The WORST salon. You can NOT rely on the front desk. Every time I've made an appointment the stylist is not there or unavailable but they'll give you another stylist.usually the weakest link. Unreliable it will ruin your day, event and hair!

I love Rhi, she has done my hair twice. And she is very talented, not only she is helpful at explaining her job, she is very nice and kind. She always answers back on social media to any questions, she was willing to give me a consultation where we went through every step and what my goal was and she nailed it!

I have been going to Strokirk Salon for years and everyone I have used for color, cut or a blow dry has been excellent., Beautiful salon great location.

Went in for a last minute haircut with Tyler and I loved it! He was sure to check in with me at every step to make sure he understood what I was looking for. I ended up with some beautiful layers. Thanks, Tyler!

Never write reviews, but please save your money $$$. I cannot comprehend an establishment charging $500 for hair color and them not doing a good job. They charged for toner and then charged the customer again to remove it because the colorist didn't deliver on the highlight color. When expressed disappointment, Rhi @donebyrhi was emotional and unprofessional. Disappointed in the whole process and customer service. Please go elsewhere. No one deserves to be scammed like this.

The only place to get your hair done right. Solid prices, not cheap but not outlandish. Valet parking and nice atmosphere. Ask for Fred, he's the best!

Got my hair professionally colored for the first time by Rhi @donebyrhi and it was such a pleasant experience! I loved the way my hair turned out, the color was exactly what I wanted. She was so kind and patient throughout the process, would definitely recommend anyone to go to her!

From the entrance to the chair, my experience at this salon has been nothing short of welcoming. You can tell the talent here prides themselves on their work. I'm a long-time client of Rhi at Marianne Strokirk. From my first appointment to my latest, she's always taken the time to listen to my vision and works diligently to make sure I am happy with my results.

She develops the formulas/mixes best for my hair; I'm always impressed at how she nails it. I've left straight from the salon to a dinner date; I trust the team there to make sure I feel good when I leave. You can tell Rhi cares a lot! I usually drive to my appointments, and parking is not difficult if you plan ahead.

Rhi @donebyrhi is below average job with customer service and color. The request was for Sarah Jessica Parker highlights and the color started at my chin instead of my roots. Paid $500 and my hair look like it is 4 months grown out. Would caution to what people see on Instagram. There is a reason she has people sign contracts and it is because it is overpriced and she does not deliver. Would NOT recommend. Side note: Dennis Bartolomei Salon always delivers and when there is an edit or adjustment that needs to be done, they welcome you back with open arms.

Save your money and do not go to @donebyrhi. The color and execution was not there. Rhi is very kind, but loses perspective and puts herself before the customer in situations where the customer should come first. She is not adaptable which is unfortunate. That little touch makes someone feel like that half a grand was worth it versus not worth it. Will not be returning. Have nothing bad to say about the salon and the environment. It was very pleasant.

I was long overdue for a hairdye and the salon is closer than the other one so I will return for a haircut soon! Braxton did a wonderful job evening out my hair color since my ends were very faded. The price is a little higher than I was paying at a different salon but I had to cab further.

This is arguably the best hair salon in Chicago. It features expert hair stylists and colorists that are very experienced and demonstrate a high level of training and years of designing and coloring hair. They are warm, gracious, and welcoming in their treatment of clients. I and many of my friends have been clients since they opened their doors over 30 years ago!

Just received the BEST highlights in years.or possibly ever.from Jayden. He responded to my Salon Apprentice inquiry. You never know what to expect using a platform like Salon Apprentice, but I figure, it's just hair, right? Wow, did I luck into something awesome! I could not be more thrilled! Jayden's attention to detail is impeccable. He even used techniques I've never received before and they made a big difference!

My color is so dimensional and he even added some killer curls for the photo-op. I left feeling fabulous about myself. All of the staff is fun and personable which really added to the experience. I will definitely be back, and I hope the salon knows what great talent it is fostering!

Every employee I interacted with was super personable and sweet! My appointment started on time, which is rare in my experience. My stylist, Riley, absolutely crushed it. She did exactly what I was looking for and was transparent with prices and her professional opinion. I definitely will be going back, and I am SO pleased with the results. One thing I didn't realize though is that tip is cash only, so be prepared! There's an ATM in the salon if you need it.

Mini is the best! She takes great care of my hair makes sure it's healthy. Listens to me and gives me her ideas as well. She's so loving and great at what she does.

I never write reviews but am so happy with my haircut done by Isaac that I had to share! I usually despise getting my hair cut because I don't like the end result but Isaac made my hair look CHIC AF. He listened to my vague ideas of what I wanted and created a masterpiece. He exceeded my expectations and was a joy to talk with. Make an appt with Isaac and you will not regret it!

For haircuts, Fred is great and I highly recommend him. For color, consider going elsewhere. I've had one person completely ignore my instructions and give me exactly the color I asked her not to give me. The next person -- a senior colorist -- did a moderately good job the first time I saw him, but the second was a disaster. I booked partial highlights.

When I arrived, he already had a color mixed (they normally discuss color with you ahead of time) and then proceeded to touch up my roots because my prior highlights had grown out. But he touched them up with single process color without even discussing this with me. Why? His explanation had to do with saving me money, but it was still really expensive because they charge extra for glaze and a conditioning treatment that are normally included elsewhere.

So now I have no highlights (and, in fact, a weird reddish color with lighter hair at my scalp, a dark band below it, and then my grown-out highlights below that--somewhat muted by the glaze). The colorist was also very sloppy with the color--he slapped it on, got it all over my forehead (and one eyebrow!), and didn't bother to wipe it off. So now I have a stained section of skin around my scalp.

