Hair straightening is a permanent hair straightening service which makes curly, frizzy hair to control hair to shiny and beautifully straight hair. KSYLA is the best affordable hair salon for hair straightening in Los Angeles LA. Keratin Treatment is a revolutionary hair treatment that reconstructs the hair by depositing Keratin deep into the hair to repair damage and at the same time straightens hair and eliminates frizz.
Did you know that KSY first started the idea of the straight perm in Korea? Our founder Kim Sun Young invented the first straight perm by using mixed natural ingredients with kelp in Seoul Korea. She used flat plastic panels to hold the hair while special ingredients were applied to achieve the ideal straightened hairstyle called 'Panel Straight'.

Absolutely horrible. Didn't listen to the color I wanted multiple times. Hair washer soaked my whole back. Turned out a horrible bright orange when I requested a caramel brown. Would never recommend again. Truly, save yourself a visit. People are unprofessional, rude and you most likely will not leave happy. So sad since I was very excited about this place!

Their customer service seems to vary depending on the designer but I'm calling out the head designer Kay specifically. She was just flat out rude. I hope she reads this and would respond to tell me what I have done to deserve such poor service. I received such poor customer service that I regret tipping her since I dont think she deserved any. Was charged $60 for an unsatisfactory hair cut. I wonder how she's head designer. should have gone somewhere else.

ASIAN MEN, Do NOT come here even if it's super available. Im not very picky but jeez, this is the WORST haircut i've ever gotten for $40 ($30 plus the $10 tip she assumed was hers). Even my mother joked about my barber preparing me for the military draft. details: Barber COMPLETELY shaved off my bangs (after I told her medium length), and ignored my styling requests. she was also VERY fast, bordering on negligent/Indifferent. There is no way that my barber thought this was good.

Came in for an on-the-spot appointment and they were so accommodating! I told them that I was in a bit of a rush and everything was finished in about 30-40 minutes. The haircut includes washing and blowdrying :) they recommended a cut suited to my face shape, and they took my previous c-curl perm into account while cutting as well! They also showed me how to properly style and blowdry my hair afterwards :) Overall, I had a really great experience! Definitely recommend!

Critical: Quality, Value Overcharged me for then Worst Service I have ever received. They did smoothening on my hair really fast and left the product on my hair for overtime that resulted in damaging my hair. They force you to Tip as well. There are way better options available. Avoid this place. They just want to make money out of you. Service: Straightening

I've been here a few times. The first time I got a magic perm the perm was properly done and it lasted a good amount of time. The second time I got a magic perm done by the owner she lied and just gave me a plain straight perm. The first time I washed my hair I knew it right away. I've been getting magic straight perms for decadeS from all different places and this was definitely NOT a magic perm.
Not only that she charged me for a magic perm and told me that magic perms are now different and that they don't come out super flat like they used to. Hello? Then what is the purpose of getting a magic straight perm? Then she conned me into getting keratin treatment saying she charges over $200 in the city but I can just pay $40 for it. It was not a real keratin treatment and my hair felt disgusting, rough and cakey for many days since the treatment.

I went to this hair salon last Monday to get my hair dyed. I was still undecided on what color to dye my hair, but the hairstylist was kind enough to assist me and make recommendations about what hair color would look best on me. I am overjoyed with the results of my hair! I would unquestionably recommend this hair salon!

This is my haircut spot, I've been having haircuts gets done with KIm Sun since 2015, not even one time was not happy with the haircut style. The stylish changed 3 times with they left this place, but even change to new hair stylish make me 0 worried because so far it's great. Last month I went there after COVID hit the city, even the city is fully opened, but still hesitated.
I booked appointment on Friday morning, went there was no other customer- my luck! They set up hand sensitizer, sign the form, only 2 hair stylish and 1 wash hair in the room. Everyone wear masks, make my feel comfortable. What loves the most- the visual window showing nature view on wall between the seats. - after few months quarantine and stress, this is really bring the calm and enjoyable feeling. It's not just get hair cut done, it's the enjoyable experience they provide.

The worst! I don't know if it's the hair salon, or the location, but the hair salons in New York and Los Angeles are one of the worst salons I've ever been to. Idk who taught these hairdressers how to cut hair, but I've come out of the door looking worse than I did coming in. The people are nice, but that doesn't excuse you from not knowing how to cut hair. I've had someone clip off my baby hairs for no reason, only to have them grow out in the most unpleasant way possible.
The stylist that they paired me with must have gotten her license a week before she cut my hair because the lady had no clue what she was doing. She went in with a clipper and shaved off some of my hair. She then messed up so she got blending shears to fix her mistakes. She then tried to add volume to my hair by using blending shears over my bangs.
I know this because my grandpa and ma also cut hair and if you're spending most of your time using blending shears to cut my hair, that's a red flag--it means you messed up and are trying to solve your mistake by having the shears give the illusion that everything's blended. Well, guess what? My hair is extremely thin now and I don't have much to work with when it comes to styling sections of my hair.
If you don't know what the hell you're doing, get another stylist! I don't want your discount. Learn how to cut hair because clearly you have no idea what you're doing. Next time, I'm going to speak up and ask them to put the blending shears down. Out of all of the scissors and shears you're have, if you're going to cut my hair using a clipper and a pair of scissors that doesn't even precisely cut, then stop! Terrible salon. Korean salons generally have a high caliber of service and execution. This salon does not. It is the McDonalds of Korean hair salons.

