Went for a much needed perm in preparation for a family reunion overseas. My old stylist was gone, they gave me another one. First sign of trouble was when she refused to tell me her vax status - which these days means only one thing. Also, she only had on a cloth mask in spite of CDC guidance to wear KN95 or N95 masks. She lied and said she had a disposable mask underneath.
My husband said I should have walked out. She did not listen to me when I said the rods were not the ones my previous stylist used. My hair came out looking horrible. Before it was dry, she started to help me put on my coat even though it was winter. I had to ask to be placed under the hood so that my hair would dry. How unprofessional. In the end, I left looking 10 years older and now will have to go somewhere to straighten my hair.
The place has no class anymore. The old crew were always well-dressed in black and white uniforms and well groomed and coiffured. My new stylist was dressed in something resembling sweats. Won't be going back.

I had been wanting to get my hair done for the longest time so I finally made an appointment with Shari yesterday and she was amazing! I'm obsessed with the coloring she did for me, the bangs are so cute, and my hair is so soft and silky! She was the sweetest stylist, highly recommend her and visiting Elegante in general. Very clean and professional salon.

So I booked an appt for a blow-out for my daughter. It's last minute since we go to Mario Tricoci. I was in the neighborhood and grateful for this unheard of place squeezing us is. Tomorrow my daughter has her 1st day of zoom high school and I realllly didnt feel like blowing her hair out after working all day. Many things wrong here at Elegante. Which is a shame bc I so wanted to give them a chance.
I am loyal to a salon (Mario T since 2004) and would consider a new place for my kid since I can't keep up with high-end prices for us both. Here's where Elegante fails and I'm actually contacting fraud with my bank. 1) They told me $38 for her blow out. When I arrived and they saw her hair, I enthusiastically thanked them for the last min booking.
I said "$38 is ok. That's on par with my salon at Mario". However, when I picked her up, they told me "due to her long hair length, it was $48". Um, her length is 3 inches past shoulders and never been told that anywhere. 2) This segues into my other issue. $10 more for length which was not disclosed before. and her hair is 3 INCHES past her shoulders. and she was done in 35 minutes.
Not kidding. 35 mins but yet I had to pay extra for length. A normal blow out is 45-60 mins. What am I paying extra for. which segues into the bigger issue. 3) The BIGGEST ISSUE. For the $47 blow out. She didn't section her hair NOR use an iron round brush. This makes no sense. I could have done it myself with a con-air hotel dryer. My daughter's hair was fluffy when we left.
Not smoothed. It was dried. Yes, shampooed and dried and thank you. It's worth $15 max. Every single stylist knows to SECTION hair and not use a WET BRUSH the whole time. Including my 14 yr old daughter. Is she spoiled at Mario or Frank Gironda? No, shes knowledgeable when mom pays a pretty penny for her hair. and I'm treating her. I expect the result "of a professional blow out". Whats the industry standard here.
If it's Fantastic Sam's, ok. Charge that then please. The reason we have never heard of Elegante salon and live next store is due to this lack of reputation. I called after we left to explain my disappointment and I received a lackluster non-caring. To the owner: fix that please. Good luck.

This is a hidden gem! I've been in the customer service field almost 20 years and can say this is some of the best service I have received. Everyone is so nice and kind. I had an amazing day pampering myself here, from a facial all the way down to the toes. Loved the treatment for every staff member involved. I don't leave reviews often but I could not pass up the opportunity to shout out the staff at Elegante Salons!

I've been here several times and ever time I have the most excellent experience with the staff. They are warm and welcoming from the second you walk in to the salon. The owner Ashley Smith is a beautiful soul. Ashley's number one goal is for her customers to have an absolutely dynamic experience, from being greeted at the door to the professional custom experience with her experienced staff of cosmetologist and all the way back to your car You'll be left feeling pampered and amazing once you leave Elegant Salon and Day Spa.

