I have been to the PR Partner location in Oakton a few times and have had worse experiences each time. The place does not seem to be managed well--one time when I went in the stylist had only booked me for a tone (20 mins max) when I had asked for a cut and balayage (2+ hours). Today, the front desk worker hadn't showed up so I waited in the chair for over 30 mins while my stylist ran back and forth doing some of my hair, then answering the phone, etc.
I feel bad because I know it is not the stylists' fault for the mismanagement, but it makes the whole experience really stressful. Also, the person who cut my hair today (I forget who) smelled like straight cigarettes which is not exactly the pleasant salon smell you look for. I think a lot of the good stylists are moving to other locations--the Oakton one for me is just always SUPER unpleasant and they never do a great job. Won't be going back

I have never experienced as bad an experience as today's with Ray Koach! I went for a consultation for hair coloring. He was rude, sarcastic and walked away with the attitude of a teenager. The person at the front desk witnessed the entire conversation. He apologized for Ray's poor behavior and explained that I was not the first customer this hairdresser had aggressed. This is not professional behavior and he should learn to check his personal issues at the door before engaging with clients.

LOVE this place! Went to get my gray covered and my daughters DIY bleach job toned. My very picky daughter wasn't happy the first time, so our stylist, Erik, re-colored not once, not twice, but THREE times to make her happy. This was super important to me as my wedding was 3 days later and I wanted everyone to feel beautiful. Erik made sure we were happy while laughing and smiling the entire time, he never made us feel like we were being too picky (even though we probably were). Bottom line is no more DIY color for us, Erik will be the only person touching our hair from now on.

Very disappointing! I had an appointment, but had to wait over 30 minutes for my haircut and got half hearted apology from the stylist. He was obviously overbooked. After that he still left me waiting multiple times while he attended to other customers. He had the salon assistant dry my hair. She did the best she could, but she pulled half my hair out trying to style it.
He finally came back and at the end (1.5 hours later) I walked out with half dry frizzy hair. Not going back even though they are within walking distance of my house. First time, last time!

I hardly write reviews but felt compelled to as Kim was very professional and patient dealing with me even though I was running late. She was knowledgable when answering specific questions and explained everything in-depth to establish clear expectations to help me feel comfortable. I definitely trust her process and I can tell she is very good at what she does as I can sense her work is top notch! I have a hard time when determining who to go to but I am excited to have her as my hair stylist moving forward!

I scheduled an appointment as a new client already 2 months ago. Finally, the day came and when I arrived at the store, I was advised that the hairstylist I scheduled my appointment with would no longer take new clients. The font desk is totally incompetent! During my waiting time in the salon I overheard a phone call from an unhappy client and people needed to wait in line forever only to pay for a shampoo. Cannot recommend this salon at all!

I left in tears. My hair looks so bad. I sent an email the following morning (partially hoping it looked less dreadful in natural light) and no one reached out or followed up. I have two gray patches from where the bleach turned my hair gray and it looks like Im aging if I pull my hair up. In other spots, the color is brassy. I don't want to publicly shame the stylist because I think she partially to blame as she was rushed to do balayage in only 2 hours. Oh, and I left crying AND with wet hair. I left a generous tip because I thought I would be back to get it fixed. I expected better service and would not recommend.

I first went here with a hair emergency! I had gotten a bad hair cut AND I had severe chemical damage. I landed in the capable, sympathetic hands of Stacey. I left with Chloe Brown Insta worthy hair. Next visit, I decided I wanted a medium modern shag. 100% different cut. I kid you not. Stacey nailed it. I know I can walk in with a picture and out with that hairdo.
They will sit down and actually consult with you. It's not just my stylist that is on point, they all love what they do here and I love how they do it (Seriously I saw a stylist crouching down to peer a girl's super long hair to make sure it was even from every angle.)

I had been here once before and I really liked my haircut. But, my past experience has been horrible. I asked the stylist to cut my hair shoulder-length, but she ended up cutting it as a bob, cutting it nearly 3 inches shorter then what I asked for. Moreover, I asked her specifically to make sure all my hair can fit inside a ponytail. Not only can I not do that because a quarter of hair is so short that I can't put it up, I now have to spend the next couple of months pinning up the hair that doesn't fit (which takes a very long time because the hair is also uneven so it is difficult to pin everything up).
This is hugely inconvenient because I wear my hair up nearly every single day. I'm not sure what happened because this did not even closely resemble what I asked for. But, for a place that is so expensive, I would recommend taking your money to somewhere that actually follows what the customer asks for.

