My review is only for the facial service I had recently. It was a very good experience, and I will be a return customer. Danuta did the facial, and I feel she is very experienced and very nice. She took her time using several special tools for cleansing, masks, exfoliating, etc. My face looked and felt amazing when she was done! I would say the best it has ever, and I've had many facials over the years.

I absolutely love her service! Rella is very professional and the best a Brazil wax and underarm wax. The pubic hair didn't grow back in 2 months-3 months. Whereas at other wax salons it grew back within about a week. Can't wait to use her other service. This woman deserves to be credited and her business as well! Her services is not overpriced; it's affordable. Just make sure you don't purchase the Groupon, just take a screenshot of the voucher and she'll honor it at no cost!

I made my first appointment ever at Salon 21 a week ago, and I was SO pleased with my haircut! Rella was my stylist. I was looking for a new short cut suitable for a woman over 60 (me), and once I gave a general idea of what I wanted, I left the rest to Rella. So happy with the results! I will certainly be returning!

Massage Only Review: (Groupon Purchase July 2021) The massage was very stressful and unenjoyable. European masseuse pressured me to add services I did not want and also pressured me to give her a big tip (which I usually do anyway). I wanted a relaxation massage instead she insisted on deep tissue and stones, talking the entire time about her own health problems and poor financial condition.
I finally asked her to stop because I came to relax and she did. It was also quite painful which I also asked her to stop but she refused, saying it's necessary and next time will be better. She seemed very qualified however the owner needs to talk to her about her hard selling, pushiness, bedside manner & lack of professionalism. It's a shame because the salon itself is beautiful and like an oasis in a strip mall.

Let me start off by saying the woman at the front desk which I'm assuming was the manager was the most condescending person. I was extremely unhappy with a botched color and cut and I was basically told it "wasn't that bad" I ended up arguing my point for about thirty minutes about my unhappy experience to the point that she ended up cutting me off and telling me "to stop my whining and she will give me a partial refund, since this is just going to ruin your day and mine too." As if her day being ruined for MY botched hair had anything to do with my refund.
Also the stylist was so kind but was very outdated. He didn't even dry my hair all the way because he clearly didn't know how to do a blow out with someone with curly hair. I left the salon with my hair still wet. Overall kind stylist (but botched my hair) and EXTREMELY rude owner. I would take your business elsewhere if you want basic respect. Pics below are what I got besides what I asked for.

I came here with a Groupon for a massage. And it was the most chaotic massage of my life. The lady wouldnt let me get a word in so I can tell her what I needed to get worked on. Instead she decided for me that shes just gonna do a full body rub down. She kept jumping from one area to the next, massage was all over the place. She kept talking over me and trying to up sell me an extra 20 dollar charge for hot stones (WHICH I TOLD HER I DID NOT WANT) and complaining about Groupon taking half the money for the entire massage.
Not to mention she grabbed my hair and started pulling it extremely painfully "to help with headache", she didnt give me a warning or asked me if its okay if she did that. I had the worst headache after she was done with the massage, and the specific area that I needed to get worked on barely got touched. so disappointing.

Review for massage only: As you can tell, I don't often provide feedback on Yelp. I felt compelled to do so after my HORRIFIC experience. Massage therapist (I think her name was Danuta) was rude and unprofessional- she shamed me for using a Groupon and demanded that I have the hot stones for an upcharge despite me saying no. Massage was completely rushed and unfocused - it didn't seem like she knew what she was doing.
She would touch my shoulder then stop and suddenly after 20 seconds of no contact she was at my foot? The kicker was when she left the room to take a phone call for 10 minutes! What? Absolutely terrible - I left WAY more stressed then when I arrived.

Critical: Professionalism worst experience i've ever had at a salon. started off by saying my hair is greasy and looks bad, and tried to tell me i shouldn't have bangs with my face shape, and tried to convince me when i insisted i like my bangs. overall very rude. haircut turned out fine but i will not be returning. Horrible experience! I had a Groupon for a massage, do not use a Groupon here, they do not understand they should treat you as if you are paying full price and they may gain a customer. I should have read the reviews on Groupon before buying as many had the same experience. They harass you to find out what you spent on the Groupon, then harass you to pay for a "better" massage- I said no three times- this continued fifteen minutes into the massage.
The room was bright and not relaxing, sheets and blanket mismatched, I worried if even clean. There was a door open to another room( a storage room?) the whole time. Therapist had mask around her chin when I got there- I had doubts she kept on during the massage. She coughed several times too! I felt like she was leaning on me when she walked around the table, She slopped dripping wet towels on my hands- it was all just odd and not professional at all. Weird loud bird noises that I think were supposed to be relaxing. I left more stressed than when I went in. This is not the place you want to get a massage!

I'm still very upset with Rella and salon 21. I was hoping that after maybe a few weeks, the skin that she tore so brutally would heal on it's own. Well, it's been 1.5 years now and that area looks like it's permanently disfigured. Probably a good inch of skin is gone. Without even giving birth. I truly regret going to her and whenever I think about it, I feel an immense amount of sadness.
I wish I could've just skipped getting that groupon. I think I should've/can take legal action. No waxer worth her salt would permanently change how you look down there by her brutal techniques. Because of Rella, I have not been waxed again out of fear and trauma. More than a year later, I still succumb to tears over the whole ordeal

I took my 6 year old daughter to get her ears pierced for the first time today. She was nervous. I was nervous. but I have to say that Rella did an amazing job! She was absolutely wonderful with my daughter. She was kind, gentle, reassuring and very patient with her! I was apprehensive about getting it done, but Rella made it a great experience! Also, the earrings look beautiful!

