I have been looking for a new stylist so I recently went to Salon Voda for the first time and saw Sylvia Kim. She did an awesome job with the the partial foil! My hair turned out better than I could've imagined and she gave me some useful hair care and styling tips. Thanks Sylvia! Im so happy to have found a stylist I can trust.

I'm a 10 year loyal client of Salon VODA. They are simply the best stylists in Seattle. They are today what Gene Juarez was in their glory bygone days. Great sense of style, patient, responsive, listening to my needs, giving you the time you need to look your best. And prices are totally reasonable. And Jerri is the best. The best. Look no further!

I would not recommend anyone to go to this salon. High prices for low quality work and poor customer service. For starters, this was the first experience getting my hair colored, I brought in a picture showing the color and look I was going for. The stylist (Sylvia) assured me what I wanted was tangible and that the technique she would be using would look better than a balayage.
After bleaching my hair, the stylist dried and curled it and said that the lines of brown and yellow would fade out and the color of my hair would lighten over time and that I wouldn't need to tone my hair. I have never colored my hair before and wasn't sure exactly what to expect. After going home, my roommate pointed out all of the harsh lines and geometric shapes throughout my hair and informed me that my hair should have been blended better.
I then contacted the stylist and sent her photos of the areas in my hair that weren't blended, and that I wanted her to fix. She did not respond for three days. It took me calling the salon and leaving 2 messages and talking to another stylist over the phone for the original stylist to contact me back and schedule another appointment for her to fix my hair. Going into the second appointment to fix the blending and chunkiness in my hair; I explained that I did not want to see the large brown chunks and wanted to be able to style my hair and not be worried about having to cover up lines of where the blonde and brown starts and stops.
Half way through the stylist foiling my hair, another one of her clients walks in and was waiting for her to finish with me to begin her hair. After my hair was fully foiled that client and her step outside for a few minutes and then came back inside. The hair stylist then grabs the tray of bleach, brushes, and combs she had just used on my hair and WITHOUT washing or cleaning anything, directly starts applying the same bleach to the other clients hair.
After sitting with bleach and foil in my hair for about 40 minutes I noticed that the stylist was just over half way through with the other clients hair. After just having my hair bleached a week before I started to worry about the bleach damaging my hair. I felt uncomfortable with my hair being left unattended and un checked for so long. After 52 minutes pass, the stylist finally finishes coloring the other clients hair and starts to check my foils and washes the bleach out.
As soon as she washed my hair I could tell my hair was incredibly damaged. It was matted, straw like and could not be untangled. The stylist then attempted to brush and blow dry my hair without using any product. I finally had to tell her to stop and that I don't think we should continue to dry hair considering how damaged and dry it was. I paid $330 for this hair nightmare.
The hair stylist seemed she was in over her head from the beginning and either didn't care, or was too prideful to recommend someone else to do the job. My hair is incredibly damaged. I've had to go buy intensive hair care products to try and repair my hair, and after my hair has healed up a bit, I will have to go to a color correction specialist to try and fix the damage she has done to my hair.

Sylvia is the most talented hair stylist. That is because she is also an artist. She includes your body type and facial features, to help choose your hair style. I have been going to Sylvia for over 20 years I have continued to get compliments on my hair. Sylvia excels doing fine hair and hair color. Everyone who has gone to Sylvia has returned.

If you want a great haircut and to meet a lovely person, head to Harmony at Salon Voda. I am a mom with four small kids and hadn't gotten a haircut in at least 2 years (sad, I know). Needless to say, I was a bit bashful when taking my hair out of its ponytail to get the whole thing started, but she didn't miss a beat. She first gave me a "tour of my hair" so I could see what in the world was happening on top of my head anymore.
Then she listened intently to my hopes and dreams for my locks and knew exactly what to do. It looks great! She took her time, was very thorough, and I felt really taken care of. I wasn't rushed and she's delightful to talk to. She's going on 20 years of experience and I would trust her with my hair any day. Go see Harmony!

