The couple who owns this salon recently re-located at Gemini Salon on Bascom in Campbell, where they continue to do their outstanding color and styling. I've been going to Roberta for over 20 years and i don't know a better colorist. She is that good! They relocated because their rent was raised so high they could simply not stay in that location. Jeff too is not only a real artist with hair, he's a very cool dude. Both with years of experience. You can get cheaper, you can pay more, but you can't do better.

I've been a more-than-satisfied client of Jeff Roberts at J.R. Roberts Salon for almost a decade. Jeff always listens carefully to my latest style request. (I like to change often.) Knowing my hair is thinnish and that I don't have a lot of time to spend on maintenance, Jeff shares his thoughts and honest opinion. He never fails to deliver a cut or color that lifts my spirits and looks terrific. I can't imagine going to another stylist and recommend his salon without reservation.

I recently visited Jeff for a haircut. My wife has been going there for a while and says it's the best place she's ever been to. I've been to many places over the years. I've had really cheap to moderately expensive. I thought I would try again. I've been frustrated because most places, no matter what I ask for, or how I explain it, they just do what they want.
Not here. Jeff listened to all of my issues and what I wanted. He analyzed my growth patterns and we made a plan for now and the future. He then gave me one of the best haircuts I've ever had. I would recommend this place to anyone. It truly was the best experience I've ever had in a salon.

Jeff is an artist. He gets color like nobody else. I didn't really appreciate this until I was looking at some photo albums from the past few years. When I was working I went to a pricey salon at the Stanford shoppping center, the color was good but the texture was stiff and frizzy. When I retired I tried to color my own hair, --disaster. Jeff gets both color and texture right, for much less than I was charged in Palo Alto, so good value for the money.

I've been going to JRRoberts for about 14 years. Consistent high quality and expertise every single time. Roberta is my stylist and absolutely nobody does color as well as she does. Her eye for color is simply awesome. Plus, I have fine hair with some problem spots, having had skin cancer removed from the top of my head a few years ago. Well first, Roberta is the one who urged me to get that spot looked at --thank God!
Then as I've healed she has figured out how to style it "no muss no fuss" and yet keep the scars hidden. Truly dedicated to her clients, talented, resourceful and welcoming. The best in the business.

Jeff is a genius. My hair has never consistently looked so good. For me, the sign of a great haircut is when my hair looks good on the days when I don't have time to style it -- just wash, dry, and go. No curling irons, hot rollers, straightening iron. When Jeff does my hair, we pass my little test with flying colors. This place gets bonus points because Roberta was able to squeeze me in for a cut and color when Jeff was out sick. Salon ambiance is nice & restful. It's inside a converted cute little California bungalow. Decorated with vintage chandeliers & old vanity/dressing tables. Refreshing change from the noisy chaos of most salons.
I also love how they always offer ice water, coffee, or tea. Makes the experience more pleasant, especially if you're sitting there for an extended time under the dryer.

I really like this salon. I got a deal off of Trubates, and it was a spur of a moment thing. The place seems to have originally been a small house, but I find it quite quaint and neat. I got a hair appointment with Roberta, and it did make me a little apprehensive since almost every review I read here seemed to be for Jeff. That being said, I absolutely loved everything about my hair treatment, cut, and gloss with her.
No water was splashed on my face during the wash, and I got tea. Even when my super stressed out friend (with a bit of a sailor mouth) unexpectedly told me she was dropping by, Roberta and Jeff were really nice about it. She wanted to cut short layers into my hair, and somehow convinced me (very sweetly though), and I'm very glad I got it. I usually hate new hair cuts for about a week, but after a day of getting used to my new cut, I decided I loved it.
I never really get compliments with my hair (I usually get the same old cut over and over again), but I got a decent amount this time and even approval from my mother. Goodness gracious! I do currently need a bang trim, so I'll probably see if I can stop by sometime. Anyways, I really like this place, and I'm more than willing to pay full price for my next cut.

Really cool salon. The place is set in a small house like area, but they definitely know what they are doing. The experience was so comfortable and they offer refreshments. The guy who did my hair was very friendly and helpful. He cut, shampooed, conditioned, and colored my hair. It was a great experience, and I got a really good deal from using one of the half off coupons from the deal websites.

I went to JR to get a Brazilian blowout after I read all the positive reviews on yelp. The only certified hairdresser for Brazilian blowout at this place did a horrible job with my hair, there was no change in my hair and it cost me over $300. I went to another hair dresser and she was upset and told me to go back to her and get my money back because she did such a horrible job!

I came here after my stylist, Nancy, did. She has been doing my hair for about a year now, and I am always thrilled with how my hair turns out. She is also going to do hair for my wedding. She is very professional, personable, and listens to what you want. Her new location at J/R Roberts is great. I love the little house that the salon is in - it's very unique.
