The environment gives off a relaxing and welcoming vibe. Love this place! Ask for Courtney or Kristen(Kirsten) but honestly everyone here is amazing so no matter who cuts your hair, you're going to get a great cut!

BE CAREFUL OF INCORRECT SCHEDULING, RESULTING IN NO HAIRCUT I've came here a couple times in the past and have had good experiences. However, this time I am very disappointed. I called to schedule an appointment, and the receptionist offered two times - 1:30 or 2:30. I asked for the 2:30. When confirming the appointment, the receptionist said the time was 1:30 despite me saying 2:30 moments prior, so I corrected her, stating 2:30 then she confirmed the correction.

I showed up at 2:30 to get a haircut and they still had me scheduled at 1:30, telling me they were unable to cut my hair. They made it seem as if it was my fault and looked at me like like there was nothing they can do for me. This is not reliable and forces me to look for a new place that will actually give me a haircut. Unlikely to return, and will stop referring people.

If you want a good haircut - go somewhere else. If you want absolutely stupid hair and ridiculous conversation and pay too much come here. My son and his father both got their hair done by two different people and they both came out looking ridiculous. I died when I saw my son and had to take him somewhere else to fix it - I joke you not, but they made him look like Adolph Hitler. And it was definitely NOT what he wanted.

I went in today for my first haircut since May. I have been coming to GHQ for several years. My usual stylist here had moved on and I needed someone who was good with scissors. I was set up with Valerie. She was fairly new there (2-4 months) and I showed her a picture of my last haircut and how I wanted it. She said OK and went to work. WOW! She cut my hair like she had been my stylist for years.

She was EXTREMELY confident and very skilled. Very friendly and naturally likable. She did check with me a few times to make sure she was taking off the right amount which I really appreciated, because once it's off, it's off. She will become my go to stylist from now on.

Took my 3 year old to get his hair cut here and he thought he was so cool. What a fun experience for my little man. Great service and surprisingly kid friendly.

Thank God for Kristin at GH! My teenage son was fighting me about haircuts and there was SO much drama every time we got one. We tried out Kristin at GH and now my son is super happy! Kristin encouraged him through a series of cuts, to get to a style that really flatters him, rather than just going with the path of least resistance (keeping a shaggy 'do that looked ridiculous). Kristin, THANK YOU, for making my son look respectable and starting to ASK for haircuts!

This is by far the best haircut place I've ever been to. Everything in this place is clean, the employees are happy and a joy to be around. The service is impeccable and their products are fantastic. I am very happy with this place and would recommend anyone to go here, ask for Amber when you call to make an appointment. Fantastic job all around

I sent my husband to this place in which I thought would be a wonderful experience. I paid for the most expensive haircut package which they didn't cut his hair correctly. I also paid for a manicure in which they rolled over a little table and half done his manicure, the manicurist said she couldn't cut his nails because "they were too thick" we have never heard such a thing! Lastly, I paid for the most expensive massage experience and he didn't even get that done because the masseuse "had other jobs and was unavailable" and he would have to reschedule that portion, WTH!

It was suppose to be a whole experience. (How is that so when we scheduled an appointment?) I would not recommend this place to anyone and it sure wasn't worth the money I paid. Oh one more thing, my husband did say that the inside was very nice looking.there is your one star!

I switched to them after going the cheap route left me with a bad haircut. They are on the pricer side but well worth it. Jillian has been cutting my hair for about nine months and I can't find a single thing to complain about.

This is for the newer location on independence boulevard. I went in for the "premium" service. My stylist was Megan I believe? (Short blonde hair) Everything was absolutely excellent and I look forward to seeing her again very soon! 10/10 from start to finish.

After an outpouring of community support to their former employees, GHQ has decided to drop the lawsuit against these awesome ladies. Thanks to everyone supporting them and the owners for coming to their senses.

Very overpriced. Waited over 30 minutes and I had an appointment. Paid $15+tip for a beard trim. They said a straight razor to my neck would be an additional $15+. She didn't really do anything to my beard but trim the edging areas with a buzzer. Took her 3 minutes. My beard was still straggly looking. Used a buzzer to shave my neck which was painful and dry. No offer of a dab of aftershave balm or anything. They seriously missed the mark. * I gave them two stars instead of one because I got a beer while I waited.

This is the only place in VB I will get my haircut. As an adult I got sick of the "Hooters" style barber shops that offered passable haircuts. This place is clean and professional. Everytime you check in expect a free drink. Every haircut basically cuts a wash included which I always recommend.

I needed a haircut while I was visiting in VA beach and I knew I wanted to get it cut at a salon or a barbershop. With a quick search on the YELP app GHq was one of the top recommended results and specialized only in men's haircuts and styles. They are located in the (newer part of) Landstown commons near the Farm Bureau amphitheater. Upon arriving, the look and feel to this place was really inviting and felt like a real barbershop, especially because of the old school style chairs.

The Barbershop amenities included: free wifi, a small flat screen tv, and complimentary refreshments, including some bubbly! My stylist was named Lakeisha and I chose the Traditional mens scissor style cut. This cut came with the following: a neck shave and steamed towel, shampoo and scalp treatment all for only $22! Lakeisha was friendly and made me feel at ease while she was cutting my hair. Unfortunately, the end result was just okay.

I showed her several pictures of what I wanted my hair to look like; combed over to the left and a semi hard part to the right. She styled my hair extremely wavy and puffy, nothing anything like the picture and when I got home there were a lot of uneven parts on the side and back of my head. It wasn't a terrible haircut but it also wasn't what I asked for and didn't look like the pictures I had showed her. Good service and great offerings here at a solid price but the bottom line is that I came here for a great quality cut and I didn't get that

Found these guys on Yelp. I come into town once a week from Nags Head to my VB plant to check in things. By the luck of the draw I got Tracy. Hmmmm? Was she going to be able to handle my thick platinum head of hair? They offered me a beverage complimentary, but I passed. A forth of the way through it I was saying uh oh. Halfway through I was like ok she's on it.

By the end I was like man this place has it right. Tracy is an artist. I get only one star for not tipping her more. I guess I was still in denial, and that my hair would not look the same later. It's now one day later, it looks maybe better. Dang! I'll be back for sure.
