Oliver's Hair Salon

I have been going to Oliver's Salon for several years now and it's long overdue for me to write a review. Staff at this salon are friendly, professional and efficient. I get my hair styled by Amy and she is a wizard at taking my mop and turning it into a stylish, gorgeous hairdo that makes me feel like a new woman. Her skills at color particularly, take my hair from drab and dull, to a bright and beautiful blonde that I love and most importantly, so does my husband! Book an appointment at Oliver's and ask for Amy- you won't regret it!

Thought the shop was professional and did a great job for awhile.that changed.gladly taking my money elsewhere

DO NOT COME HERE! Horrible service! The owner only cares about money and steals money from their stylists and costumers! Please take your hard earned money to other salons that deserve it, where they won't take advantage of you and actually care about your hair!

They say $157 for babylights and charged me $230. Said it was for toner. Everyone knows toner comes with highlights. Then cut hair when didn't want it. Stylist ok but lady at entrance was rude. Regretfully can not return. Service: Highlights

Maribel is the best for short haircuts on women! She is so patient and always pleasent! The salon in general is very nice, always clean, has a ton of stations, and people there seem generally happy. I am very happy to have found it!

Hi Me and my friend had a haircut at olivers today Overland park I had a layercut and person did a decent job with the service bit I would like to bring to notice that I was left with the wet hair. I asked just to dry the hair so I won't catch cold since it's pretty cold outside.with out the knowledge I was charged 55$ for the whole service. I asked at the reception but the staff was pretty rude and didn't even bother to explain. I would never visit olivers again for the rude behavior to the customer

I love this salon. Ken has been working there for 14 yrs. He is absolutely professional. I am worried for cutting short close to ear. But it turns out so good. The price definitely worths it because I pay for the professional service. Services: Hairstyling, Haircut

Absolutely adore my hair. Laura cut and colored it with a blonde balayge and it looks fantastic. Not the cheapest place in town, but if you're looking for quality it is well worth the price. Highly recommended.

Been there a few times now and both times had a great experience with very nice hairdressers and the atmosphere is bright and welcoming. I have very thick and course hair and have had a good haircut both times, which doesn't always happen with my type of hair. Never felt rushed and it's not an uppity feeling in there like some salons.

Daughters went here for haircuts and blowouts. They loved it. Prompt and friendly service. Mid price cost for hair. Recommend. Able to get in last minute and had service with a smile.

Lindsey did a phenomenal job with my hair. She really listened to what I wanted and modified it to my hair type. Also, it had a pleasant atmosphere and reasonably priced

Went for the first time today. Called at opening this am and was able to get in same day. I hadn't had my hair cut since way before Covid so I was in sad shape! I got in with Aren and he was super friendly and knowledgeable. He asked lots of questions to make sure what I wanted and didn't want and normal day getting ready type questions. Loved that. I will go back. Loved my haircut and my stylist was super!

The hair cut is decent but worst eyebrow wax ever! Very uneven, still long because she didn't trim, my right eyebrow is straight and I use to have perfect arches they also refused to give me a refund

I hadn't had a haircut or highlights for three months due to Covid19. Jennifer did an awesome job. Love my cut and highlights. Even with all her Covid19 gear on, she made it a great experience. Everyone in the salon was doing a great job of following guidelines. I felt very safe. On my way out I scheduled my next appointment. Thanks Jennifer.

I really like the way my stylist Jamie cuts my hair - she does a really good job. She is always super friendly and bubbly, her and I get along great. However, I have noticed the girls at the front can be a bit rude. You have to schedule really far out and changing an appointment can be a hassle as there is usually nothing available. This is an Aveda salon and so it is expensive - both products and services.

I just get a cut and not a blowout as that can really add up. They do have a nice selection of products that are available right in the front. If I ever have questions Jamie is very knowledgeable and she is not at all pushy in order to sell product.

It was awesome that I got in, took a little longer than I expected but Amy was very nice I know we were press for time but she did her best and I appreciate that. definitely will be my plan B girl.

My poor daughter.came home with this awful cut. She told the stylist a shoulder length trim and got a chop, chop! Looks terrible--so uneven. I think I could have done better in the dark.

I've been coming here since I moved to KC five years ago. I love everything about this salon. Megan is the absolute best!

I've been going to Ken for mostly cuts and once color and he does a great job on both. I just don't do color there typically because of the cost. It's great because you can go without a blow dry and save alot of money. He never tries to upsell me products, ever. My daughter did get a horrible color (bilage) from someone there but I can't remember her name. My daughters hair was just about green. But, Ken is terrific!

This is really not a review that I wanted to write. But I really think it needed to be done. I recently was gifted a highlight and cut package by a family member for my upcoming graduation. I am not exaggerating when I say it was the worst salon experience I've had in my life. And I've literally had box color turn out better. The salon itself seems to have mostly older stylists and clientele; many stylists were sitting down while cutting and styling hair. it was just really odd.

