Late in posting but just reminded as I'm needing to make an apt for a touch up & just referred someone to Julie. After a horrible cut I had elsewhere, I went in looking to match my hair to a PICTURE extensions I hadn't even received yet. That's ridiculous, I know! Normally, I don't wear extensions having longer than 24 hair, but in the past I have and I'd dye my extensions to match my hair.
This poor girl was asked (but not expected) to pull off a miracle- looking at extensions I bought and reviewers photos with them in. When I tell you they couldn't have matched more perfectly if she used the same dye on my head and the extensions. I'm not exaggerating! She has a gifted eye for color. It wasn't even easy (obviously) considering it was a balayage and not even your typical ash brown but she executed it perfectly.
On top of that, she corrected my cut in a way it at least wasn't completely disconnected and I could live with it while it grew it (which it has, nicely.) I cannot recommend Julie enough. She's definitely as skilled, and as personable, as they come!

As much as I like the hair cut I left with.the color was nothing like what I asked for, and I had pictures. It's fine though, I'm not really worried about it. I am worried about the price There was no clear communication about pricing and I expected to pay maybe 150 dollars 200 tops. I have a feeling they added charges without asking first. I also made it very clear that I could not see without my glasses when I was asked if the color was okay.
By the time I was able to get my glasses on again, we were "done". I was hoping the lighting was just warm in the salon but I got to my car and it's simply. Not what I asked for. I was charged over 300 dollars for a haircut, bleaching and toning. According to the website that should have run me under 150. I'm very disappointed with this price and lack of communication.
I was there for almost 4 hours. I thought I misheard the woman at the desk when she told me my total but I paid it anyway because I was just so exhausted and when I got to my car I almost threw up looking at the receipt. Didn't exactly expect to use up half of my paycheck. I also made it very clear to the stylist that I do not usually get my hair done professionally and that I'm unfamiliar with how things are done in a fancy salon.
I guess that was a mistake on my part because I feel taken advantage of. I left a hefty tip, too because I work in the service industry. I was going to call and ask for an itemized receipt because I'm very confused as to how anything that was done all day added up to what I paid but I honestly don't want to deal with this salon again. Might still give them a call in a day or two. Sadly for me, I have anxiety so I'm naturally not confrontational.

I have been going to Michael Graham's for the past year or so, mostly for blow outs. My last several appointments have been with Marianne who really listened and delivered on how I wanted my hair styled. Also, the service with her is very relaxing. When washing my hair, she's very careful not to pull on my hair and also her scalp massage is the best!
As for hair colouring, I had a go to colourist previously but moved here and needed someone local. Elisabeth was recommended to me by another stylist at the salon and she is truly amazing! My first appointment with her was a 5 hour colour correct and she is wonderful. My natural hair is very dark and I had highlights done several months ago but wanted to go overall blonde.
My hair was different shades with parts being dark and brassy. But Elisabeth truly worked some magic both with the colour and in keeping my hair healthy. I would strongly recommend anyone interested in colouring their hair to see Elisabeth.

I'm giving this salon a one star rating not based on the haircuts I've received, but rather I'm basing it on color. I used to see Colleen for color, but she no longer works at the salon. I had "grown out my grey" and the idea was to blend it in with a color, so it would look more natural. One stylist who encouraged me to do that ended up giving me an all-over grayish color which did not suit my skin tone.
The next time I came back, I went to another stylist and asked for a color that was just a "tiny bit warmer and not red" and showed her pictures of the color I wanted. She dyed my hair red, a shade of red that looked horrible with my complexion. I was completely taken aback after she dried my hair, and told her that my hair was too red and it wasn't the color I had asked for.
She told me not to worry, that it would wash out in 15 washes, and if I really hated it to come back in for a color correction. I was completely stunned. The thought of this stylist touching my hair after that debacle of a hair color was not going to happen. Now reading other people's interactions with how the management handled their hair color issues makes me realize that I made the right decision about never going back. The amount of time, money, and effort having that hideous color corrected actually is ridiculous. I will never go back there for a color.