I went to Atelier after a different salon made my hair look like an act of terror. Sky was my stylist and she's amazing. Not only did she fix my presentably hair, she turned it into something I absolutely love. Damson, one of the assistants, was also amazing. She attended to all my needs and did a fantastic job coloring my hair evenly. I will definitely be going back for all my hair needs.

Very much appreciated feeling like a VIP for my walk-in haircut today. Everyone is genuinely nice there, and I got a A+ haircut from Jun, their Art Director. The wash/cut/blow is very reasonably priced (I called all the salons in my neighborhood for price & availability before walking in today). I really liked the vibe of the place. I'll be back. Thank you for loaning me an umbrella!

I am definitely never coming back to this place. Perphas they are starving for clients, they raised their price in the middle of my session with no explanation. I typically get a root touch up which comes with blow dry and style, prior to this visitation, I have been there twice and both times I paid total of $115 for the service. This time however, not only does the stylist not know the pricing, she came and asked how much I have paid previously for the services, didnt like the answer, then proceeded to hackle me as if I am at a flea market and insisted on increasing the price with no justification.
The most ironic part was after all that while I was paying they wrote down a price on a business card and told me next time if I come back in, if a stylist tries to adjust the price I should let the stylist know my quoted price. This is extremely unethical, I have never been to salon whereby stylist can adjust the price just because. Typically if there is an increase in pricing, the stylist at other PROFESSIONAL salons have always explained the reasoning and asked I would like to proceed. Shouldnt there a set price for the services for your clients.
On top of that the stylist made me feel extremely uncomfortable as she made little comments here and there about how much time it's taking to style my hair. Also when she was coloring my roots, she was so sloppy that it literally took forever to wash out the coloring because she got it all over my forehead.my eara and back of my neck. Never ever coming back to hous place.

Kim Sun Young is a Korean style Hair and Beauty salon. They have many services but I come here every month or two for a simple Men's haircut. I always make an appointment with Christine so I'm not sure how walk-ins work but I'm sure they have options for that. It's a little more expensive but it's definitely worth it for the consistent quality of service that you get.
The process here is pretty simple but you should ask someone to show you how it works the first time. You arrive, greet the person at the front and who you have the appointment with. You then go to the back and put on the coat to protect your clothes. You can then have your hair shampooed and meet with your barber, they will cut your hair to how you want.
I like coming here because the environment is pretty nice and lively. The barber Christine is very consistent and I can always expect to have a great hair cut each time which is the important thing for me. You can also buy hair products here, some of the same that the barbers use and the price is excellent. Overall, my experience with this place has been great and I highly recommend it.

Very disappointed I've been coming for over two years to get a hair cut I come every 2 to 2 month and a half. Every time I get my hair cut with someone different and that is my fault for not scheduling an appointment. I went for a hair cut and style. Pay for what they asked for and as specific as I was with wanting my hair flat and straight I walked away with my hair looking puffy. Explained to the hair dresser that I didn't like my hair looking as if I was wearing a helmet and wa stood to go outside and it will no longer be puffy. Explained at the front desk and I was told that I'm lucky that he used flat iron. I couldn't understand. After more than two years not walking in there again

The Kim Sun Young Hair & Beauty Salon is a magical find! I've never had a person that I repetitively and solely see to do my hair so I've never been attached to a salon either. On a whim, I walked in the other day and not only did they manage to make time for me that day, but I found the hair dresser that I want to do my hair next time and the time after that. Kim is excellent at what she does!
She is super friendly and cute. She was incredibly helpful in suggesting what I should do with my hair to compliment me best. She did great work. I've never had a better hair cut. I really enjoyed my experience and I will specifically be asking for Kim next time!

I made a gamble to this hair salon and went despite the bad reviews (hair cut, expensive price for services, etc). Sadly, I have had experience only the drastic change in my wallet after leaving Kim Sun Young. For a single process color, a customer typically pays between 80-130. i paid 188.00 without tips, and still manage to give both the manager and asst. 18% for the tip, for no known reason.
My hair's still black and only a quarter of my hair were colored. i have my hair colored at a hair salon in Bayside, NY and have paid 65.00 + 18% tip. will not recommend this place to anyone.

Found this salon in the middle of Korean town and needed a hair cut. You would have to go upstairs to get into the place. Atmosphere was nice. I really liked how my hair came out. Layered and with mid side bangs. The guy took his time to my hair, and put a lot of effort even though it was late. I wished I knew the guy name who did my hair. Kwon was maybe his name. Make sure you have a picture or know what you want because they don't speak good English. The price I think it's a bit pricey for a trim and shampoo.$67.

Out of town traveler wondering the busy streets of NYC. I discovered this place near the hotel I was staying at and I'm glad I did. The experience was overall good. But the haircut was exceptional. Kwon took his time to cut my hair exactly how I wanted it but better. I would strongly recommend Kwon to anyone looking for a nice cut at an affordable rate. ~65 + tip. Thanks, Kwon!

This place used to be amazing before it became a chain store. This salon (and the one in queens) was my go-to for a haircut. I noticed how they slowly started raising their prices and asked them about it a while back and they told me it was cause of the rent. I understand that the amount they charge for just a haircut is due to the crazy rent in NYC, but please don't give a 10-15 mins haircut and charge $50+. People, there are so many small salons around the K-town vicinity. Please save your time and just go there.
