Nicole has been braiding my hair for over 10yrs, extremely neat professional and timely. Her skills are appreciated. You will receive compliments and the quality of her braids last for as long as you keep them maintained. Worth the price, awesome service! Can't speak highly enough, recommended always.

Nicole (the owner, I'm pretty sure) at Elle braiding is fantastic! I was a first time customer that called her for a last minute appointment the afternoon of July 3rd and she took me within the hour. She took the time to understand exactly what I wanted, and she executed w perfection! Additionally she was very fast, and very cordial. We (Nicole and later her next client) had a good time chatting away while she did my hair.

My hair was braided tight (enough to stay), but not too tight (where I felt like my scalp could bleed). I requested cornrows with individual braids in the back. She took the time to line the cornrows up with the rows of braids in the back (which to me, shows the thought she put into what she was doing). I have been to two other braid salons in the area within the past six months. This is the first time that I can say I am pleased with the outcome. I highly recommend this salon, and will definitely return.

I like the work by the stylists and the atmosphere at this salon. Nicole is honest and provides great feedback. I first patronized this salon when they were in the mall and I know visit them in their new location by the old Anchor Inn. I look forward to visiting them again.

First and last time I will use this business. While the establishment is clean -- it is no longer located at the mall. I am so disappointed with the service I received, that I feel compelled to write this negative review. If you have hair shoulder length or longer, this is not the place for you. I was charged the "premium " rate as if I had the longest hair they had ever done.

More importantly, I recently removed the braids and my hair is now barely past my neck since apparently, my ends were also glued! All of my family and friends know not to go here, and now so do all of you!

I took my daughter to this salon on August 17, 2014 to get her hair braided. When setting the appointment, I was quoted a starting price of $110 although previously I paid $150 for the same service at the salon. When I arrived at the salon, the stylist quoted me $170, in which I immediately refuted that price with the fact that I had previously paid $150.

She attempted to call the owner to no avail. We agreed on the price of $150 and after 5 hours my daughter's hair was nicely braided (so I thought). The timing is not relevant to this case, as it is standard for hair braiding to take several hours. On August 18, my daughter's braids started to come out without any stress on her hair. I phoned the salon in which the owner was apologetic and asked me to bring my daughter in the next day.

I agreed and phoned in advance to set a mutually agreeable time. At this time, the owner immediately starts to talk about pricing and that $150 was not the correct price. Even if I were to pay her an additional $20 that does not negate the fact that the braids are falling out of my daughter's hair in less than 24 hours. The owner refuses to re-braid my daughter's entire head and it is completely unacceptable.

The owner started ranting and raving about people trying to "get over" on braiders, etc., when in fact, all I want is to pay for a quality service. I drove my daughter 45 minutes to this salon, as my past experience with this salon was very pleasant. It is completely unacceptable to provide sub par service to any honest paying customer. Additionally, it appears from another reviews that is salon habitually quotes one price but inflates the price at the time of service.

I have been to Elle's braid shop several time's since I have been in the area and plan to go back. Nicole, is the only one that braids my hair and she is great and very patient. I haven't really had any of the problems the second person complains about. My appt. is always on a Saturday during the morning hours and I am usually out at a reasonable time.

This review is long over due but I had my hair braided here awhile back and had an awful experience. Nicole, the girl that booked my appointment was very nice at first, but when I was dissatisfied with my hair, she did not care that I had spent over $250 for extremely bad service. The braiders acted lackadasical towards me and complained that I had too much hair.

They got very annoyed when I wanted my hair washed before having it braided. In order to get my hair washed, I had to walk around the mall with my hair looking crazy and finally found a Hair Cuttery to wash my hair so had to pay even more money. Even though I was getting a very expensive hairstyle, Nicole had a very inexperienced girl braid my hair and she did a terrible job. I would never go here again and suggest steering clear of this overpriced salon.

I would not patronize this business again after what I just experienced. I had an appointment for 10 am on a Friday to have my hair micro braided. The braider did not show up timely and did not begin until almost 11 am. Moreover, she didn't even speak once she arrived. She simply started braiding my hair. I was quoted a timeframe of 5-6 hours and approx. $180.

It ended up taking 9 hours and I paid $230! Now, my hair is not long or even thick. I have it cut into a bob above my ear so there was no reason for the appointment to last that long. PROS: * its convenient in the Wheaton Mall * easy to make an appointment * owner seems cordial and friendly CONS: * they all speak French (very loudly) to each other - ignoring the customers * they talk about you in French (I could hear them referring to microbraids and discounts and I know they were talking about me because I was the only one getting microbraids * the braiders, including the owner, are all distracted by their cell phones constantly ringing (and they answer and talk in your ear - loudly in French) I was also very disappointed in my hair.

After sitting in the chair for 9 hours and almost $250 later, I should be at least satisfied. However, the style, if you can call it that, is bad. She really didn't do anything else with my curly ends. She braided my hair down so far that the curl is only at the ends leaving the style looking awkward. Finally, despite their advertisement on their own website and despite that I printed a coupon for 10% off styles over $100, they would not honor it! Needless to say, unless you enjoy being talked about or listen to a group of women heckling for hours on end in a foreign language that you cannot understand, while completely ignoring you, and unless professionalism and good customer service are not very important to you, DO NOT GO HERE!
