My girl Tyce is the greatest! Yes we all say our stylist is the greatest, but my stylist is the GOAT! I am the crazy pixie hair lady that doesn't ever trust anyone. Tyce has gained my trust so much that I now don't even worry about a thing the moment I sit in her chair. Oh and Salon Povera is great too! Lol! The atmosphere it awesome, and the conversation is always interesting! You guys all rock!

From the moment you walk in the door everyone is so friendly. I am always nervous about finding somewhere to get my haircut because I have curly hair. But Tice was amazing! She really listen to me and did exactly what I asked and I left feeling like 1 million bucks.

Patrick is truly an amazing stylist and he can do color better than most stylists I know! I highly recommend him and any of his staff for your hair needs!

I feel amazingggg! Katie did an amazing job cutting off about 8 inches of my hair and styling it to perfection. I love the vegan products they use as well!

I have yet to leave disappointed with my haircut! Skye does an amazing job, and everyone is friendly and knows the ins and outs about styling and coloring. Highly recommend.

I got a haircut and a balayage with Katie, which went well. Initially I wasn't as happy with how it turned out but Katie and the other team members were very nice, understanding, and accommodating. Katie listened to my requests and immediately addressed them, after which I was very happy with my haircut and my color. Katie and the rest of the team members went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with the haircut and the experience in their salon. As a bonus I got great suggestions about things to do for my vacation from Patrick. Overall, would highly recommend this salon.

Skye colored my hair today. I needed to get rid of my grays and wanted to go darker. My grays are now gone and my hair is a pretty shade of brown. I felt like Skye was really attentive to my hair. She also cleaned it up for me. I look forward to seeing how my hair does these next few weeks.

Great staff. Fun environment. Great location. Clean and professional experience with all the Southern Salon Charm you would expect. First haircut since lockdown and Skye strategized, then cut and styled my new look almost intuitively while walking this previous "crew-cutter" through the care and future maintenance of my now longer locks. Highly recommended and her experience shows with the final "soap opera hair" outcome (that's a good thing).

Subzero cryotherapy for my seriously dry hair! Highlights and a perm did some damage and these guys fixed it! Basically like brand new hair from a baby horse! All for a super reasonable price! Love these guys! Will be back soon

Tice is amazing! After box coloring my hair for many years the color was no longer what I wanted (too dark) and I wanted to go back to my natural color. Tice was great and took on the challenge! It was a long process as she took great care in getting rid of my "chocolate cherry" hair color so my hair would not be damaged. I absolutely love it! I trust her wholeheartedly with whatever recommendations she makes for my hair. Tice also did an awesome job cutting my hair.

I tried several salons since moving to NC 6 years ago and was not happy ~ but Tice. She HEARD me and really listened to my vision of what I wanted my hair to look like and I LOVE IT! The staff are very friendly and welcoming and I love the family bantering that goes on with the stylists and owner Patrick. Very relaxed atmosphere! I am so happy I found this salon

Katie did my haircut. I was a little disappointed that she didn't really give me much of a consult. Also a little disappointed that she didn't give me a full shampoo (I felt when I left my hair looked and felt greasy still). I am sure it was because I did point out to her that my hair had been shedding a lot lately but still. I would have rather had a wash and slipped on the brush blow dry since I felt that was more unhealthy for my hair. Overall she did what I asked and gave me a good haircut with layers.

This salon is the best kept secret in Durham. but it would be selfish not to share this with others! The service is excellent, well-priced and Skye has an incredible knowledge base of how to care for and maintain your style. I left feeling confident and reassured of my choice. This is the best hair cut I've gotten, hands down, and I've been to MANY places over the years that have ruined my hair.

I'm so happy I found Salon Povera! I was hopeful I'd find someone special after moving to a new state. I felt right at home with the friendly vibe here. Erica gave me exactly what I needed, and I look forward to the next time I can go hang out and feel refreshed.

I love my hair! This is the best place I have gone too! Brittney Tice was the one who did my hair and she is so amazing and patient! She left my hair exactly how I wanted and so beautiful and soft. I completely trust them with my hair and will only be going here from now on. The atmosphere is very nice and the rest of the stylists' are super sweet and awesome at what they do as well. 10/10 experience!

