I've been coming here for almost two years now, and every time I see Isabel she knows how exactly to cut my hair to compliment my face/hair type! She's great and very engaging. I always look forward to a haircut here that I schedule every four months. Thanks girl!

My regular stylist at a different salon is on maternity leave and I desperately needed a highlight and cut stat. I researched high and low and all over the place and made my appointment with Isabel. And I would give her 10 stars if I could. I don't trust many folks with my thick, long somewhat coarse hair. I explained what I wanted although not fully sure what I wanted.

She figured it out and explained options to me. My hair was getting too bleach blonde and no style. And the greys have increased unfortunately. She fixed my color/highlight, lightened my heavy hair and I loved it. My hair is refreshed and happy. I felt well taken care of and Isabel was fun to talk with and funny. Oops don't tell my other stylist I probably won't be going back to her. I'll be back to Isabel. Easy enough to make an online appointment and closer to home.

It's been on my mind to write this review, it's been 2 weeks since my first appt with the fabulous Simone (my appt was May 19th). OMG this hair appt by far was amazing. The service alone is 5 stars, then MY HAIRRRRR, babayyyy, 10 starsssss. Simone brought me back to life, I mean sis revive me. A little background, I bleached my hair and dyed it so my hair color could match my braiding hair a few months back.

I know, not the best idea. When I took my hair done, it slowly started to fall out. So I thought just start over and get the big chop (which I've done before ). However this execution and experience was by far the best. The before photos with the red circles, are the section of my hair that fell out. By the time of my hair appt, those patches were all over my head, I literally cried.

So when I say Simone revive me, I feel and felt so beautiful and sexy leaving her chair. Simone is one of those hairstylist you may want to book because I can see her booked and busy, where she might close her books to catch up with clients. She literally is just that talented. I have a big forehead and thin edges, she still manage to cut my hair without no one ever noticing that. Hopefully my video does it justice. Whichever, Simone is my official hairstylist, no one else can touch my hair. O let me not forget to mention, she dyed my hair blonde to pure perfection, how about one dye not even a need for toner. I love my hair and my experience, can you tell lol. Sidenote: I realized, I can't post videos, hopefully the photos help!

This place used to be a lovely highlight of my life to go to. It has gone downhill considerably each time I've gone there since Covid, which is really sad. I paid for an advanced haircut which before meant lots of care and communication and detail but all I got was the equivalent of a great clips experience but with nicer shampoo. I do love the shampoos they use.

My stylist didn't engage with me at all and didn't even offer to show me the back of my hair or a follow up appointment. The ambiance and decor has a threadbare vibe when before it had great energy, and felt comfortable and welcoming with tea and water for clients, magazines, etc. Now there is a couple of hard benches down the hall they have you wait at.

I won't go back. I started going there in 2013 - somewhere around there. They acted like I had never been there before too which was super weird. If you want to have a high end experience don't go here. You will be disappointed. My appointment today was with Caity.

The vibe at this salon is lovely, and my experience having color done was very spa-like from start to finish. Unfortunately, in the end, I wasn't really happy with the outcome. However, my stylist handled it really well and was very accommodating, and, well, you can't really ask for anything more than than that can you? Mistakes happen. But the customer service I received here made it more than alright. I very much appreciate the consideration and professionalism.

The first time coming to this place, I was referred by my sister, who regularly sees Angela. I have long curly hair; my hair has fallen like crazy, and my hair looked damaged from the tips. I came to Angela wanting to make some changes. My sister told me how good she was; I have to say that's an understatement; Angela is excellent Not only did she leave my hair looking amazing but feeling soft and healthy.

She looked at my facial features and advised me on the haircut that best fit me. She washed my hair, cut it, and flat iron my hair. I am super happy about my new haircut. Customer service was excellent.

Had an appointment with Raudel and I am in love! I don't have a before picture but he cut my layers since they had gotten long and gave me more volume. My color was also very yellow and brassy and he toned it down to this beautiful color. I'm super happy with this, and will probably book with him in a few months to add more of this color up top. Carolyn has magical hands, this was the first time I've ever had a haircut where someone didn't cut off more than I asked for. I was so pleased with the results, and having really thick hair she styled it in such a flattering way.