I went in for low lights or highlights, Danella informed me that I needed to cover my roots and that low lights and highlights would not do. So we decided to do a full hair color. I told her I wanted dark blonde or the lowest brunette color. Picture below is the result. The darkest I have never been, I look like a freak. Oh and I left the salon looking like I was out side in the humidity for hours, and I get home, I have color all over my brand new shirt. What a horrific experience. Now I don't know what to do with this god awful hair.

Terrible experience. I went for an all over hair coloring and received a root touch up. The stylist or I never discussed about having a root touch up at all. All I asked was for a lighter all over color than my original hair color(the stylist was supposed to be the educator for the salon). She did the roots and she told me to wait there and disappeared.
So I went to the reception and said I came for all over hair color the stylist only did the root touch up. I also enquired about the pricing as I only received the root touch up and the associate said it is less for root touch up. So the stylist came back and said all over hair color wouldn't look good with my hair end and that is why she only did the root touch up.
But she never mentioned that to me. But charged $87 for that. I was upset with everything happened and also the color she used on my roots were too dark than my original color, even though I was asking for lighter all over color Very unprofessional.

My stylist, Ashley, did an AMAZING job with my hair. I just moved up to the area from Florida and was really hesitant when locating a stylist. My friend referred me here and I was nervous, but Ashley did WONDERFUL. She listened to what I wanted and took extra care to ensure that it happened. I will definitely be coming back and becoming a regular!

I really wanted to love my experience at Michael Graham Salon, but ended up leaving the salon disappointed & confused instead. To add insult to injury, I left having paid nearly $400 for highlights & a trim. I have gone to other high end salons & have never paid anything close to that amount. I was originally quoted around $250 when I called to make the appointment, which still would have been too much for the services I received, but ended up paying nearly double that (they did not provide me with an itemized pricing breakdown at checkout & I did not feel comfortable disputing it in front of others at the time, although I really wish I had been brave enough to do so).
For nearly $400 (taxes & one product under $20 included), I received highlights that looked nothing like the photos I shared with the stylist or the description I gave, as well as the worst trim & blowout I have ever seen (the ends were choppy & my hair essentially looked like it is was air dried & was left frizzy). I was so unhappy & confused by the hair color that I asked the stylist to correct it.
She seemed a bit defensive about it & tried to blame me for her work, stating that she did not know that the color I was asking for is what I wanted, despite having shown her several photos of what I wanted & describing it with words. I've never had a stylist blame me for their work before & I have shown stylists at other salons the exact same photos I showed her & received satisfactory results, so I'm not sure what the disconnect was with this particular stylist.
She ultimately ended up partially correcting the color, but it still did not look anything like the photos I showed her. My poor experience was not exclusive to the stylist I worked with. I received mediocre customer service by all of the staff members I encountered. I also observed a male employee removing his mask completely while sitting at his station between clients & one customer who was not wearing a mask while getting his hair cut (there is a sign on the front door of the salon that clearly states masks are required inside).
The rest of the stylists wore their face masks with their noses exposed, which essentially defeats the purpose of wearing a mask. Additionally, I only saw one stylist sanitize her chair during the four hours I was there. No one else even bothered to sanitize their work stations/chairs between clients. All in all, I can honestly say this was the most overpriced & underwhelming salon experience I have ever had.
The combination of poor results, mediocre customer service, & completely unjustifiable pricing is just unacceptable. I will not be returning to this salon & I will certainly not recommend it to anyone.

Be careful if you see Bri - she definitely cut my hair way too short and I didn't realize it until I got home that day and couldn't even get it into a ponytail. Overall, I'm happy with the salon and have had good cuts there before. Just be cautious if you don't want all of your hair cut off. I'm happy with it now, but definitely took some getting used to.

I went here for blowdry and style. I got an appointment for Saturday afternoon at the last moment which I really want to appreciate. My stylist was Cailin and I felt she did an amazing job on styling my hair. I went to Naperville for visiting and it was raining badly the day I got my hair done. Inspite of the rain and humidity my hairstyle stayed intact for 3 consecutive days and I would like to appreciate Cailin and would definitely go bacfor her wonderful job!

