A few weeks ago I went in for a curly haircut, everyone in this establishment was super friendly and super sweet. But unfortunately, the haircut was not what I thought I was going to receive. The haircut was very uneven and very choppy. I've received a curly cut in the past so I know the length isn't the problem there's just no style or shape to this haircut.

I've been trying my best to make it work but the haircut is just too uneven to put up or leave out. I am very displeased with the curly cut I received. If you have curly hair this place is not the place to go.

Metta knows how to work with curly hair. She did an amazing job; cutting and coloring. The style is very easy to work with. She used natural products- always a plus. Great experience. I will be back

I just got my first curly cut from this place, and I am so impressed! First haircut since the start of the pandemic, and my 3a-ish hair needed some shape help. Rebecca listened to what I said about my hair's quirks, recommended a style of cut, and it was just what I needed. Sarah (or was it Sam? Sorry!) then washed, styled, and diffused my hair with incredible attention to detail. I also appreciated that everyone wore masks. I found my new place!

I returned to Nicole M today - she has so much talent! She has taught me a ton about how to style my natural waves. Something I really appreciate about her is the way she is highly consultative especially when it comes to color. If you tell her what you're looking to do, she'll consult on the best way to get there and she's not afraid to speak up if she thinks there's a better option.

It's HUGE to find a stylist who takes the time to truly listen and is not afraid to be honest about what she thinks is best for your hair. It's a rare find! She's an artist and a professional. I'll stick with her and I recommend her!

This is the worst haircut I have ever had! To start off my visit they were running late, which is understandable since they were short staffed, but what was more horrible than anything was that my stylist did not respect my wishes and completely chopped my hair. I specifically told her I wanted to keep as much length as possible and she cut off a substantial amount and did not change the shape of my hair at all.

She was completely distracted my whole visit ( tended to other clients, on the phone and overall distracted by an issue with her assistant)! I payed a substantial amount of money for a horrible cut and I would definitely not recommend this salon if you want your requests to be honored or made to feel like you are the priority while in the chair.

I saw Rebekah on Sunday and she gave me the best curly cut I've had in years! Highly recommend! She took her time and explained everything she was doing. She was very nice and friendly and so was the receptionist. I am very pleased and will definitely return! They took every precaution to make me feel safe during this coronavirus! It was clean, well lit and comfortable. They had every hair product line a curly would love! Five stars for this salon *****

This is second time going to PE both times had great experiences. The first time my stylist was Rebekah. Being new to the curly girl life Rebekah took the time to explain how to work with my hair and products to use. For this most recent visit I had Metta as my stylist. She listened to what I wanted from my hair cut and how I styled it. The cut she gave me was exactly what I wanted. She even was able to get a little more volume from my fine curly hair. Both times the staff was very welcoming and never felt pressured to buy certain products.

This is a place that specializes in curly hair, though they cut all types of hair, as well as men's hair. I've seen great men's cuts there! Being trained for curly hair means they are more highly trained and have better understanding of all hair types than other hair dressers. I see Nicole, exclusively, who has had to color &cut correct my hair twice now when I've been foolish and impatient (I didn't make my appointments in a runneth fashion) enough to go elsewhere.

She's an excellent colorist, and I don't throw that praise around lightly, if ever. Personal Expressions uses gentle, organic, vegan hair color which, amazingly, works beautifully! While there, I have seen other fabulous curly and straight cuts and color from the other stylists too. I have also observed only friendliness and consideration on behalf of every stylist.

If someone is unhappy, which is rare, PE will go out of their way to fix any issue without any unprofessional hullabaloo. While it's on the higher end financially, it's on par with salons which are supposed to be the best. I think it's worth saving up, skipping a month or so elsewhere, if necessary, to go to Personal Expressions. Whilst I have had the pleasure of going there only a few times, my daughter, another very curly haired woman, has been going there for years, and her hair has never looked better!

We like this salon so much that when we move to New Hampshire, we're going to come back here to have our hair done. You can trust you'll get what you want, and likely better than that, at Personal Expressions.

Updo and makeup for Senior Prom. Gorgeous, so many compliments, all night long. Had hair done there in the past and always loved it and the products! First time for make up and I don't think she will want to go anywhere else!