This was a senior, expensive colorist. Like I said, I'll go back to Fred for cuts, but I won't go here for color. They don't do a good job, charge for things they shouldn't, and don't seem to follow basic procedures for discussing what will be done with their customers. Honestly, if you haven't started going here yet, I'd give it a pass and try somewhere else. Avoid the mess.

Honestly? Save your time and money and go somewhere else. It's just not worth paying $500. You can get the better quality, level of service, and overall salon experience somewhere else with more bang for your buck. I had a balayage by Rhi and a haircut by Violet and they're both.okay. The balayage is pretty but it was pretty at the other salon I went to before trying this one out too.

The haircut is definitely ugly but I'm not one to cry over spilled milk. A bad haircut is a bad haircut -- throw it in a ponytail and it'll grow out in a couple of months. It's not the end of the world, especially in a pandemic where nobody is really seeing it. What's really upsetting is what you have to pay for mediocre results.

I find $400 for an okay balayage and $100 for a bad haircut to be way too much. I spent $500 at this salon to walk out and look in my car mirror and say "Eh. Guess it'll grow out in a few months." So some technical things: the balayage was $350 and then there was an added charge for toner (which I have never seen added ON TOP of a balayage service cost) and a protein treatment (which I was not told was being added or given the option to opt-out of).

I came in for a touch-up because it had been 4 months since my last balayage and it looks.pretty much the same. I came home and my roommate asked me if I decided to skip the balayage and just get my hair cut which is not what you want to hear after dropping that much money lol. After that, my stylist was late so I sat on the bench by the hair dryers after my color with my sopping wet hair for over half an hour waiting for her.

To be quite honest, being kept waiting so long with nobody even checking in on me and then having to pay $100 for a service that took less than the time I waited really irked me. As for the haircut. I asked for a few face framing layers but really stressed that I have fine hair and don't want it to look thin. Her solution to that was to basically put short layers in the front half of my head and then a blunt cut on the last layer, which is two inches longer than the other layers.

I truly cannot emphasize how bad it looks I won't be going back to this salon. I don't mind spending a hefty amount of money on hair services, but they have to be worth the price tag and they just are not here.

I have gotten three keratin treatments now, 2 regulars, one express. I would not recommend the express, did nothing, literally nothing for my hair. I have mixed biracial hair so maybe it was that. The regular makes me natural hair look nice but doesn't get rid of the frizziness from the humidity when I straighten it. Its also $480. A little more than other places.

Marianne Strokirk Salon is handling COVID better than any business I can think of! They're really communicative about updates, have modified the stations to create distance, everyone gets their temperatures taken, and of course, we all wear masks. However, it feels like such a nice slice of normalcy. I'm so happy with everything they are doing and so appreciate the hard work. Thank you to everyone at the salon during this incredibly weird time!

Obsessed with how my hair turned out! The front desk staff were easy to talk to and helped with coordinating scheduling for my friend and I to get our hair treatment and cuts done. We had to book during two separate dates because of the availability of who we preferred to get our hair done by. I was able to get my hair cut with Jordan who was amazing and really knowledgeable on what to do with my hair.

She was super sweet and easy to talk to as well! My second visit I did my full balayage by Jillian who helped me figure out what color tones I wanted in my hair just by looking at a million of balayage pictures I just showed her! It took almost 3 hours for my balayage to be completed, but I was so amazed that she did a great job on the color and styling my hair afterwards. You pay for the quality of the service and it was sooo worth it!

I found this salon through recommendations from a few friends. I had a balayage appointment with Rhi on a Saturday morning. After making my appointment, I received an email with instructions about parking and my appointment confirmation days before the actual appointment. I really appreciate these little reminders even though I knew it was coming up!

Parking wasn't bad at all. There's valet parking in the garage off of banks st for a discounted price, which they indicated in the email. I arrived 30 min before my actual appointment time, but Rhi was kind enough to take me right away. We talked through my coloring history and she made a recommendation for a deep conditioning treatment after lightening my hair since it was dry.

She was very honest with her recommendations so I absolutely trusted her. Rhi took her time foiling my hair and making sure that the color was just right. During my rinse and deep conditioning, she gave a nice massage lol! It was so relaxing and the chair was so comfy. After I blow dried my hair, she curled and styled my hair for after photos! I love how it turned out!

Through her recommendation, I purchased a deep conditioning treatment to do 2-3x a week and since it was my first visit I received 20% off and they also have a referral program for a discount off your overall service. Verdict: I've found my go to colorist! Rhi was very sweet, honest, and didn't make me feel rushed at all. I highly recommend her and you can check out her work on her IG @donebyrhi

I love love love this salon. It's chic and very modern when you walk in. The reception desk, Jeanette and Ale, are so friendly and accommodating when you walk in. I normally see Jordan & Jillian to cut and color my hair and have been with them for over a year now. Jillian always takes me to the lightest I always want to be and continues to keep the integrity of my hair good. Rhi is a fabulous colorist as well. Jillian and Rhi both tag teamed my last appointment to tackle 6 months of root growth. Jordan always cuts just what I want and need.

Never too much, just a clean up with beautiful layers and movement to my hair. My hair used to be very dense and she was able to make it lighter. This also helped my color even better. I've seen Violet as well before, for trims when Jordan's not available as well as to style my hair. These girls are my hair dream team. The never fail to disappoint me or any of the people I send in.

You should stop looking for another salon and come in to see these women! This place is cash tips only, but there's an ATM in the back and parking valet in the building as well!