I have been going to Kim at Elegante for some years. I receive compliments on the coloring and cut. She is attentive to my comments and she provides excellent advice as to current styles that are age-appropriate and complimentary for my hair type. Excellent Salon with talented and friendly staff! For me it all started a few years ago when I was in the market for a new salon and happened upon Elegante kind of by accident. I live in Chicago, but was in Naperville and found myself with several hours to kill in between appointments after a sudden schedule change. A referral led me to call Elegante, and I got super lucky that a wonderful stylist just had an afternoon cancellation too! Holly was so great, that I've continued to see her.
And despite the distance, I make the trek for my trusted hair care. The salon itself is conveniently located with a nice size parking lot and easy to find as it's right at a fairly large intersection. Inside the salon is classy yet comfortable, and everyone who works there seems genuinely kind and happy to help. Nice selection of products- Redkin, Aquage, OPI.
And they also do nails and some waxing. Pricing seems to have increased recently, but I could be wrong- not that i could blame them as costs everywhere are increasing, but still reasonable compared to many places & near competition.

We used to go to the other location in Naperville (for 7+ years) but a stylist who we still love didn't get my daughter's hair right in mid-2016, so we had to see a "specialist" color person named Heather at this Royal St George location. She corrected the hair and my daughter was happy. HOWEVER, in Nov 2016, my daughter went back to Heather months later thinking she would have the process color written down somewhere, but NO. Heather who really thinks she is this "so-called" expert took it upon herself to not even consult with my daughter to show her any hair color swatch but just went with a very dark color which did NOT match my daughter's outgrowth (or her natural hair color) which my daughter wanted.
Anyone can see that it didn't match her eyebrows (which would be the natural color of my 19 yr old) nor did it match the hair that was growing out on the crown of her head. My daughter came home upset and felt like she got black/goth hair which is NOT what she wanted. We had to go back to have it corrected (once again), but Heather didn't really want to do it.
She tried to cancel with us prior to us going in, but we insisted she correct it and look at it. After several shampoos as that was her attempt to correct it, we were back to where we started 4-5 months earlier and they tried telling us "it will be the color you want in 2 months." Never had I heard of such a thing, nor anyone else could ever be happy with this answer or result.
Sorry but the color you want is not now, but it will be what you want in 2 months! When I asked Heather what was the color that she had my daughter at the last time we were in (4 months ago), she wouldn't answer and kept talking above me, and told me she was the color expert. My husband was brought along and he witnessed her being rude and not wanting to provide any service to help (only the shampoos--which didn't work). Finally, after hearing her talk above me again, I told her that I can talk above her too, which irked her so she said they would just refund our money.
Of course, they had to mail it to my daughter which was no problem. BUT 1-1/2 months later, and we are still waiting for the refund on the bad hair color. Kay the owner decided that she would only refund partial (because she didn't look up what my daughter paid and just thought we would go away with only the partial refund). We have been very patient waiting, but with her stalling to pay back my daughter for the refund which was promised her, we had to write to warn others. **We are still waiting for the remainder of the refund (minus the conditioner product my daughter bought).
And to top it off -- the owner kept telling me that it was only me (the mom) that didn't like my daughter's hair. I told her that wasn't true that my daughter was unhappy with her hair and that if my daughter was happy we wouldn't have come back in for Heather to correct it. What a terrible way to treat long-time customers. Customers beware!

I made a last minute appointment for a style before a party. I just wanted a simple blow out. I arrived and showed the stylist, Stewart, a photo of what I would like. While he was nice and easy to talk to, the style ended up looking nothing like the photo I showed him. When I went to pay, the worker at the register said, "$27" and Stewart said, "Wait" and then proceeded to charge me $50.
It was very awkward. I checked their website after and styles are typically $25-33. I am very disappointed in how the style turned out as well as the stylist completely taking advantage and overcharging me. I am new to the area and and will absolutely continue looking for a new salon in the area. I would not recommend Elegante.

My 5 stars is ONLY for Shari! Shari is amazing. It was the best customer service I have ever received from a hair stylist, and I have been to many. She made the entire appointment fun and relaxing. She listened very well and gave me the exact color and cut I wanted. I could not have been happier with my experience start to finish - from meeting Shari to her walking me to the counter. Thank you!

One of the best bikini waxes I've ever had. I'd gone to the same person for over 10 years, but I moved and this was close and highly rated. Gerda at the 75th St. salon is so thorough and professional, I definitely plan to return. Few estheticians include all the tricks in their services and she does. She preps, she waxes, plucks, trims, cleans, and trims. She's also super friendly. I'm very pleased.