This review is only for Angela. I rarely write negative reviews. But I just finished yet again struggling to salvage a decent look out of what's left of my hair after Angela took far too much off, creating an unflattering, silly "Dutch boy" look that will take at least 6 months to grow out. But it's not even the cut I'm complaining about, it's that Angela simply didn't listen.

I tried 3 times to tell her I wanted a cut that brought out my natural body and wave. But all 3 times, she cut me off and talked over me before I could finish half a sentence. So finally I gave up and decided to simply trust her. I know that's my mistake, but I had brought and shown her 6 pics of chin length, rounded layered bobs and told her that's exactly what I wanted.

Six different pics all showing classic chin length bobs. But instead, she gave me a short pixie and my hair barely reaches bottom of my ear, at least 2.5 inches shorter than I wanted. What kind of stylist doesn't know the difference between a pixie and a bob? How could she have missed the length in each pic I showed her? I just don't get it. I've learned over the years to avoid stylists who are overly confident and don't listen well.

And it was my mistake not to have seen her for a consultation first. Had I done that, I would have realized immediately that I wasn't being heard and should go elsewhere. But I do want to stress that I have no doubt -- and other reviews will confirm this -- Angela is technically proficient. I also want to praise the salon itself for it's wonderful atmosphere and friendly, pleasant staff. Previously, Caity cut my hair twice and did a great job, can't recommend her highly enough.

Unfortunately, I think I'll need to find a new salon. I went to Vine Street for my last 2 haircuts and tried a new stylist for each visit. Everyone was professional, the space was nice, and their products were high quality. However, I've really disliked both of my haircuts from here. I asked for basically the same as what I've asked for at previous salons, but the results were not what I've received in the past.

Both cuts were shorter than requested and have had really chunky face framing that constantly gets in the way and consistently looks odd. The second time, this was made worse by the stylist insisting on cutting my hair with a middle part even though i part my hair on the side. Unfortunately, when the face framing is so much shorter and so substantial, the only thing that can fix it is time. It seems I'm stuck with another 6 months of trying to keep my hair behind my ear until I can get it fixed yet again. Really wanted to like this place.

Sadly, I had to take my rating down for this business. My original stylist moved away after 10 years of wonderful haircuts, so tried a few others. Two were mostly okay, the third stylist was great the first time and a disaster the second. Here's why: I'd asked her to please do exactly the same pixie as the first time, which was pretty dang short.

I emerged with my scalp showing through my hair, and basically a haircut I could've given myself for free, blindfolded (of course it wasn't free, it was $100 plus a 20% tip, all in cash). She'd cut my hair about 50% shorter than the first time. I was in shock and so said nothing. The next day she texted me to say that she realized she didn't do as I asked and basically, was I okay?

I figured it would grow out and would be okay in a few weeks. Well. It grew out so, so poorly -- looking like quite the hatchet job; I even had to take my own scissors to it to cure some jagged spots. It's taken eight weeks to grow enough to get a rectifying cut. I was willing to go back (sucker that I am), however in a series of texts about my next appointment, the stylist proved to be kinda weird and rude in a diva sort of way (because I failed to answer her text within 6 hours--I was on vacation and out of cell service for that day), and again not "listening" to what I was saying.

So I'm done experimenting with Vine Street Salon. Too painful an experience! (Found a GREAT lovely stylist at Keter Salon, so feel like there's a silver lining to the bad experience.)

I typically see Isabel or Raudel for haircuts in the salon. I have really thick wavy hair that can be difficult for some hair stylists, but these two can both tame my hair into something cute and manageable. Isabel, Erin, and another stylist recently did hair for 7 bridal party members onsite at my wedding venue and made us feel beautiful. When looking for wedding vendors we unfortunately found some homophobic vendors but these folks were very supportive and friendly to these two brides!