I booked a last minute appointment in June for a blowout. I called in the morning of and asked if they had any openings for this service. At that time, I thought I was lucky and was able to book an appointment later that afternoon. I came in with my hair freshly washed and still wet as I was staying only five minutes away. This was to help me out with my time because I had a makeup appointment right after.
During the blowout, the stylist asked if I wanted some waves/curls in, sure why not? But they didn't stay in. When she was done with the "blowout" there were no waves or curls. My hair was straight. She then curled my hair to assist me with the look I was going for. I thought this is great service up until my hair was considered "done." My hair had ZERO volume.
Within 30 minutes of my appointment, my hair fell completely flat. By the time I reached home I had to change and leave for a wedding. I wanted to literally wash my hair and do it myself. Although I appreciate that I was able to get an appointment, I wish I never called. It was a complete waste of money. My hair was awful and it made me feel very self conscious the entire night.
I hate flat hair and use products to assist me in getting the volume I want. I thought I would save time by having someone do my hair for me but I was completely wrong. This isn't a case of maybe curls don't stay in because of the texture of my hair. I curl my hair just fine. I wish I had this night. The issue I have with PR at Partners is that I don't feel as if they truly help new stylists learn what works bests for different types of hair.
They don't assist them at all. At least they didn't during my appointment. I realized after my appointment I had a new stylist and that's why she maybe didn't know how to actually style my hair. This is where PR should come in and help their newcomers learn the art of hairstyling. Otherwise it comes off as just a business tactic to fill appointments for new stylist and get more money in.

Found my new salon! I was extremely overdue for a hair cut and balayage and Claire was very accommodating and and had so much patience with my extremely long and unmanageable hair. She matched exactly what color and look I was going for and offered to do a hair treatment for me which completely saved my dry ends, a week later and I still see results with the texture. Claire was extremely sweet and great at listening to what I wanted, my hair took hours to do so the complimentary fresh fruit, cookies, and drinks kept me going! I feel much better about my hair, great stylists and great salon.

I have been going to PR at Partners for years and I love it. It was so hard to find someone who could get my hair to the level of blond I wanted and Jon has done a fantastic job. I seriously don't trust anyone else with coloring my hair. It is always easy to get an appointment and the other staff are always very friendly.

I got my hair done by Michael and he is absolutely great doing blondes and other colors. I told him what I wanted and he did exactly how I wanted it to look like. It took me a long time trying to find someone who would do a good job with blonde colors and I finally found someone! Totally recommend michael for hair!

I love this place! Everyone there is so talented! What I love about this chain is 1) how reasonably they are priced 160 for hair cut AND partial balayage! 2) the individuals who work they take classes to learn new techniques and keep up to date with the best methods! - constantly learning 3) they are just so nice and want your hair to turn out the way you want I see Mursal and she's amazing! Fun to talk to and knowledgeable.

I'm so glad I changed barbers! I never felt my hair was quite right until Richard Riffe at PR started styling my hair. I went from constantly changing products and shampoos to try and tame my hair, to just towel drying and walking out the door. I had no idea the cut was what made all the difference. It's been years now and my only regret is that I hadn't changed sooner! @RichardDoesHair @PRatPartnersMcLean #RichardDoesHair #PRatPartnersMclean

I was shocked to see that my 17 year old daughter who went in for a simple haircut and was charged $80.00. I called and was told that the stylist determines the amount to be charged and the website stated that the amount was between $40-$85 for a haircut. I am extremely disappointed and find this highly unethical. Taking advantage of a 17 year old, terrible.
Will not be returning and the person I spoke with didn't offer any kind of resolution. Basically stole from my daughter by overcharging for a simple hair cut, 3 inches from the bottom, no layers. Stephanie, the stylist, should be ashamed of herself.

I'm never going anywhere else. Richard Riffe has been doing cut / color on my hair for over a year now and as someone who is extremely picky, I can honestly say he's the best stylist I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. My best friend recommended him to me and I was apprehensive after a series of bad cuts at a different salon, but I walked out SO IMPRESSED.
I've since recommended him to a few friends who now say the same thing. I'm writing this review because I went to see Richard last night as my husband decided to chop his man bun off and I insisted that if he's going for it, Richard is the guy to do it. Needless to say his cut was incredible and exactly what he had in mind. We walked out happy, as always, thanks to Richard. He takes his time to listen and really understand what you want and nails it every time. I can't say enough about his approach and his talent. Well done!

