I recently was able to publish my work in the 2005 Passion International hard cover styling book and was proud to showcase my daughter and other local models. All the years doing hair shows and local fashion shows gave me the confidence to train to be an educator/platform artist for Redken while attending our local college taking various classes of psychology, sociology, music, even a pottery class. People interest me and why we do what we do sometimes can help us transition from one trauma or event to the next.
I can't complain about the haircut I got here. This is a DevaCurl stylist. If you have curly hair and aren't using Deva-approved stylists, you need to get over to their website and find one. Most stylists think they can cut curly hair. They can't. It is totally different from straight hair and it's not just a matter of putting in some layers.

Jessica is my kind of lady, shes direct and to the point. She knows my curly hair better than I know my own curly hair. She didnt waste my time but instead used that time to really consult and educate me on curly hair that honestly not many straight hair experts even know. She was kind, polite, and well rounded. We had so many conversations and I found my new hairstylist after looking for so long! Thank you Jessica!

Face masks are not required at this place! The business owner says she's not sick. I asked: do you know if I'm sick or not?! We were even asked SEVERAL TIMES to remove masks from kids faces and my face too. Jessica didn't even bother to put a face mask on, and she was truly annoyed that we asked her to put the mask on and in return, she wanted us to remove masks so she can "hear what I say". Furthermore, she got us a piece of paper and on it says face masks are not required at our place!
That's for the face masks, now on for the next point. At the professional level, we've never been to a place where we hear a person at a workplace that tells us "not to argue". We need to understand what is it that she's going to do and we thought it's a bit different than we ever had with other salons. It's also rude to hear from a business owner "You're asking too many questions" and "I know what I'm doing.
You don't need to tell me what I should do". The ONLY reason I was forced to stay and finish with this thing is that the kids were so excited to get their hair done and I didn't want to break their heart. From a personal & business perspective, I'll never even get close to this place ever again.

I love my curls again! First time seeing Jessica. She was very pleasant, knowledgeable and fun. I would recommend her to a friend! I always read reviews and noticed a couple of negative reviews but I didn't let that discourage me. If I did ever have a problem, I would go back to tell them. We all pay good money getting our hair done. It usually a good idea to give them a chance to correct it. :

My experience with Jessica was soooo AWESOME! I totally put myself into hands of professional, who did not ask series of detailed questions ("how to cut/ style?"), but from the beginning to the end, SHE KNEW what needs to be done. She knows the LANGUAGE of curly hair and its needs. She also thought me how with simple tricks, to bring out the natural beauty of my hair, how to arrange my hair so it shapes my face better. Even more, I have learned THE ESSENTIALS OF CURLY HAIR ROUTINE, that would never hear from any other (straight) hair stylist. thank you Jessica!