I came to the salon for a wedding updo and my stylist turned me away from the mirror and I trusted my stylist to execute my hairstyle, I should have been checking because I cried when i left. It was too late to fix anything

Angela is incredible. She took me from my natural hair to a purple to magenta fade in a single day. I absolutely love my hair and get so many compliments.

Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality I saw Raudel and he did an amazing job with my hair! I'm obnoxiously picky about my hair but he managed to do every single thing I asked for. My last appointment with him was about 2 months ago and I'm still loving how my hair looks, which, in my book, is the true test of a good hair cut.

I loved the products this salon uses- I can assure you they are high quality products because my hair felt super smooth and soft even after coloring the hair twice in a week! I went for a balayage but came out total orange and blonde with no dimensions at all. They were super nice to have scheduled for a complementary session after I was disappointed but then my hair now went from orangy blonde to chocolate and blonde highlights- yet no balayage effect from any angle. (Can't upload pics in google) I have done balayage before so can tell if is one or not! Be careful while choosing a stylist!

Super clean shop. Top notch products. Amazing, innovative styles as well as traditional, formal haircuts make it a great place to take the whole family. Informative and friendly staff always make it a pleasant experience.

Angela is a truly spectacular hair stylist! I wasn't sure about where to go from a short bob and Angela fashioned the most awesome asymetrical haircut that combines the best of both worlds (kind of Twiggy, sixties feel on the shorter side, and 1920s flapper on the longer side). I love love love my haircut! Additionally, Angela is extremely kind, patient, and visionary, and a very good conversationalist! Update: I think the manager reached out to me to fix the hair cut, said that I can book with the owner to fix my hair cut. However I called a few times, no body pick up, left them a few voice messages to schedule an appointment to fix it, sadly no body give me a call back. I rarely give any business 1 star, as I also do business and I know how challenging it is. But this is unacceptable.

John Ryan has groomed my sister's hair for years with astonishing artistry and taste. Now that my own is getting the same pro treatment I'm afraid I won't be able to go anywhere else!

Isabel is the best stylist I've found in the Bay Area. She always leaves me feeling as beautiful as I look when I leave her chair. Very friendly and professional and she always knows just how to bring my vision to life.

I love this salon and am lucky to have a great stylist named Richie. The stylists at this location provide the best personalized recommendations for products. I am always met with an amazing attitude and since I have worked with Richie my hair is very healthy, and I am in love with my hair color. We have also done a variety of colors and cuts and they were all amazing. Definitely try to schedule time with Richie if you want an amazing experience.

Got a haircut with Alicia (I think). Loved it- didn't really know what I wanted going in but she gave me exactly what I didn't know I wanted! I had never gotten a haircut in the area and was nervous going in but it was great. Really nice and welcoming- would definitely recommend going here.

Love Vine St. Salon! I've been seeing Bina for a couple years. It took me years to find someone who knew how to cut my thick, curly hair. She is super sweet, fun to talk to, her prices are amazing for the Bay Area, and I highly recommend her!

I' ve had my hair cut at Vine Street salon twice, by two different stylists and was very pleased with the results each time. From setting up the appointment by phone to meeting my new stylists, I felt very comfortable. Staff is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. They are well organized. In addition to doing a great cut, the second stylist gave me invaluable advice on how to do my own hair coloring.

They really wanted to know how I wanted my hair cut and followed my preferences. I brought a picture of my favorite hair style and the result was that both times the stylists 'got it right', much to my delight. The salon is bright and airy and imparts a friendly atmosphere. Prices are reasonable, they are incremental, depending on the stylist's years of experience. Parking is a little tough. I am impressed with them and will definitely go there again.

I have natural curls and it's extremely difficult to find a stylist who actually knows how to properly wash, cut, and style curls. The majority take the easy out and suggest blowing out the curls. I love and embrace my curls! I needed to find a stylist who had the same philosophy. Enter Lora Batiste, the owner of Vine Street Salon who has beautiful, flowing curls herself.

One visit in her chair and she rescued and revived my curls! Now after being Lora's client for over 2 yrs, my hair has never looked or felt healthier! Lora consistently manages my curls with expert skill and professional care. I could not be happier!