I was referred to elegant salon by a friend who gets her nails done there and I made an appointment with Kim this afternoon for a full set and pedicure. I am very disappointed with the result of my nails the shape is terrible she rushed through the whole thing and the polish looks terrible I could've done a better job myself. She kept hurrying along throughout the appointment and complaining about how she wasn't going to have time for my pedicure. I will never go back there and I left before getting my pedicure done because I could go someplace better that is less expensive. Not impressed at all.

I was a walk in, and got an appointment later the same day with Holly. She has been with the company for 30 years so I was impressed by that. She did a great job, asked me lots of questions on what I wanted and was very knowledgable regarding color treatments. My cut and color looks great and I look forward to going back.

I haven't had much luck with stylists recently. By recently I mean since I was 12 and had my butt-length hair chopped to shoulder length. It was a pretty nice cut, if I do say so. Here I was, 22 years later, still looking for someone who can cut my unpredictable hair, and cut it in a way that not only stays where it's supposed to stay, but makes me feel good too!
I went into Elegante Salon based on Yelp reviews. From the moment I set foot in the place I felt comfortable. So much so that when Cindy (You rock, Cindy!) sat me down to ask what I wanted, I actually told her instead of giving her my usual, "Just the same but shorter, please." Cindy listened and gave me a wonderful haircut! She didn't try to push anyone else's style on me, she listened to me and worked with my hair to get it the way I wanted it.
I was so happy with this experience. Everyone in the salon was friendly, and I really enjoyed my time there! I'll go back.in fact wild horses wouldn't drag me anywhere else for a haircut now!

I started getting my waxes here because the salon is close to home and Justyna is great. She does a really good, hygienic job and is careful to get everything. It's a little awkward having somebody stare closely at your crotch to look for strays but it's better than walking out incompletely waxed, right? It IS extremely expensive however -- almost twice the price of a Brazilian elsewhere.
I also recently went there for a massage which was very nice though I occasionally wished the masseuse would have just stfu. I'm there to relax, not chat. Oh, one big annoyance, if you are a first-time client, there is a $10 off any service coupon on the website. You HAVE to print out the coupon in order to use it -- they're super anal and won't let you get the discount without a paper copy of the coupon. If you need to, there is an Office Max next door where you can print out the coupon for 10 cents. Whoohoo.

I'm not the biggest fan of Elegante. I found a great stylist there two years ago and was committed to her because she did great color, cuts, and was an all-around fun and sweet girl. She left because she hated working there and I followed her to a different salon. I loved her services, but I didn't like the salon-- I think the interior is really dated, not relaxing, and I didn't feel pampered when I went there.
The salon furniture and lighting look like they are from the 1970's. They make the employees wear uniforms and I don't get a sense of style from them. I prefer my stylist to be a little more fashion-forward and up to date with hair trends and I never got that impression from Elegante.

I just got back from getting my hair done by Cindy. I must say she is such a pleasant stylist. I first met with her two weeks ago for a consult on what I wanted to do, and went today for my appointment. She listened to me and learned the type of person I was with regards to styling and my lifestyle. She remembered everything and worked with me to make sure I left the salon happy ~ she was very successful!
I highly recommend anyone that will go to the salon to get their hair done with Cindy. She was GREAT! The salon also offers many other spa services. The aesthetician came by where I was sitting. I had some questions and she pleasantly answered everything, and provided excellent recommendations. I live in Evanston and drove all the way to Naperville to get my hair done. I certainly would do it again.

I have a crush on this salon for getting me in at short notice. My usual hairdresser (Shannon, my true love) was sick and I couldn't stand another day of gray roots and shagginess, especially with important meetings looming that week. I called the Elegante salon closer to my house and they were packed, but this location got me in the same night. Tara did a rocking job and held a normal conversation without that imfamous hairstylist strain - it must be hard to talk to new people all day long.
So there was I, sitting comfortably, getting pampered, then Josie the nail tech saunters over. "How about a complimentary nail color?" I think she said "nail color touch-up" but I'm changing it because my nails have barely been touched. I always dreamed of having my hair and hands done at the same time. I walked out brunette, with purple-back nails, and way happier than the real goth girls. So, to my Shannon, know that my little affair was more of an emergency, and don't be jealous of the three-way. I'll be back to you, my darling.

I love this place it's clean the people are great and its fun to go to the people here make you feel special and they also talk to you like you're a friend not just a customer.
