I love jasmine! If you have curls of any type, Jasmine will make you like fiiiiiine as hell. She saved my curls and have taught me so much about what I need to take of my hair. 10/5 stars

My wife had a stroke a year ago just at the beginning of the pandemic. With the isolation and the lockdown in her care facility, her hair had gotten out of control and had grown long and uncomfortable. I made an appointment with Don and he did an absolutely fabulous job of bringing her natural curl and making her look and feel the fabulous woman she is.

Parker and Josetta have been my cut & color team for over 15 years, even after I moved to North Portland. It's like no other salon I've been to before. Only positive, happy, highly-talented people work here. I would have total confidence booking with anyone on staff. I always leave with my hair & spirit rejuvenated. I love coming to this salon!

Jasmine is a goddess for curly hair. I'd been trying out salons in Corvallis with no luck. You know when you have curls and someone cuts into them as though you had straight hair and it's a mess? That was me. An hour later I left EW with softly defined curls. Jasmine also taught me how to style my hair in different ways, and how to use the Ouidad products. Long story made short - this woman knows curls.

So, I gotta say, I had my hair done a week or so ago by two ladies-Rhonda colored, and Jasmine did a Ouidad cut. I was there about 4.5 hours, and I tell you, I absolutely love my hair! So worth it! I am super happy to have found these talented ladies!

Rob did an awesome job styling my hair. From the moment that I sat down, he asked what I was looking for, and was able to interpret what I couldn't quite put into words. He then took his time, rather than the normal run-of-the-mill, cheap haircuts. The style came out exactly how I wanted it, and I'll happily be driving the 30 minutes each month to see him again.

I cannot recommend this hair salon enough! It's very rare that I leave a hair salon feeling happy and excited about my cut, and that is exactly how I felt after having Parker cut my hair. He took his time to understand what I wanted in a cut and he was able to achieve exactly that. He took his time during my cut and not once did I feel like he was rushing. Five stars, for sure!

I LOVE getting my hair done at Edward Wadsworth! I do cuts with Parker & Balayage with Windy (although I've been to a few of their stylists and they were all great) I love how friendly everyone is, not only to their clients but also to each other. I've been to salons with a lot of tension into the air, but you just get the feeling that everyone is really happy to be at EW!

I usually go with a natural look, but I'm kinda picky about exactly what I want done. Parker and Windy always take the time to listen to exactly what I want and they really pay attention to detail. I always leave feeling great and excited about my hair!

For 20 years plus I've been going to Edward Wadsworth for hair. For years prior I frequented the new and trendy salons downtown. After going to EW for the first time, I never went anywhere else. I've never had one bad experience and I'm there every five weeks. Everyone is extremely professional and detail oriented. You can go to any stylist at EW.

They are a wealth of information and passionate about what they do. Stylist remain current with all of the training they attend throughout the year all over the U.S. They are ahead of the curve with up and coming styles and colors trends. Difficult hair? No worries, they've got you covered. EW offers specialist who are trained to cut curly hair or thick hair, which is what I have.

You will always have options at this salon, with new products and add-on services if you choose. Everyone who works there is fun and creative. I see clients of all ages when I am there. You will never be rushed and they listen to your concerns and what you want in a style and color. I've changed my hair frequently. So many colors, styles, lengths and trends.

I've always walked out happy. They are fabulous at fixing issues that may have been as a result of a bad salon experience. I've also gone there for special occasion blowouts or up do's. If you ever feel unhappy about your experience, do not hesitate to let them know. Customer service is important to this salon and they will work with you to achieve a great result. They are competitively priced. The atmosphere is hip and the music is always great! I highly recommend.

The top-notch customer service started before I even entered the salon. I had a wonderful experience today as a first time client. Everyone was welcoming and friendly. Parker was outstanding! He took the time to make sure we were both on the same page before getting started. He worked like a perfectionist to give me an amazing new style. Everything about this place is fantastic!

I've been a client here since 2003 and now I work here of course I think it's the best salon in all of Portland, our staff is talented and friendly we pride ourselves here for the service we all provide we want all of our clients to feel good and happy after a visit here at Edward Wadsworth.

Colored by Richard and cut by Parker and both men were very talented and friendly. The best part of the experience was saying 2-3 points of what I wanted and having BOTH understand and deliver exactly that- which until now I thought what I imagined was impossible for my hair type. Sublime experience! Best service and atmosphere of any salon- not stuffy/noisy but relaxed/happy/friendly. I am in love with my hair again after a couple years of disastrous salon experiences. Beautiful! First time there, and had an amazing experience! Everyone there was nice, friendly, and professional! I would definitely recommend! Rob was amazing! He did such a wonderful work and really took the time to pay attention to my needs and made sure I was happy with my haircut!

