Elle Marie Hair Studio

I have continued to go back to Elle Marie over the years, Alderwood, Mill Creek, and Snohomish and have been very happy with the results every time. I've had several stylists, and they have all listened to my wishes and allowed me to show them pictures of what I've envisioned. I have ventured and tried stylists/salons that are a bit closer to my home and lower in price, but the truth is you get what you pay for.

I asked for a subtle red, more on the burgundy side, and instead got fire truck read. I went to Elle Marie for them to fix it after a disaster of a color job at another salon, and it came out exactly how I wanted my hair color to turn out. I will continue returning to Elle Marie. I've always felt heard and left loving my new hair style or color!

I am getting married in a month, however my previous hair stylist retired. I searched the most experienced person who specialized in thin hair and Kari came up. I asked for a 0.5 - 1 inch trim, and she cut off about 2 - 3 inches from most of the back of my head. I had to ask her to create a smoother line so it didn't look like I had two haircuts, a short one in the back and a long one in front.

She said she had to layer my hair so it had more volume, because I had thin hair, however now I have what appears to be a bald spot in the back of my head by my neck. She used a trimmer to clean up my neck, and I now have a rash. I have been to salon schools to get my haircut in the past, and my partner who barely knows his way around scissors did my hair at the beginning of covid. This is the worst haircut I have ever had.

I went to the manager Jean Marie about three weeks ago now. I was quoted over the phone a completely different price than what my total came out to be. For the exact same services it ended up being almost $100 more than what I was quoted by the staff when making my appointment. They threw in a complimentary deep condition for my inconvenience there.

I didn't care about that-just wanted the quote I was given originally for the same service. I was not going to write a review because initially I liked my hair, but after a week it started becoming yellow, and at 2 weeks in I tried the purple shampoo on it, to no avail.now I'm at week 3, and they will charge me $100 to fix it. I am definitely never going back as it is completely unprofessional and discouraging for my experience here.

[5/12/22] Follow up to the below review (changed from 1star) Katy, the manager, reached out, she was very kind, genuine, and understanding. She offered to rectify the situation. And now I am looking forward to my next haircut appointment here. [5/6/22] Original review: Extremely rude management and front desk staff, I was exactly 2 minutes late for an appointment looking for a parking spot when they called to cancel my appointment, as I was talking they decided to hangup the phone on me, I called back because I thought the call dropped so the same person answered and said with an angry tone "the call didn't drop, why are you calling back! I told you your appointment is cancelled and I have nothing else to say to you" Then she slammed the phone!

Every time I've visited this salon, I always have such a wonderful experience. The stylists are all personable and friendly. Even on busy days, they always seem to keep their cool! Not only that, but they excel at styling all different types of hair. My own is quite unique and I've had numerous bad haircuts from other salons because of it, but never a bad one from this one!

I've had a few different stylists (because my schedule is quite hectic, so trying to stick with just one stylist has been a challenge- it's no fault to any of the staff) and all of them are great. I highly recommend this salon!

Amanda is my hairstylist at ElleMarie and she is amazing! I've been with her for a little over a year and when I first went in I hadn't let anyone cut, color, or really even touch my hair in 7 years! I had very long very curly dark hair and super big trust issues with people cutting it but she made the impossible possible! She really took the time to listen to exactly what I wanted and was comfortable with and now I have healthy, beautiful red locks that I'm impressed with every time I leave the salon and she even went out of her way to style my hair for my wedding when she wasn't scheduled! I don't have any experience with the other stylists but I would recommend her any day!

Professional, treats you like family, and never disappoints! They've always given me exactly what I wanted since day one of my visit about 3 years ago. My preferred stylist is Jasmine who remembers details of our conversations and asks about them during your next visit with her. This previous time I didn't have her, because of a treatment i needed that she no longer could do because of health issues, but she still came over to say hello and catch up after 3 months of not seeing each other

Madison was wonderful through the whole 4 1/2 hr process. The color is fading quickly after about only a week of dying my hair. But Madison made sure to walk me through and explain the process and the after care and I already have another appointment with her for some correction and perfection of what I envisioned. *update* stylist has canceled every single appt I've made with her (about 4 now) and I've gone to other stylists and they've told me my hair is dead and extremely damaged.

Can't do anything but lighten w/out bleach or let it grow out at least 4-5 inches and try than. So disappointed! Will not go here again. Can't trust them with my hair *shaking head*

The experience at the studio was so great! I loved my balayage and hair cut. Jasmine was so patient throughout the process. I have gotten my hair colored before and whatever I requested, it would always turn out to be brassy whereas I wanted a deep brown/red undertone. I guess others aren't as experienced with Indian hair type or skin color. But I am so happy I chose Elle Marie. Can't wait to go back for my gloss in future.

I've been going to Elle Marie for several months now for haircuts. The original stylist I was seeing left the salon, and they seamlessly accommodated me. This is part of why I like going to a bigger salon - I have limited days and times I can go in, and when I have gone to independent stylists in the past, I had scheduling issues. So while I do like staying with the same stylist, if I need to see someone else for scheduling issues, they can accommodate me.

I've seen three stylists there so far, and gotten consistently good haircuts from all of them. Their pricing is kind of mid-range, not the cheapest or most expensive out there, and you get a good value for what you pay. Bang trims are included as well. I hope to be able to continue to get my hair cut here for a long time! The location is convenient to Alderwood Mall as well.
