I had an appointment with Suri for a cut & color. It was my first time at this salon but not with Suri. I followed her here because I love her and trust her talents. She is a rock star colorist. On arriving, I felt like I had stepped back in time. This huge salon with tons of stations all over the place. There were curvy hallways and mirrors that made me feel like I was in a 1970's fun house.

No renovations have been done since this place was first opened decades ago. The place looked very busy and the stylists all seemed very professional. The clientele was mostly adorable seniors who probably have been coming here the last 50 years. I'm loved my services from Suri and will follow her anywhere - even if I had to hop in a time machine and go back to 1972!

I placed an order for some salon products and had excellent customer service when I emailed and called the spa. Krzyszyof was friendly, professional and very patient with me on the phone. I had several questions about the products and shipping etc. He took the time to answer everything and I'll definitely be stopping in when I'm next in Chicago, after things return to something more like normal. It's great to have such a positive experience during this time and to support small local businesses.

Very disappointing. You almost always assume your venture to the city and a pricey salon in downtown Chicago will result in excellent service including customer service. I went there with a gift certificate which I planned to use on my mother and myself for 2 no chip manicures and 2 spa pedicures. Upon the time of payment, the front desk receptionist told me I could not use the the certificate on my own services because the lady who had done them was a private entity from the salon.

If I had known this during scheduling, I would have not scheduled with her obviously. I mentioned over the phone that I would be using the certificate and anything leftover I would of course pay out of my pocket, yet they still scheduled me with her, and expected me to pay MORE without taking the rest of the money on the GC. For clear reasons, the gentlemen who took the payment (who appeared to be a manager, if not owner) was not happy knowing he'd have to pay the lady who did my nails. However, his attitude in front of customers was truly inappropriate. Moreover, the service itself was subpar, honestly it was very bad.

My no chip nails were completely crooked- I had to file them myself at the cafe we went to post our salon trip. The manicure was simply sloppy. The pedicure was decent. The same goes for my mother. Overall, I was not pleased considering how expensive the services were. The only thing that made me feel better about it all was the pleasant woman who did my mothers nails. She wasn't a very good manicurist, but my mom enjoyed her conversation with her. Moral of the story- don't waste your time and get your nails done in the suburbs.

I had my nails done here for my wedding (partially due to convenience because my dress was being prepped and steamed at the Dress Doctor next door) and they did a beautiful job. I got no-chip on my hands and regular polish on my toes, and I was very happy with the results. Would certainly return again!

Laura is the best! I love my haircut, she did a great job with long layers and the blow dry was fantastic! The salon itself it's also very beautiful.

I had a groupon for a hair cut with Laura, I really enjoyed my time with Laura. She was very knowledgeable and helpful with my current hair concerns! I am happy with the results of my cut. However, the salon is very dirty and outdated. You'll feel like you're walking into a time machine back to 1985. It smells like mothballs too. If you expect a glamorous salon above Michigan Ave you'll be disappointed.

I went to Elizabeth Adam Salon last Thursday for a Microdermabrasion Facial and getting my highlights. My facial was done by the amazing MIMI who was incredibly knowledgable and insightful about Microdermabrasion, and although it was only an hour long, I left feeling like my skin was lighter, cleaner, and more clear than after any wash, cream, or treatment I had used before.

She gave me better advice for care and after treatment than any of the dermatologists I have seen over the past four years. During the facial, my hands and feet were moisturized and I also received a head and neck massage. My satisfaction extends beyond my treatment with MIMI; the spa, overall, has welcoming and calming energy. This spa's decor is relaxing and warm, especially given their space.

My friends saw me after the treatment, they all said I look twenty years younger! Also special Thank you to Enisa for getting my highlights exactly how I wanted them AND for a perfect cut! I've not come across a stylist who enjoys her craft as much as Enisa does. I've been going to her for cuts for a while, but decided to try her for color and am delighted with the results!

From being a current client, Enisa was familiar with the texture and issues I have with my hair - fine and somewhat damaged from prior stylists using bleach for my highlights. She sincerely cares about helping clients get healthy, beautiful hair and always gives great tips and advice. Overall 5 STARS for MIMI and Enisa, the facial, stylist, friendly receptionists, and reasonably priced products! I will return next month and highly recommend these professionals. Totally worth the trek to use.

Hector is my colorist and he is excellent. I have been going to him almost a year now and he does a great job. The place needs upgrading everything is old. But I go because of Hector.

The women/drag queens at the front desk refused to let me use a gift card on my facial because the facial was on promotion. Never was this told to me either on their website or on the phone. They kept saying I was asking for too much of a discount by using a gift card. That makes no sense because someone bought the gift card. They got the money. They kept telling me that it would put them out of business to accept a gift card.