I was a walk-in and saw Angela for my cut. She was super attentive, answered all my questions and my cut looks beautiful! I thought it was amazing how she did her awesome work so effortlessly. I've been dealing with issues of hair loss over the past year, and she provided solutions and customized my cut to my concerns perfectly. The salon itself is also really pretty! There's lots of space in the interior, and they're very safe and exercise COVID precautions by using dividers between each sink. Masks are mandatory.
As for products, they carry R&Co, Oribe, and Kevin Murphy as their main three hair care lines. They run promos sometimes as well, so if you need a re-up, they're an option to check out : Overall I enjoyed my experience and do think my premium cut was worth it. I will definitely be back!

Earlier this week, I started my dream job. But I desperately needed a new hair cut and being a new mom, I needed a cut that would be easy to manage and still be fashionable. I was incredibly blessed to be introduced to salon stylist, Elizabeth. Not only was she the sweetest person ever and took great care of both me and my baby, but she is by far the most talented stylist I have ever come across!
My time was limited this evening, so she quickly and professionally suggested the perfect cut. And she executed it brilliantly! 5 days later and I am still blown away by how lovely this cut lays and is so incredibly easy to style! Michael Graham is definitely my new salon and Elizabeth is officially my new stylist! Anyone would be lucky to go to her! You won't be disappointed!

I would have given no stars but that wasn't an option. I went in to get my hair colored from blonde to a warmer, darker brown. I showed several pictures. Made it very clear I did NOT want an ashy brown tone. Fast forward-over 200 later and several hours, my hair was not at all what I wanted. It was a flat brown with ash tones. It looked green.
I left hoping I could adjust. I didn't. My husband and colleagues also mentioned that it looked green. I am a lawyer working in a professional environment. It's embarrassing. I asked that it be fixed. They graciously allowed me to come back. Again, I asked for it to be "warmed up" and that it have some dimension. She low lighted it and toned it.
It looks NO different. No dimension and still green. I wrote the management asking for a refund as I have to go to another salon to get it fixed. They wouldn't refund me and offered to have another stylist fix it today or tomorrow. Well, I work downtown and will be out of town tomorrow so that isn't an option. I start a new job on Monday and I cannot go in looking like this!
I will never return. I am so disappointed and will never recommend them to anyone. Beware. Proceed at your own risk. Now I've paid over 200 for terrible hair and will be paying probably that much again to get it fixed!

My first time here was last week. We moved to Naperville recently and I was really torn about staying with my old stylist (which would be 40min away) or switching. I called at the last minute (I'm terrible at planning) and they had a spot for me. Let me just say that I had not done my hair in 5 months. It was in serious need of tlc. They got me in and did my hair exactly how I wanted it and it looks GREAT!
A nice size salon with lots of natural light. The staff is super friendly; great customer service! There is street parking and also several Free lots within a block either way.

I've been going back and forth over the last several weeks about posting this, but I'm just so frustrated with the cut I got from Angela that I had to put in my two cents. When it came time for the cut, I asked for a blunt collarbone cut- with no layers. Angela insisted on giving me "hidden layers" and this is the result. It's so choppy and the layers are most certainly not "hidden." The choppiness is hidden with curls, but I don't have the time to do that every day, so this is what my hair looks like most days. This cut is not worth the $250 I spent here.

I'm super happy with my cut and color. Angela was super sweet and did a wonderful job on my hair. Their prices are extremely reasonable and they don't get you a hassle about putting tip on a cc versus paying tips in cash. Beautiful salon, very convenient location and they were even able to see me with very little notice!

This salon is really nice. I came in for a color correction going darker from an unflattering blonde shade. It has been a stressful nightmare to cover. Cailin did an excellent job on my hair. I have been dealing with this bad highlighting job for a month now, and she made my hair this beautiful darker, warm brown. I absolutely love it! The color is very nice and compliments my skin tone nicely.
I really cannot thank her enough for making me feel and look beautiful again. Thank you so much! She did a nice blowout too on my hair, I had several compliments. I must add what a sweet person she is. Very nice and professional. Highly recommend!

Nothing but great things to say about this salon! I've been coming here for about a year now. I started off at their other salon and when Kelsie moved to the new location I had to follow. I have very thick and curly hair and Kelsie always does a great job with the color and cut and gives me exactly what I ask for, every time. I don't let anyone else touch my hair. She's a very sweet girl, I always look forward to catching up with her during my appointments!