If this could be zero stars or negative stars it should be. Hm where to start. Basically I got a groupon as a gift and then was harassed by the massage therapist and screamed at saying I can't get the deep tissue I paid for and that I owe her 20 more dollars. She then proceeded to continue to yell at me when I told her I didn't understand because I paid for a 60 minute deep tissue.
She said I can't get that and that it was my fault because I bought a groupon. I paid $60 for a massage. I told her thank you and that I was just going to leave. She blocked the door with her body and started shouting and I began to shake and cry and ask her to please let me out. I walked to the front and was given my money back and told she'd get a talking to and that they understand her and this is normal behavior.
The owner was ok. She tried but didn't seem to be surprised or really care too much. I am in shock and I want to sue them. I read reviews about how horrible this salon is but decided to try and I beg you if you're in the same boat DO NOT EVER GO TO THIS SALON. This was the worst experience I have ever had. I am in such shock, I am still shaking.
I have never been treated so horribly or ever thought I would fear for my safety in a salon. I'm disgusted. YOUR MONEY WOULD BE BETTER SPENT LITERALLY PISSING IT AWAY. Do not go here. You will be harassed if you use a groupon or a coupon or even a gift card. Thank you salon 21 for ruining my day and for really upping the horrible customer service game. You guys are the absolute worst.

Moving into Wheaton I was looking for a Goldwell Salon. I asked for the most experienced hair stylist. I got Rella, the owner. She is fantastic! The hair color and hair cutting are better then I received in the high end Salon I wrny to in downtown Chicago. Rella is truly gifted and I am thankful to find this great Salon.

When I entered the salon I was greeted by friendly and welcoming receptionists, and was soon shown to a comfortable sofa with a nice hot drink whist waiting for my stylist to arrive. My stylist asked me what type of cut I would like, we then discussed what we thought would suit me. I was was very impressed with her professional and friendly demeanour, she made me feel relaxed and I felt assured that I would be happy with the end result.
Then the shampooist, who was sweet and chatty whilst washing my hair, gave me a lovely head massage too. After, I returned to my stylist to work her magic! I wasn't disappointed because I left the salon smiling and very pleased with my new hairstyle.! Look forward to my next appointment!

0 stars! Absolutely ridiculous experience here. Had a groupon for a massage to the try this place out. Massage therapist arrived 15 minutes late and I didn't get the full hour. The lady doing the massage was condescending toward the groupon and didn't even provide a true massage. It was a weak "rubbing" with an upcharge for hot stones that I DIDN'T ASK FOR. Worst massage ever. DO NOT COME HERE.

Got a massage from Danute and she was amazing. I started to develop a knot in my shoulder (teaching high school kids - eye roll) and a migraine. She took me and suggested a deep tissue (ouch) massage but with hot stones. It did the trick and I wasn't in a whole lot of pain. She really knows what she's doing! And she's sweet to boot - in passing the boss was pretty cool too. Very good hair products! I will definitely be coming back and bringing my husband too.

I had a spa finder gift card and took a chance getting a much needed haircut with a new stylist. Let me just say I was so impressed! They were able to fit me in on a Saturday and Lisa did a fabulous job! She was kind and welcoming. She took her time and gave me the cut I was looking fo. I got soo many compliments on my hair that evening. Lisa has found a new client in me!

Took my son in for haircut months ago and when I walked in they asked if they could help me and said yes a haircut. They said ok then asked if it was for me or him. When I said for my son they said sorry please make appointment. The entire reason I walked in is because the front door says "walk-ins welcome". 2nd time trying on a different date we "walk-in" again because other salons were closed and The lady took my son right away.
I explained his normal haircut that I haven't had issues with before. Well unfortunately I can't not post an honest review. It was crooked and looked like a trainee did it. Maybe too modern for the stylist so they had trouble? We won't be going back bummer. I was impressed with how services, hair product, wigs, and jewelry that was displayed. Also, she was very nice.

I posted my full review in photos because it was too long to post in here. Long story short, I spent three visits, nearly nine hours, almost a hundred dollars for the worst customer service of my life and the worst hair services I've ever experienced. I've worked in customer service for almost nine years and never experienced the disrespect I did in this salon.
Quick recap Visit 1 - Asked for teal highlights to be covered and trim. Left with wet shirt, wet hair and hair not styled as I asked and more taken out of my thickness than I wanted. I got home and noticed there was still a lot of teal in the sunlight. Visit 2 - Teal looked covered until I got in the sunlight the next morning. Visit 3 - Felt like my hair was going to be ripped out of my head, my hair now looks black instead of brown. Here's the conversation / most disappointing part I was on my way there and was under the impression the owner / manager would now be doing my hair.
I walked in and was greeted by a stylist and was told she'd be doing my hair. I explained I was under the impression Rella was doing my hair. Shes said she can help me but I'm doing it. Rella looked at my hair and saw the teal and said do what I told you. My stylist then said she was under the impression you were doing her hair where I was given a laugh and a oh no I'm not doing your hair and she walked away, never to speak or acknowledge me again.
The stylist then did all over color to my hair. Let's fast forward to her being done where my hair was half dry and she asks " Happy now? " filled with sass. I said not really my hair looks black. She said well the teals gone. I said right but I didn't come in asking for black hair. She said well you've got a lot of product on your head you've been here three times this week.
I said that wasn't my choice though. She said well eventually your hair will lighten up. I said well I surely hope so because this isn't what I paid for either. She told me I was free to leave now. Its a week and a day later and hair dye is still pouring out of my hair when I shower, my towels and tub are stained with the dye. If I scratch my head, hair dye is under my nails. Yes, I only use color protectant, non sulfate, salon quality hair products as well.
I also have a weird patch of color. I just wish I could have my money back, I wouldn't wish my experience to my worst enemy. I don't recommend going here to anyone. I'm still in disbelief.