The best Salon all stylists have exceptional talent especially Sylvia who has been my hairstylist for over a decade. She has done my hair short all the way to long and back to short, all of my cuts have been amazing. I don't have blonde hair but she is also known for her blonde highlighting and coloring techniques. She keeps it real and helps to inform you the tricks on how to make your hair look its best at home so that you don't just look good coming out of the salon but also on a daily basis. Sylvia is the best!

I followed Toyo to Salon Voda from his previous salon as I think he is simply the best (Full disclosure: I haven't gotten my hair done by other stylists at Salon Voda). In general, my hair is very difficult to texturize and style well. I've had many experiences of unskilled stylists ruining my textured bob, and Toyo has done superb job each time I got it done by him.
He is also honest in assessment and in his recommendation, extremely detail-oriented, and skillful in both cuts and perm. Against everyone's advice, I permed my shoulder-length hair by Toyo, and now all my female colleagues ask me to take them to Toyo to get the same perm done. I advise new clients to bring a few photos to communicate clearly what they want, then ask Toyo for his opinions. He'll tell you how the style will look on you based on the texture of your hair, and how best to style it.

Best salon EVER! I have been going here since 2007, and I see the owner, Rachel and she does the most fantastic, reasonable priced hair foils, haircuts, ect that you could ever ever ask for! She is so friendly, never pushy on products EVER, is ALWAYS on time, and SUPER QUICK AND EFFICIENT! The entire salon is just gorgeous inside and everyone is friendly. It's located on Lake Union, right under where Joeys used to be & I will be going here to see Rachel FOREVER!
If you are looking for high quality hair care in a very posh & professional environment with great prices and service, I would HIGHLY recommend going to Salon Voda and asking for Rachel. I am always able to see her within the week, when I call to make appointments. I PROMISE YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED IF YOU GO AND SEE RACHEL AT SALON VODA! Thanks for all you have done Rachel! Your the best!

As you can see, I rarely leave reviews, but when I do - it is because of FANTASTIC service. Sylvia Kim is the best hairstylist/designer I have ever had, and that is really saying something. She is magic in her skills and as a master technician, of course. But where she is truly remarkable is her eye for how to utilize hair color, cut and style to enhance your natural beauty.
I wish I could post before and after photos here to show the dramatic difference. I went from tired to glowing and glamorous in a way I had not felt in years. My skin and eyes popped and the hairstyle and color fantastic. She's the best at what she does. Book with her and you'll be amazed at what she creates with you as the canvas. I haven't gotten this many compliments ever with a look. I feel fabulous and so will you.

Toyo! is the best! I am very picky with my hair and I tried so many hair salons so far. They were alright but none of the hair designers made me go back. But, now, I've found one! Toyo is talented and has an aesthetic eye. As soon as he saw my hair carefully, he knew which color and what kind of product I have used for my hair and what I need for better looks.
He uses high-end products but he never asked me to buy them. He was very detailed but not took too long. He was also a very fun person to talk to. The best of his skill is scalp massage. I did touch-up color and his scalp massage was beyond description; I was speechless. I sometimes had some itchy and hurtful scalp but it seemed to be gone after the massage.
That was included in the original price. I found that he just moved from Slime salon in Belle town (there are many good review about him). Of course i loved my hair-color and looks but I feel also healthy. I will absolutely go back to him. As soon as I came back home, I booked another hair cut for my partner with Toyo. Toyo's skill and talent should be shared!

I have been coming to Silvia for over 10 years! I come all the way up from LA and she is the ONLY one that I let touch my hair. She has the best technique, if you want, she will help you push your boundaries or if you want to play it safe, she will give you a comfortable and stylish cut. But the main reason I have stayed with her for so long is because she is good for the soul.
I come out of Salon Voda with a new hair cut and a new positive outlook on life. I know, it sounds cheesy, but Silvia has one of the most positive and realest outlooks on life. I can't tell if I enjoy our conversations more or my new hair! My mother, my sister and half of Magnolia goes to Silvia. Call Salon Voda and ask for her. She is amazing.