It was absurd. The esthetician was nice but her hands were freezing and I could tell she wasn't trained in massage even though she was trying to use massage techniques. My face has red marks and extractions were painful. The salon feels like you are walking into a closet from 1984 and it reeks of old balls. The front desk ladies could use some make up tips as their lipstick was drawn around the outside of their lips but their wigs at least were on tight.

I had the worst experience I have ever had in any hair salon in my life. The place was impossible to find, had me waiting for 20 minutes and then the hair assistant told me I was late and she was going to be late for her next appointment. The place was dirty, smelled nasty and every tool they had was either old or broken. They hurt me when brushing my hair repeatedly and didn't even follow my instructions of how I wanted it done, arguing "you are here, I do it my way".

I have been getting my hair colored for the past 6 years and this was THE best experience I have had. I got an appointment in 4 days and they sent an SMS reminder the day before. The ladies at the reception were courteous and led me in immediately without any wait. Batisha was my stylist and we spoke for 5-10 minutes and she truly listened as to what exact shade and style I was looking for.

She then worked meticulously (swift but not hurried). After washing and an initial blow dry, she felt it was too light for my skin tone and took me back to make the color appear darker. And then she gave me a perfect hair cut and styled it beautifully! she also showed me how to recreate it at home. Overall the experience was relaxing and I think I have definitely found my go to place for the perfect haircut and color! Thanks Batisha! See you soon.

THE WORST. I got a Groupon and they had to reschedule because the stylist I was booked with didn't do Groupons. Which is fine (too bad for them because I'm a great tipper), but when I went in two days later and there were two ladies at the front desk (one with short blonde and the other with short black hair). Neither one acknowledged me.

The salon looked geared towards older cliental so after 5 minutes of being ignored I decided maybe I'd step out for a minute and think about my decision. I looked up my account and they had "refunded" my Groupon. No one let me know or gave me any kind of notification. I started walking back in to complain and decided that maybe I caught a lucky break and just headed home.

I came to this salon after purchasing a Groupon for a haircut. First, I'll say that my haircut turned out very nice. I would give the haircut itself 4-5 stars (Batisha was professional and gave an amazing haircut). The salon, however, is incredibly dated and feels a bit like you have stepped back in time compared to the more modern salons around the city.

The service was priced well (with the groupon), efficient, and professional. Come here for a good haircut in a convenient location with kind staff, but don't expect the full fancy experience of other high end salons in the city.

Had a groupon for a few spa services (massage, facial). All other clients were 60+. My spa service was nothing to write home about. I think these services are tailored for an older clientele - almost no pressure applied during massage, facial massage, extractions were her just basically brushing my face with her fingers (not real extractions at all), and very lightly rubbing my face with these super cold spoons (?) Not sure my skin is any better for it and it took a really long time. Wouldn't recommend, unless a very very very noninvasive spa treatment is your thing.

Much older crowd here. A lot of short hair cuts, dye jobs and perms if you catch my drift. Given that, I was a little nervous when I stepped into the salon thinking I would surely leave looking like one of the Golden Girls. Hector was my stylist. I went from a medium length, drabby, hanging hairstyle to a super cute messy bob. Hector did a fantastic job. He was very detail oriented and it was apparent that he really cared about my cut. I would come back just for him.

How do they stay in business when the customer service is so disappointing? I had a bad experience with making the appointment, attempting to reschedule it, and actually having my haircut. The cut and style was fine, which is why they get two stars and not just one. Severely disappointing. Feels like a club where outsiders of their mirror-covered 80's-inspired clique are not welcome. : And she asked me personal questions about my love life. uncalled for!

After my first visit to the Spa and my subsequent review I got an email from Elizabeth Adam herself. She explained that they have changed the way they check people out that use Groupons (or the like), and she gave me the low-down on the "walking on stones" service that I experienced. Turns out, it's based on something called grounding, where a person derives good energy by being barefoot with the earth.

And I get that, few things in life are better than being barefoot on a beach. So, if you get that treatment, that's what that's about. She then offered me a free facial with Ada, which was beyond generous. I went in on Tuesday and spent an hour and a half in Ada's capable hands. I believe the service was actually the collagen facial to be more specific.

I left feeling relaxed and glowing and was very happy with my experience. And then the next day I went to Macy's to pick some items up and THREE SEPARATE people told me how beautiful I am. Sure they were probably trying to sell me something, but that can't be a coincidence! Thank you for the customer service, Elizabeth Adam.
