I've been coming to True for haircuts for years. Jodie has always done an amazing job on my hair, and I vowed I would never get a haircut by anyone else ever again. I desperately needed a vacation haircut and unfortunately Jodie wasn't available, so I saw Arlene. This is honestly the best haircut I've ever had. She did exactly as I asked.

I have curly hair so I've always been cautioned about layering my hair, but I know my hair, have had layers in the past, and know that they work on my hair. Arlene gave me layers without hesitation, and my hair looks great. I'm such a happy camper right now! I highly recommend either Jodie or Arlene. They both do short'ish hair with texturizing and layers really well. Jodie's razor skills are amazing.

I've been coming to True Salon for years and have had color correction, balayage, haircuts, and toners done here and it's always been a great experience! Arlene is friendly, so sweet, personable, and makes my hair look incredible. I'd highly recommend True Salon and Arlene for anyone wanting to get their hair colored, cut, or maintain the color you have.

They cancelled my appointment 30 minutes before saying the prior customer wanted additional services. Which is unethical and un- professional. They are not even apologetic for doing so. I had an important event to attend and booked my appointment way before. Will never go to this Salon again

Jodi is an amazing stylist. She understands YOUR hair and makes it look the way you want it to look! She gently teaches you how to take care of YOUR hair and makes suggestions that you can or don't have to accept. I love her easy-going approach and her kind nature. She gets the job done efficiently and precisely and you feel relaxed when you leave. BEST STYLIST EVER.

I have been coming to True and Arlene Colon for more than 5 years. She is such an amazing professional; dedicated to learning, really in touch with her clients, and super creative with ideas about how to evolve your look. I recommend Arlene to all my friends, male or female, because she is delightful, deep in her craft, and is committed to her clients.

I also love the atmosphere at True. It's elevated without being stuffy, and you can relax, get some work done, or just chill out with a tea/coffee/drink. I went in for a cut and color, and Kirsten did not disappoint. She is personable, professional, and really cares about how you feel and look when you leave. This was my first time at this location, and I found it to have a relaxed atmosphere, with a friendly vibe from the clients and staff. They also have a nespresso machine!

This salon is extremely unprofessional and lacking common courtesy. Unfortunately I didn't even get a chance to visit because 1) my first appt was canceled last minute 1 hour before (stylist left the salon, which is fine, things happen). So I was rescheduled for a Sunday at 2pm and when I arrived the doors were locked, the salon was completely closed, and no one had answered the phone.

I even got a text confirming my appt that morning as well as a phone call confirming beforehand a couple days earlier so I know it wasn't my mistake. I had waited around for 10 min and no one showed up. I drove all the way from the east bay as well solely to get my hair done (40 miles round trip plus bridge fees) so a simple phone call would have been appreciated. Total waste and extremely disappointed with this salon.

The salon is nice and my services were well done. However, I came in after a year of doing my own hair for corona virus, in order to get it properly done. Knowing it had been awhile, I was expecting a little bit of an overhaul and asked for a balayage. Looking at their website I was expecting this cost to be around 300-400, including cut and tip max.

When I have gotten a color correction before in the area, that was the price I paid. I have fine hair that is medium length that is not particularly challenging to color. The appointment took 7 hours long (which was unexpected) and in the end I was charged by hour, resulting in an $800 appointment. That was personally far out of my price range and I was upset to learn of that price tag after the service, especially given that it didn't match the website. Before going to the salon, and getting services, make sure you check prices individually with each stylist. I know I will not be going back because of this.

I had a haircut here with Jodi and I enjoy the results. I have difficult to work with hair in that I just have a lot of it, and so it takes a looong time to cut properly. I know now to warn hair salons before I come. True Salon accommodated that well in their schedule, and so I was able to spend almost a full 2 hours in the chair without impacting other clients. Jodi made sure to cut my huge mop of overgrown quarantine hair properly and without rushing.

She got it to the *exact* length I wanted too. In other salons I've had mysterious extra charges show up on my bill because of how much hair I have, but not at True. (No seriously, I have had 3 different salons tack on an ~$20 additional fee into my bill in the past). At True, they charged me the price they quoted me on the phone when I called.

I appreciated that. Jodi made really great conversation at the chair which helped me feel as comfortable as an anxious person getting a big cut can, and even got my hair ready for an interview later that day (which I landed- must have been the hair that did it!) Jodi is able to offer razor cuts and recommended this style cut for my hair. I've had razor cuts in the past and am a bit of a skeptic based on previous results, but my hair grows fast enough that I like to just listen to stylists suggestions. I've not been converted.