Been here twice. Had my hair done by Don first time when I came I had a very long hair he did a great job. Second time when I came in to get a short cut for a haircut that expensive I expected a much better job to be done. Since he curled my hair at end I didn't realize he cut a layer on one side and left the other with no layer since it was a straight across cut.

But anyway that made me upset he did not take the time to get it done right and seemed in a hurry and talked my ears off when I just wanted to sit quietly. Not to mention the haircut was no where near what I wanted when u get a short haircut u don't want much fixed or else you be left with no hair. If you want a perfect hair color get it done by Richard he's done the color twice for me, it was perfect each time!

What a terrible experience. Let me first say, I have never written a negative review. I reserve Yelp reviews for making sure positive experiences are rewarded and the businesses I go to know they're great. This one is an exception. I spent a lot of time yesterday researching salons that did hair extensions as I was hoping to get them done by next week. Knowing I have to do a consultation first for the hair to be ordered, and that today was my only day to make that happen, it was important that I get an appointment today.

After lots of research, I got an appointment with Jasmine for a consultation. I took time off work and drove the 20 minutes - each way (in the snow) - to make my appointment. Once I got there, they kept me waiting - which is not usually a big deal to me as long as I know I'm going to get service at some point. After a 15 minute wait, Jasmine sat me down for another 15 minutes just to try to talk me out of extensions.

Once I made it clear that I was set on them, she told me I should probably go to a salon that specializes in them. Why on earth would you have me come all the way in if it's a service you're unwilling to provide? She told me it's a service they're trying to phase out. They could have just told me that on the phone instead of wasting my time like that! I would have spent my time yesterday securing an appointment at a salon willing to take my money. Now I likely won't be able to get this done in time.

I was a client of EW for over 20 years before moving to San Francisco in 2005. In all that time, through new staff, remodeling and service changes, I NEVER had a problem with the Salon. Oh yes, sometime a cut wasn't quite right but it was corrected immediately. They always considered my busy life and my inability to style my hair. Nothing was complicated and I went through dozens of different looks, from Dorothy Hamill to Exotica.which I loved.

In the beginning Ed Wadsworth cut and colored my hair. After he died, Don did the cut and his colorist, Taylor, did her magic. I went from blonde to natural then red. I still use Taylor's Wella Red Formula and am always complimented here in SF. Donald Dutro and his employees and services WOULD MAKE A FORTUNE IN SF. I love Edward Wadsworth Salon. I was recommended to EW after a friend had her hair cut there. I've been in Portland for just over a year and hadn't found any great hair salon and was getting frustrated. The salon itself is really cute with white walls and big black framed mirrors and a modern feel. It was very clean and bright! I had an appointment with Sydney and she was fabulous!

So sweet and really listened to what I wanted. We talked about the possibility of bangs which I was a little terrified of. I haven't had bangs since I was a young girl and I've always wanted them, but was too afraid of how it would turn out. Sydney was really confident that it would look great so I said OK! It turned out fabulous and I feel so confident with my new look. She was absolutely amazing and the quality of the cut is top notch. I can't wait to go back!

Notice they have no recent reviews that are positive. There is a reason for this! If you are over 80 yr old, go there - because they cut all short (shorter) hair the same no matter your age. Went there for a couple of years and was quite pleased. But the last 18 months or so they cannot do anything right. Not color, nor haircuts. Even took in pictures from when they did it correctly - and they still could not do it. And I gave them several chances. Save your money - save your time - and save your hair! Go elsewhere!

The staff at EW are incredible on all levels. They're friendly, knowledgeable, enthusiastic and creative. I've been going to this salon for 15 years, and I'm only 33 years old. They follow the changing seasons and trends and always know what's hot and how to make that work with what you have. Even though I'm considered a "regular" I am ALWAYS treated like a new client.

Each and every appointment, Marnie sits down with me and consults about what I'm looking for. She has also directly contributed to colors that I wouldn't have thought of on my own and I've never been un-happy with the results. I trust that she has asked the right questions, knows the products she working with, and knows her canvas (me) well enough to send me out the door looking my best! Sydney is another star performer in the salon.

She has taken me from short and shaggy to long and layered. A while back I sporadically opted for bangs, and she grabbed her scissors and went for it with a smile. She is my hair muse :) Btw, I have never received as many compliments on my haircut as I did after getting bangs. They're longer and textured with a lot of movement and play, love them!

I think I may look forward to visiting with Marnie and Sydney more than I look forward to actually getting my hair done, and that's saying something for a working mother of a 3 year old and a 3 month old! I consider them to be my friends.very talented and professional friends :) I am proud to be a client at EW! I have, and will continue to refer patrons to this lovely local business!