DO NOT BOOK APPOINTMENT AT THIS SALON!Simply the worse experience I ever had with booking an appointment for my hair! I booked my appointment about one week to 10 days ago with John at PR at Partners in Oakton. I clearly mentioned as the receptionist questioned me what was my appointment will be for, that I needed a color ( balyage) and roots touch up! Arrived 30 minutes earlier than my appointment time and said my name and my appt, Rebecca in the front desk said the front desk who booked me only allowed 30 min w my stylist!
I had no idea why they would only allow 30 min, since i clearly mentioned what i needed to be done and took the entire day off from my work to be there for my appointment! My stylist saw me and said, I would not have time to do your hair! I was very pissed, since I booked this appt 10 days ago! I talked to front desk, she said with a smile and very ignorant ( looking for something to eat) that I was going to have to be seen by some one else or else i should reschedule!
I waited for 2 hours even for the other stylist to do my hair, he just refused to do it because he said there was not enough time! I walked out after speaking with director of the salon, who said i must choose some other salon to go to! I have NEVER EVER seen or felt the way i did at a hair salon! It was completely unacceptable and I suggest you not go to this salon for them breaking the record of being such ignorant, pathetic salon at their costumer service!

My experience with this salon was extremely disappointing. My hairdresser had appointments too closely booked, so despite spending $255 here today I am leaving with wet, curly hair. I have no idea what my haircut will look like, no idea what my highlights look like. There was really no effort to be accommodating, and for someone who doesn't throw around that kind of money this really was a true disappointment :

I got an itch to cut my hair because I should be having my baby any day now and I came in to PR. They were awesome and took me right in considering they looked very busy and I was a walk in. My hair designer was Demian and I am so happy he was able to squeeze me in because I love my cut! I came in with an overgrown angled bob that had left over ombre in it and I walked out with a beautiful weightless cut that will be easy to manage once my baby is born. Demian was also very sweet and gave me awesome advice on becoming a parent! Thank you so much for being so awesome! I walked out feeling very confident and happy!

PR at Partners are really good, and they really appreciate their reputation. But. some of their stuff is awful. I went to Demian (he told me he had 20 years experience), and I explained him that I wanted to grow my hair out, and I just wanted to add some layers. Instead of doing that he just cut my hair to shoulders line. Fortunately, it looks good, and I'm glad with my haircut.
He also colored my hair. I wanted balayage (blonde with some ash). He made my hair completely orange! And then tried to change it (the next day) using ash toner. Is that a professional way? I would say "No!". After trying twice, I didn't get what I wanted, and they charged me $225 for haircut + balayage. I e-mailed the support center, and after explaining the situation, they refunded me $170 for coloring (they also explained me what the stylist should have done with my hair instead of what he did). That's why this is 4 stars review, otherwise I wouldn't give them even 1. I wish they checked the stylists better before employing them.

I have been coming here for about a year now ever since my barber has not been able to handle my hair since it got longer. Hero gives the freshest cuts. Everyone from the front of house staff to the hair washers to the owner are all very polite and attentive. I got recommended to go here by a couple friends who use Hero and I will continue to go to hi as long as I live in the area. Great with fades and basically any type of cut!

Once I moved to Vienna, I needed to find a new stylist. I had never even heard of PR at Partners until I started researching on the internet, but once I realized they had a location just down the road from me in Oakton and had good reviews (thanks Yelp!) I was determined to try it out. Finding a new stylist can be tough, and I like that they have stylist profiles on their website so you can see who might be right for you.
I picked a few that I was interested in from the descriptions and called the salon to talk it through. After mentioning who I'd seen, the person on the phone asked me a bit about my hair and what I was looking for and paired me with Erica based on my responses. I've been going to her ever since, and she's terrific! She takes the time before I'm even shampooed to see how my hair is grown and talk about what I am looking for.
After she's done cutting and blow-drying, she always takes the time to sit back down and review the cut and make any updates. I have to give them credit, because about a year ago, I had an appointment and completely forgot about it - I went to NY during that weekend and was literally on the Brooklyn Bridge when my haircut reminder popped up on my phone.
I had to call them 5 minutes before the appointment to cancel and they didn't charge me or anything, so I really appreciated that. So why not 5 stars? Because I've been going there for 3 years and they just raised the prices again (2nd time). Grrrrrr.