I was in Seattle for the boat show in January 2015, I need it to wash and blow dry my hair, and wondered there. Nice place, stylist are very nice and attentive. Sylvia did my hair and even though I love my hair straight, she suggested to do some waves and it turned out beautifully. Thank you Sylvia!

My hair has NEVER looked as good as it looks when Jerri is the only one who cuts it. she is seriously a hair genius. You know your stylist is the best when your hair looks good in the days and weeks following your cut. Jerri took all of the work out of my daily routine-- I will never be able to find someone of her caliber in North Carolina. Above and beyond her talent, Jerri is probably the most genuinely positive, uplifting, and optimistic woman I have ever met.
If you are fortunate enough to be a client of hers, you're lucky (and your hair will never look better)-- but it's an honor to esteem Jerri as a friend. She is a gift!

For an engaging hour of pampering and fabulous hair that lasts beyond the day you leave the salon, go see Robert at Salon Voda! I look forward to my appointments and enjoy the time spent in the salon almost as much as I enjoy how great my hair looks in between appointments. Robert's masterful hair cuts and genius color are second to none. I have a long history of hair dissatisfaction (thick and unruly!) and I am thrilled to have Robert in charge!

Salon Voda was recommended to me by Flawless Tan in Kirkland as a great place for bridal hair. The makeup artist was willing to meet me at Voda on my wedding day, so the convenience and the high acclaims sealed the deal. I met with Rachel three times. One consultation, one actual real-deal run through, and on my wedding day. She did my hair, my matron of honors hair, and my mother's hair, and she did a perfect job on each of us and I could not have been happier.
She is also fun to talk to, so it wasn't awkward for me to show up out of the blue just for wedding stuff. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for more than a standard up-do. She has a true talent!

My visit to Salon Voda was predicated on a gift certificate that stylist Anthony Petrulio donated to an auction at our local elementary school. (Bonus points for the generosity!) WOW! I am absolutely thrilled with Anthony's work. I went in for a fairly drastic change, and I could not be happier. Anthony did an amazing job - giving me exactly the cut I wanted and even improving on my idea.
I requested a few of his cards on my way out, knowing that I'd be asked who cuts my hair. That was four hours ago. I've already given out two cards to women who literally stopped me to ask where I got the cut. I will absolutely be back. Thank you, Anthony!

Sylvia Kim is the best stylist in the state of Washington! If I could give this place 10* I would! Background: I have been flying to SoCal to get haircuts since 2004 because of many many terrible haircuts in Washington (3 butchered my hair, and a different 3 tried to fix it. there goes $500). I have major trust issues about people cutting my hair (see above) and was very reluctant to find a stylist in Washington because I don't know anyone that is happy with their stylist and know of at least 4 other girls that fly elsewhere to get their hair done.
I had to find one in Washington to appease the boyfriend and I'm really glad I did because I found Sylvia! Sylvia knows how to cut hair! She isn't about fashion and the latest trends, she's about GLAMOUR! She won't just cut off your hair how she likes or like some stylists, only cut it the one way they know how. She will ask questions, figure out what you want, how much time you spend styling or taking care of your hair, looking at your facial features & structure, and figure out the best cut for YOU. I left feeling absolutely beautiful and incredibly happy! Love it! AND more importantly, my boyfriend LOVES IT!

I recently had my hair completely overhauled by Sylvia Kim of Salon Voda. I don't normally write reviews but I felt this one very necessary to share. Sylvia is a true artist. I asked her advice on what should be done with my unruly and most oft ridiculous hair. I am not very trusting when it comes to my hair due to some catastrophic past hair stylist incidents.
I put myself at Sylvia's mercy and I am ever so pleased that I was able. Sylvia cut and colored and foiled my hair, She also tinted my eyebrows. What she really did was give me an amazing gift. Every time I look in the mirror, I really love the way I look! It's a wonderful feeling! A serious confidence booster! I love the feeling! Spend some time in Sylvia's chair! You will not regret it! Who needs therapy? ~teehee! Thank you Sylvia!
