James is the real deal. The 1st time my husband saw me after getting my haircut by James he said, "You finally found someone who really knows how to cut hair." It's a great experience every time I go. It isn't cheap, but you're worth it. :

I met Liz several months ago when I was unhappy at another salon. She took the time to listen to me, my concerns and my desired goal. 100% upfront and honest, she told me the goal was achievable, but that it would take quite a while to get there. She gave me a detailed outline of her vision and what she'd do at each visit. It was our hope to get where we wanted to be by January. Today, I left the salon with the color I'd been searching for.

Right on target, too. Moral of the story.be open and honest with your stylist. Have good conversations. Understand that she's the professional with extensive training. Trust her. Ask questions so you understand what's happening, not to be critical. And finally, smile as you leave the salon. Many thanks to Liz for her patience and expertise. I can't be happier!

I have brittle hair, thinning from meds. Will grow back. Natalie T has been awesome with ideas to appear fuller. Plus my color is always gorgeous!

Do nottttt go here! They are not understanding at all! I had a family emergency and was 10 MINUTES late! There been so many times I had to wait 5-10 mins for them but that's ok. They made a big deal and said they couldn't take me and the boss wouldn't allow them to even do the 35 mins I had! Such bad service. Just if you have kids or a family emergency they won't understand. I was a member who comes every week for the last 3-4 months and even for members it even worse! Save urself and go somewhere they value you, your family and ur loyalty!

I went to this place for a balayage and just cut of half inch of my hair. ( just the ends in the back)The balayage burns my hair. Till today I still cutting my hair myself because is falling off every time a brushed. They charged me a fortune. The " hair cut" was $80. Total $487 I couldn't believe it. Never return. First time, last time.

Totally over priced for the level and quality of service. Not sure why I continue to give this salon a chance. Most stylists who were there a long time have left and it is just not worth the time or money.

It has definitely been the worst experience I have ever had. I first bought a gift card for about a month to give them as gifts to my relatives, I made the respective online appointment two weeks previously and when I go to do my hair they tell me that it does not appear since I have been making my appointments online for a long time and this is the first Once they tell me that it is not in the system and I said ok no problem I just want my money back and they said yes.

I've been calling for more than a month to get my money back and they don't answer. Now I had to go personally and they say that they already made the bank transaction and it turns out that I do not see it in my account because they never sent it to the correct account. I said well, I am going to show them that they are wrong that the money definitely never entered my account and that the transaction came out of my card and they say that the money was sent to an account with a debit card with a totally different numbering and that now they did it and there is nothing they can do to remedy it. in conclusion they stole my money and they did absolutely nothing to solve the problem so I do never recommend this place

Sometimes get my color and haircut here. For the prices they charge the stylists are not well versed in blow drying all types of hair. Whenever I leave here I need to go home and do my hair over. Stylist: it's important to keep growing in your skill set. Keep learning.

I first went here YEARSSS ago and i have never gone anywhere else since. the place is always clean and organized. they offer free drinks and mints while you wait or to grab after service. all staff is friendly. i have never been disappointed here.

Haley is amazing! I started going to her in another salon and had to follow her when she came to TRU. She knows exactly what I want to do with my hair, even if I don't always know. She's very thorough too and does a great job of explaining everything and asking questions to make sure she knows what I'm thinking and how I want my hair. I trust her completely and I know she'll always do an amazing job. Highly recommend :

I just got the bear facial by Danielle! I know other people that go there too. The salon was so clean and just so nice. Would 100% recommend going there for any service. I'll definitely be back.

Tru lives up to its excellent reputation for quality services. Everyone who works there strives to give their clients the best customer experience. I love going to Ashley. She can do it all--from color and cut to waxing and nails. Most importantly, I have very fine hair, and Ashley knows just how to cut it so that it looks thicker. The products she has recommended have greatly helped to strengthen my hair.

My mom and I have been coming here for over 10 years now. We both go to the same hairdresser, and she has truly become like a part of the family. Though it can be a bit pricey, it is worth it because of the amazing service and quality of hair products.

Was saying at a local hotel, for a wedding at a nearby estate, and the hotel's front desk woman raved about TRU. And they had availability when I needed my appointment. So I gave it a try. I checked in right on time, filled out some unnecessary form, then waited and waited though the salon was empty. Apparently, some glitch with their computer system? Anyway, I was then taken back, had a lovely shampoo, and met the stylist.

I told her that I had a wedding, wanted volume, and that I wanted something fun. Thought that direction was enough to go off of, but what she produced was flat and boring, with the exception of little ringlet curls, just on the front ends (WTH?). I even had to point out she forgot to style the back of my head. I told her I wasn't satisfied, and she halfheartedly tried to fix it.

In hindsight, I was stupid to leave her a good tip on a bad 'do. I had no reason to write this review, especially since I live an hour away, but be forewarned about this place - it may be beautiful on the outside, but the talent isn't there to support the image.

Always so accommodating especially on Sundays when everyone else is closed. So great to have that option with my schedule. Beautiful salon and always a great experience. My favorite stylist is Ashley who always does an amazing job but they are all pleasant and all very good. Love their boutique items as well. I'm not usually one to shop in my hair salon but their items are very nice and unique.

I had the most wonderful deep tissue massage today by Diana! 100% would recommend and I will definitely be back. Thank you so much. Edit: I've now been to all massage therapists here, and I highly recommend Diana and Kristen! However, Danielle is a little too sensual for my taste; it made me a bit uncomfortable.