My stylist was very nice, and is the reason I was refraining to write this review, but leaving that place I was shocked at the way my hair turned out. Before my appointment, my hair was medium length, very healthy hair that had absolutely no color on it. I had asked for a few natural looking highlights. My hair now has orange streaks, is extremely brittle, always tangled, and feels like straw.

My hair was processing with bleach on it for what was upwards of an hour. For whatever reason my hair wasn't lifting and bleach was reapplied, I sat for another 15 minutes, finally my hair was rinsed. It wasn't at all what I asked for, the highlights are so unappealing. I literally immediately went to Sally's and am in the process of trying to fix the huge disaster which is my hair.

I would not recommend this establishment to anyone. I would not have paid for this service, they ended up charging extra for toner (which is almost always necessary), they even tried to sell purple shampoo to me to keep the integrity of my highlights. Sorry, I'm trying to cover them up not keep them!

Been going here for 4+ years. Loved my first stylist and she left to have a baby but left recommendations for all her clients and it's been great. Also donated to locks of love with them and they made it super easy. I had very long hair and they always did a great job. Got it cut very short and have gotten tons of compliments each way!

When i went for my appt lara acted like she was doing me a favor to even speak to me. She was very condescending about what i wanted (cut /color). Because she took 21/2 hrs to do a simple color i had to cancel my cut. When i checked out i was charged twice the price lara had told me earlier. 125. For a highlight, no cut no dry. Olivers needs a dose of reality - This is kansas city not New York.

I have been a client at Oliver's for as long as I can remember. Starting in middle school, I would go there for my haircuts. I started going to Skyline Salon in downtown KC because of their reviews. However, I will not be going to Olivers again. My sister had seen Laura, the master colorist, for balayage as well as many other services so she recommended me to her.

I had been to Laura 3 months prior for a toner and blow dry and she was great! However this time, I got ripped off. First of all, they try to upsell eveything and they do NOT tell you THERE IS A CHARGE FOR IT. I scheduled a color, hair cut and blow dry. I wanted to go back to my natural color so there was just one color laura had to mix up. I had shorter hair and I got charged for a long hair extra color surcharge.

Then Laura proceeds to tell me that my hair is damaged and I need to get a deep conditioner. She didn't tell me there was an extra cost to the deep conditioner instead of a regular one. Then, after my hair cut she tells me if I was okay with my hair being flat ironed because she needed to have smoothed out hair to take off my damaged ends and I said sure why not WITHOUT KNOWING THEY CHARGE FOR USING A HOT TOOL ON TOP OF THE BLOW DRY.

How ridiculous is that? I didn't even want my hair flat ironed but she said she needed to so she would be able to cut the ends off. I got charged 191 dollars for a haircut, blow dry and an all over color. The random extra charges were extra color, deep conditioner AND a finishing fee (for using the flat iron). I will not be back. This is how they make their money- telling you that you need something without telling you there is an extra cost to it. I'm sorry but what salon charges for using a hot tool on top of the blow dry service charge (when I didn't even ask for my hair to be flat ironed). Laura was also cold and standoffish during the service.

She didn't make any conversation and seemed like she was doing a chore. I would advise not to go here unless you want them to use their tricks for making money. If you're young- don't go here either. My experience tells me it's a salon for moms.

Great place. Called them because i was close and needed pedi roght away. The had an opening within 10 minutes for me. Terry was awesome, listened to all of my concerns and problems and resolved them all. Highly recommend.

Damaged my hair beyond repair! Refused to call back or even address. Don't waste your money! Plenty of saloons with higher standards.

I was in town and decided to treat myself to a facial (something I haven't done in years!) Karlie was great - professional, sweet and took great care of me! The front desk folks were sweet and thoughtful as well! I highly recommend this gem!

People used to call me names (hairy monster, yeti, ass-hair head, etc.), they would throw sticks at me on the street, and parents would cover their children's eyes when passing me in public. Since going to Kyla I've successfully tricked a woman into marrying me, doubled my production at work, and I have a more fulfilling and exciting life. This place will make your wildest dreams come true.

I've been to Olivers twice for a hair cut. The first time I loved my new look so I made another appointment with the same stylist. I was not that satisfied with rhe cut from the begining but thought I'll give it a couple of weeks and see. 2 weeks later I still didn't like it. I called to see if I could get in to have it "tweeked" no problem could get me in that day Great!

But would be charged for a regular cut and blow dry $60.00. I feel I should have been compensated because I wasn't satisfied from the beginning which I told them. Even thought I wanted to give the stylist a chance to "fix" the problem, I will not ne going back, they don't stand behind their product.

I just got a facial done today and the esthetician did a great job! I came in just to pamper myself from a stressful month but I got really good information about what my skin is like And how to care for it. I left feeling so much better and my skin doesn't look as bad as it did when I walked in. My esthetician seemed very knowledgable and knew what she was doing.

She educated me very well on how i can get better result with my skin. She shared with me products but never made me feel forced to buy them. I bought them anyways: well I brought a couple. My only complaint is that when I was in the room, I heard very clearly the employees talking right outside the door. It didn't bother me too much but it would probably have given this review a five star instead of four if that didn't happen. I'll probably go back again for a different treatment.