The shape and style of the cut are good, but I feel as though my hair has acted up more in areas than previous cuts. It's more frizzy. It just looks unfinished unless I put in product or style it a bit, and I'm hopeless at that. I personally need more of a low maintenance style, and I haven't had one since my last scissor cut. I would go back to Jodi, but I'm absolutely never getting a razor cut again. If you like a more trendy whispy look then please do try it, but it just isn't right for my hair.

ARLENE IS THE BEST! I came in so embarrassed with my hair messing my hair up during covid and not only did she absolutely save it, my hair looks better than it ever has and I truly left happier than ever. Thank you Arlene! Also true is incredibly Covid safe and was amazing at making myself feel comfortable. Will be back! Ask for Arlene!

The salon is always clean and tidy. Staff is always friendly, professional and helpful. My hairstylist is superb and considers my desires over everything else. If my wishes aren't the best thought out she still makes my hair look fantastic. Service: Haircut

Michelle did an awesome job cutting my hair! It was an awkward mess from a previous haircut and I'm very pleased with the way she fixed it up. She was friendly and listened to my requests.

Arlene is the absolute best! I have been seeing her now for over 5 years. She is always patient with me and my crazy requests. I've had all lengths of hair and she knows how to cut any style. She is fabulous with fun color, balayage highlights. I trust her completely and now drive from SF to PA just for her. She also recommended a scalp treatment shampoo/conditioner which really helped with my dandruff. Love the ladies here and hope you try them!

I love this neighborhood salon. The highest quality hair stylists in Palo Alto, and I've been to many. Kimberly Miner is awesome for color. Lori the owner is awesome for cuts and color. Really cute snacks and drinks station including cucumber water. (Pre-Covid days). Lani at front desk is Very welcoming and warm. I discovered their hair products are great.

This review is long overdue! I can say without a doubt that True Salon trumps all others. Arlene is my favorite; of course she was who did my hair. However, I believe they're all talented there (and are held to high standards which constantly delivers). It is a clean, tidy, modern, stylish, fresh and NOT a stuffy salon. You feel at home and welcome. You're recognized when you return.

Support your local small business owners while you're at it! I've been going there for about 5 years and love them. I'd still be going there if I hadn't moved away this year. Kayla is a lifesaver! She brought my hair back to life. Gave me the perfect shade of highlights and a much needed haircut! Definitely my go to from now on. Highly recommend.

This review is for Kimberly who gave me lovely balayage highlights and baby lights over the course of two appointments. She went above and beyond to make sure I was in love with my hair (and I absolutely am!).

Kim is absolutely incredible and here's why. I met Kim for the first time last September because I was looking for a new salon and a co-worker recommended True Salon to me (which was a convenient spot near the Cal Ave CalTrain station). I wanted to get balayage done to my hair for the first time so before committing to anything, I started researching it.

The best advice I found was to look at the photos that hair stylists post of their work to see if they can do a range of balayage, not just the same colors on everyone. So as I started to look at True Salon's yelp photos, I kept noticing this amazing work that had been done by Kim. So naturally, I booked my appointment with Kim and I was not disappointed! Kim greeted me with a warm smile and tons of patience as I tried to explain what I wanted done (I'm not always the best at explaining my thoughts).

She asked me some questions to get a sense of what I was hoping for and I showed her some photos of what I liked, and then she started the process. The end result was an incredible hair style and balayage that looked amazing! I cannot tell you how many compliments I got on my hair and how many people I just gushed to about Kim. She's a great person who is incredibly talented and will make you look and feel like a million bucks.

I saw her a couple of months ago and now just booked another appointment with her. She always provides a wonderful experience and I always look forward to seeing her. If you need a new hair stylist or want to try a new hair stylist, you should definitely schedule a service with Kim. You'll be so happy that you did!

Kimberly is the bomb. I was not too sure what I wanted, but she took care of it for me. She took very good care of my fine hair. I was treated well, and my hair looks amazing. I love my balayage and babylights! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted and treated well. She was friendly and took her time with my hair. I can't wait to come back and have her color me up again!

I came to True Salon because my favorite stylist, Shannon, was now working here. I scheduled an appointment for a haircut and a partial balyage via email- the process was easy and pleasant, and the time I requested was held for me until I confirmed which I really appreciated. I scheduled my appointment for a Saturday morning, which was good because it was going to take a few hours.

The salon is very cute, cozy, and comfortable. I tend to get extremely antsy during long appointments, but this space was calming and comfortable enough that I didn't feel too bad. There is music, coffee and tea, and the stylists are wonderful to talk to. My hair turned out exactly how I wanted it. Shannon always does a fantastic job, and I really enjoyed the entire experience. I would highly recommend a haircut at True Salon with Shannon to anyone.