A big shout out goes to Joan and Shannon. I came up from Florida for a wedding. Before I left, my hairdresser really botched my hair. She put the dark color on my blonde hair and the blonde color on my dark hair. We did some corrective color before I left but didn't have time to fix it completely. I made an appointment with Joan. Joan is truly a great professional.

She fixed my hair beautifully and made it seem like it was no effort at all. Joan really saved the day. Thank you Joan you are the best. Shannon did my nails 2 weeks in a row and did a beautiful job. Thank you Shannon. Everyone at the salon from the receptionists to the shampoo gals were fantastic. I wouldn't hesitate going to this salon on my next trip up. Thank you Tru Salon

Great salon with a great staff! I frequent here as it is very convenient for me since I live in the area as well as have the ability to book all types of services in one spot! *Manicures/Pedicures- Melissa + Jenn both do amazing jobs. My nails always look awesome and last! The only thing I will say is that I would book an express pedicure and save yourself the extra $20 because the only difference is you get a leg massage.

I wish they would change that because it's a bit pricey for a classic pedicure. *Waxing Services--Ask for Danielle, she has the ability to be easy and gentle with you. Plus shape and maintain your eyebrows beautifully. Before coming to the salon, I was going to a previous place where I used to live so I am VERY particular about my eyebrows. Danielle reassured me by explaining and asking me how I want them done and sure enough they look amazing! *Facial/Massage Services--Again, Danielle does wonders when you're getting these services.

She makes sure to ask you what you need or looking for in your massage (I.e. trouble areas, ) and makes sure she gets all that tension out. I have sensitive skin, so she always gives me an amazing facial. I always leave feeling refreshed and pampered. Her knowledge and techniques are things that are very valuable when getting services--especially facials!

She always knows how to get your skin glowing! *Hair--I haven't received any cutting or color services yet but everyone on the team gives great blow outs, very friendly and accommodating. I enjoy going in every week to get these services done. The front desk is very nice and they will always try to get your appointments in. It's a great place to be especially if you need some "you" time to unwind and de-stress from the everyday routine. Highly recommended!

I have been going here for a while Natalie is great. Couldn't get appt with Natalie so I was going to try someone else. I arrived 10 minutes late for appt after I checked in they let me sit for 10 more minutes and then front desk girl told me they couldn't take me for another half hour because I was late. She also told me I probably couldn't get a blow now after my cut. Poor customer service felt like they were punishing me for being 10 minutes late. Things worked out thou found a new stylist in Somerville Safire Salon.

I don't know how to rate this salon, sometimes I have a wonderful experience here but other times not so much. The negative experiences have to typically do with scheduling, their online booking feature not working properly, the front desk being totally unaccommodaying when you are late and being argumentative. All I have to say is April is fantastic and I hate leaving her but Im not sure its worth the aggravation. The ironic thing is I've never had this problem with the Warren location, only the Branchburg location.

This is a beautiful, stylish salon with an exceptional staff! Awesome customer service from the front desk receptionists, to the hair dressers, everyone was a pleasure to be around! Got a massage by the wonderful Danielle and I recommend her to everyone she was so caring and professional all while providing great services, I absolutely enjoyed my time here and I can't wait to come back! I highly recommend this salon to all my friends and family 5 stars!

Went in to get my hair and make up done for a wedding. Asked if they could blow out my hair & curl it. They just blew it out and never curled it. I mentioned I had straight hair and that's why I wanted it curled so by the time I got to the wedding it would look like a blow out. Went to get my makeup done and the lady had no idea what she was doing.

She mentioned she was trained professional. When she stated she doesn't wear a lot of make up or doesn't like putting on fake lashes, I was a little worried. Try not to judge a book by its cover but she put my lashes on backwards. Asked for contouring and she didn't know what that was. Not sure what her definition of a trained professional is. Will say the staff is nice and clean, beautiful space. But had to go home and redo my makeup and hair. Wasn't worth the trouble. Would suggest trying another salon.

Possibly the worst haircut I have ever gotten. First time there for a haircut so I just took anyone big mistake. Will have to go elsewhere to have it redone. What a waste of 65 dollars. Facial services are good

Went in last week. Beautiful and clean place. I had an appointment with Melissa. She was fantastic. Worked with me to make to my hair look great. I fell in love with my results. I will definitely be returning back!

Very very rude, insensitive, unpolished front desk hostess named Kira, who was arrogant, dismissive, and refused to take a message for call back for the senior stylist John even though I have worked with his suggestions and service for several years. I can't imagine why they put her there, but it is this kind of people who drive business to the ground. No wonder people are leaving this place: this kind of customer service completely eclipses the talent that may lie there. Take my advice. Go to a better place.

Had my hair cut in March, the place was highly recommended, I was told that it was difficult to get an appointment with John, so I called 2 months in advance. John is a very likable person, but not good for my hair. The decor of the salon is beautiful, the girls at the reception are nice, maybe a bit cold, in snobbish way. But that is not a big deal.

The service is expensive: $70 for haircut. It was bad; When I saw the razor I screamed: NO! my hair is too fine and flat, it cannot handle the razor. He said that he knew how to use the razor. Obviously not, at least not on my hair. I looked like a doll whose hair had been cut by a 5 years old. I had to go to another hairdresser to fix the mess.
