Last year when I went to this salon for an appointment I was rudely greeted at the door for bringing my 9 year old daughter and her friend with me. The owner was condescending and kept telling me that she should not be expected to watch my children. This made me very uncomfortable and very unwelcome. I only stayed because I love the service I get from one of the providers.
This went on for a while, giving me the impression that she thinks all children misbehave. My poor child felt like she was a bad person. My child happens to be extremely well behaved and has no problem sitting in a waiting room with a book or a device. I went back this year for hair services because I wanted to try a specific stylist I heard great things about.
I love my new hair stylist! She is wonderful and takes her time to do her best work. I found it very strange a couple of times when I was her last client that the owner had to stay for hours until we were finished, so she could personally cash me out. I felt like she did not trust her employees to cash out or close her business. This was confirmed this week when I made an appointment for a color and cut for both my daughter and myself.
We received our hair cut but had to reschedule for the color because my stylist did not want the owner to have to hang around while we got our color. When we came back for the second appointment, my daughter went first for color. I was then told there was no time to do my color because the owner had to leave to meet someone. I was confused as to why not just give the stylist the key to lock up rather than ask a customer to come back for yet a third time for what should have been one appointment?
I also live an hour away. I called to cancel my third appointment today and said I would not be returning because I do not like the way the business is run. The girl said okay and goodbye. I find it very upsetting that a business does not trust their employees and does not care that they have inconvenienced customers. Shouldn't an apology, discount, or something have been offered for this terrible way to treat a customer?
I now have to leave a wonderful stylist because of the way this business is run. I also have 3 days to find someone to do my color for an event I am attending. I have been to many salons following my past stylist and at each one she has had her own key and scheduled and cashed out her own customers on her personal phone. This is poor business practice to say the least.

I chose The Arthur Company Salon to do my wedding make up and hair as well as for my bridal party. It was the best decision! Lynne and her team arrived at my hotel room bright and early. They had us all laughing as we shared silly stories for the entire morning. They make you feel like best friends and have you looking amazing for your wedding day.
My girls and I took a ferry from Providence, RI to Newport, RI for the first look and our hair and make up still looked incredible by the time the night was over! Thank you so much for making me feel beautiful!

The ladies at Arthur & Company are amazing! Lynne, Meghan and Sabrina came to the Omni in Providence on my wedding day (September 24th, 2016) for hair and makeup for myself (bride) and my three bridesmaids. All of us have completely different hair (straight, really curly and short) and they did an awesome job! During my trial I was hesitant to do airbrush makeup and eyelashes but with a little convincing I decided to try them out and I am so glad I did.
The makeup was flawless, even through a little crying. I also had a spray tan a few days prior to the wedding. Again I was hesitant because I was concerned I was going to look orange, but it gave me a nice glow so that I didn't have to worry about being too pale in my open back dress. Myself and my bridesmaids received several compliments (I continue to get them as people are looking at our pictures) about what an amazing job Lynne, Meghan and Sabrina did from Arthur and Company. I walked through the door and i was greeted with a Hello. I felt very comfortable the whole time I was there. The staff there are incredible. It was the first time there and trust me this will be my salon from now on. Lynne did a great job on my hair. I love it. Im now excited to have my hair done there now for New Years. Im having an updo and I know it will come out great. I recommend this place to everyone. Next year Im getting married and this will be where the Ladies and I go.

I have not yet been to the salon, but just decided to get my hair and makeup done for my wedding in two weeks. I live out of town and was nervous about booking a salon before trying them out. I called the salon and Arthur was outstanding. I knew right when I spoke to him that I would be comfortable and confident trusting his salon with my hair, makeup and tan for the big day. I will review again after my services.

Wasn't the color that I wanted, and the cut ended up being terrible! Looked great when she styled it, but it is impossible to style now! I asked for long layers, and there are very short layers that do not style well at all! Pretty sure my before picture looked better then my after picture (which is why she didn't post it, she said she would)---Not sure I'd go back. Did very well on my eyebrows.