If you're the type of person that's super particular about their hair, come to this salon. The price isn't that bad or hefty considering the quality of the work. And although I've had short hair a number of times, I went into True Salon wanting something more edgy than crisp and clean. Jodi was my hairstylist, who was actually so helpful in helping me pick out the right hairstyle and she patiently explained the various methods of cutting it.

She was very gentle and patient throughout the whole process. The end result is sooooo amazing! Usually I never like how my hair looks right after a cut, but I like how it looks after a week. She did such a stellar job and I've never had my DM's flooded with so many messages. I've received more DM's about my hair than about my dog and he's pretty cute. If this haircut doesn't get me a boyfriend, I don't know what can!

Hair by Kimberly, Greenstar marketing voucher at a street fair. See photos for proof. When purchasing the voucher my hair was down so we discussed that there would be no problem or additional cost for the long length. By text the appointment was made for the deep conditioning-blow out-and style as stated on the voucher. Also an appointment for color and cut for my mom with no voucher to be done at the same time.

Very nice salon and pleasantly greeted upon arrival. Kimberly then came out and that's when it went downhill. She looked me up and down with such a distasteful look it was uncomfortable. My hair os past my butt and she quickly snapped "I only have time for a blow out as that is what the schedule says" my hair was dry (see visit a) Voucher is for the service i scheduled not a blow out!

We both walked out so instead of making money on my moms time while doing my she lost both. I have never ever been treated so poorly at any salon. Truth be told someone that rude and unhappy isn't capable of providing not only a pleasant experience but any type of professional hair style.

I've been going to Lori Romero for over 15 years, and her salon is fantastic. Woman-owned, super chic cuts and color, but also down to earth and friendly. They are the best, and Lori went out of her way to squeeze me in one time before I had to get a medical procedure, and it meant a lot to me. I love True Salon! They carry B&B and Oribe products.

I've been coming to True Salon for a few years off and on, and have had some great cuts. A few stylists have moved on, but Kimberly is still there and gave me a great layered cut. She listened to my concerns and I left liking my hair a lot. I do hop around to other salons some, but returned today for a trim and color consult. I was scheduled with Chelsa, and after discussing color, I decided to try out a partial balayage on my virgin hair.

I was really excited once I made the decision and felt I was in good hands! The cut Chelsa gave me was exactly what I asked for. She had great suggestions and kept as much length as she could since I'm in between growing out damaged hair. I had been blow-drying the past ten years basically, but for the past three months trying curly girl methods to embrace my 2a/2b hair.

Regarding styling at the end of my appointment, I didn't have a lot of guidance for Chelsa since I'm still learning what works for my hair, and we tried a few products that just didn't do the trick for my curls. She was really patient and open to any feedback I had, and hopefully next time I'll have a better idea how to handle my hair at a salon! So, I got home to rework my hair to bring out my curls a bit with products I'm getting decent results with so far.

I already liked the color, but after reworking the curls, and although they aren't as clumped in the picture as they were at first (still learning), I'm really very happy with it! It's really tasteful and simple, and I think it suits me well and looks natural. My husband thought it looked good as soon as he saw it, noting both the cut and color are working well with my new curly style. Great work from Chelsa! Thank you! I'm looking forward to going back and maybe adding a third color.

I was trying to get some work done but my bangs kept falling in front of my eyes and they were bothering me like crazy! I got up from my desk and came down here to ask how much their bang trims were. The pricing for a bang trim was right up my alley, so I didn't even bother to ask around at the other salons in the area. I was able to get seated really quickly and Arlen helped me with my bangs.

She started the trim by asking how much hair I wanted trimmed and style. She checked in with me to see if I liked the length and upon my reply, she trimmed a little more until my liking. I'm really sensitive when it comes to my bangs and I've gone to places where they've cut it super short and ugly but my experience here was amazing and I LOVE MY BANGS!

I felt so much more relaxed and happy after my trim cuz they were no longer bothering me. The staff at this salon were friendly and super accommodating! I can't wait to come here for a haircut next time, especially since it's so close and the staff are so quick!

I've been coming here since the beginning of the year, and so far my experience has been great! As a man who previously didn't have much guidance or perspective on how to do my hair, I figured going to the pros would be my best bet. My first visit was fantastic! I got a new haircut and style that works for me and is easy to maintain. I also got some great shampoo and styling gel that, despite it's higher than I usually pay price, has lasted quite well and done wonders for my hair.

Ever since going here, I have received many compliments and second looks : I'd highly recommend True Salon as a great place for men to get quality haircuts, styling and advice.
