Tropical Tan has been tanning Seattle customers since 1982. We plan on continuing to provide the best service, prices and equipment for our customers for many years to come. Our first store was built in the city of Shoreline back in October of 1982, we used the old wolf tanning beds that had 24 bulbs. It was then that our passion for this business started, and though we have built many more locations, changed our logo and image, and upgraded our equipment numerous times, we have never forgotten where we came from.

Most people will develop a dark tan in 10-12 sessions going 2-3 times a week. If you try to rush your tan, you will probably get burned. You should see results after each tan, and will notice good color after 3-4 sessions, with a dark tan developing within 2-4 weeks, depending on your skin type, the type of bed you use, and if you use an accelerator lotion.

Went here to get a jump on a base tan for a Hawaii trip. I found this place to be clean, well staffed and employees wearing masks whenever in a zone dealing with a customer. Reading some of the comments by others I wonder if you they are so dam frightened of covid why are you going tanning? Everything was very clean and organized and the staff were very knowledgeable and friendly.

SO disappointing. After being pressured into buying a product I didn't want, I was told it would make the cost of the unlimited membership less with purchase. only to find out it didn't make it less, the product was never in stock. I asked for a refund because I never actually received the product and never wanted it. was told to filed a claim. I did 8 months ago, and checked up on it, called the tropical tan business, and emailed.
Never once returned my calls, or email. Now have been charged for a product I did not receive nor want. And was never given a refund. HORRIBLE BUSINESS. Most times I went for a tan the employees didn't take wearing masks too seriously and often had them below there nose. Go to Dessert tan instead.

This location is one of the best, the staff are always super helpful and sweet about everything. They are always making sure us customers walk out satisfied every single visit. The salon is always kept in good shape, very clean and organized. Most rooms also have a radio that works, as well as chairs in every room. They are very informative and over all the best tanning place I have ever been to.

The only reason this place has good reviews is because they had a contest for staff rewards and "A Google User" posted several reviews 5 years ago. The staff is great. The owners are crooked. When they say that a bed has new bulbs, what they really mean is half of the bed has new bulbs.like just the top half. They also over charge and when you want to cancel they charge you a whole extra month.
This month my automatic withdrawal came out with a $20 fee added on. They said my bank refused the first attempt which isn't true. Their computer glitched and now I'm supposed to go get a letter from my bank saying the money was in there. I pay $175 a month for 3 of us. I've been going here for years and now they will lose this over a $20 fee that was their mistake in the first place. Save your sanity and go somewhere else!

The staff are always friendly and very Informative on which products work best to achieve the level of Tan I desire. I use to live in the Shoreline area and recently moved to the country. I still travel back to Shoreline several times a week just to Tan at this location. I have tired other salons but none have made me feel as comfortable as this one. The Manger Ashley and her amazing staff always offer a very friendly, clean, relaxing environment. I would highly recommend this salon to anyone looking to get their tan on

Every time I have walked into tropical tan everyone has been so welcoming and helpful. As a person of color I would walk into other tanning salon and get weird looks or no help at all. This salon has always been so neat and clean I highly recommend if you have never gone tanning this is the place to go. :

I absolutely love this salon! The ladies that work there have been wonderful, friendly, and very welcoming! Always willing to answer any questions or help you with anything! Very clean, nice beds, you get great color, always have the bulbs changed out regularly! Great prices! And can always could on them for a good deal! Which is wonderful, when you're a everyday tanner like myself! Highly recommend! They have a free week of tanning for new customers! So Walk-in & try them out!

So about 3 years ago, my husband and I came here to tan for the first time. There was a lady behind the counter, medium skin, shorter, I believe the manager at the time, anyways, there was only about one or two costumers in front of me, and it took a long time, and I wasn't really paying any attention, but it seemed as if she was in a bad mood. I was dreading going up there and making it worse by taking my time, but it wasnt my fault.
So I get up there, and she was being nice at first, but then it seemed as if she was getting irritated with me. I was very unhappy with my visit. About a year or so later, I came back when a tall, darker, but not too dark, skinny woman was working. I believe she was the owner, but maybe she was a regular employee, who knows! Anyways, she was very nice.
She gave me a walk through of all the beds, and asked me very helpful questions. She seemed to explain better than the one from the last time and she actually got off her chair, unlike the other employee. This changed my whole attitude for this place! I came back one more time before I moved to Montana, and it was the rude girl from three years ago. I was so shocked she still had her job! This time though, her attitude was a lot nicer towards me. Thanks for the time gals! :