I came into Salon Povera after receiving a terrible haircut elsewhere and Patrick saved the day! He is extremely detail oriented, he listens to your vision, answers all of your questions and he's an expert colorist. Don't waste your time anywhere else. First visit, so I'll have to add more after I've spent a little more time here, but I was really happy with the service I got here! The business owner messaged me back after I sent a request fairly late on a Friday evening, and I was able to get a next-day appt after a last minute cancellation. Skye did a fantastic job, and the vibe of the salon was so friendly and comfortable! I'll definitely be back!

They are just simply amazing! I do not have enough nice things to say about Tice. She did just an amazing job fixing my hair from a previous bad hair coloring. She was able to completely transform my hair and achieve the exact look I was going for, though it was a drastic transformation. Both Patrick and Tice are fun, warm and made me feel so comfortable. Their communication via phone and email is amazing, and quick. The salon is clean and all staff wear masks, gloves. 100% recommend them.

Hands down one of the best salons I have been to on the east coast. So glad to have found my go-to salon in Durham. Went there first for a haircut and then balayage. Patrick is a sweetheart and I couldn't have been happier with the services. Highly recommend it!

I don't usually leave review if the service/outcome is mediocre. I've been to heaps of salon (around the triangle) where the reviews are glowing, mostly due to haircolor/haircare but when you go for basic haircut, the result is a blah. A. HAIRSTYLIST: I just had my haircut done by TICE - I was highly satisfied. I remembered my fave hairdresser in NJ, lol! Tice - aside from she's easy to talk to, I've noticed that she is expert in her field of expertise, did not rush my shampooing, haircut, blowdrying - made sure that the outcome of my requested layered hair with side-swept fringe (soft point cut) was great.

Her techniques in haircutting were superb. In addition, did not judge my unkempt, thick hair with xxy colors & grey hairs. Can't wait to have a hair color with her. Thanks, Tice! B. Tricia is AMAZING. I went to Salon Povera after getting a horrible haircut somewhere else. Tricia was able to work with it and give me the cutest haircut ever. I have curly hair, so sometimes it's difficult to find someone who knows their way around curls, but Tricia knew what she was doing and guided me through what products she used and gave me some styling ideas. This is definitely my new salon, I'll recommend it to everyone!

Y'all, RUN don't walk to Salon Povera to see Skye! I have never in my life loved a haircut so much - truly walked out of the salon feeling more confident and beautiful. I absolutely enjoyed my experience. Patrick was an absolute delight. He took the time to listen to what I want and my concerns which I have yet to experience elsewhere. I appreciate his input and guiding me on what we can do to achieve my vision with myself liftestyle. He understood my curls and worked with them. He also helped me understand my curls better and what changes I can make to my shampoo routine.

My fine curly hair has shine and body. The biggest thing is how soft my hair feels! My curly hair girls know how huge that can be. I can't wait for the full transformation once we get color on this hair and bring further life and dimension to my curls.

Erica is a goddess, a gorgeous hair styling goddess. When I first moved to NC I had an awful salon experience where I went to get a haircut for my curly hair, my expectations were set at a nicely shaped bob, I walked out with a pixie. Needless to say I was scared from salons for a while. Decided to dip my toe back in and get my hair cut and my purple color professionally done and took a stroll through Yelp reviews.

What i read sold me on Salon Povera and I setup a consult with Erica to get her feelings on the state of my hair and the cut I wanted. She was fantastic then, walking me through what she would do and showing me the purple color swatches they had. I was comfortable so booked the appointment. Went in today and from start to finish she was funny, engaging and really took her time to get my hair to what I wanted. I'm so happy with the cut and over the moon with the color.

But Erica isn't the only fabulous person at the salon, everyone I interacted with are just absolute sweethearts. I'm so excited to have found my new salon, cant wait to tell others about them and I really encourage that if you're on the fence to setup a consultation, they'll take amazing care of you.

I would drive to the ends of the earth for Patrick to cut my hair and sometimes I do.like last weekend I drove from Cape May NJ because I would rather wait to see Patrick than have anyone else cut my wavy, thick, grey hair. It has a life of its own. I get complimented all the time and I always give credit where credit is due.to my stylist! I absolutely loved my experience at Salon Povera! I'm relatively new in town and was not excited about having to find a new hair salon. Now that I've found Salon Povera I definitely do not have to look anymore. They were professional, fun and it was so relaxing. I got a cut&balayage and it turned out exactly how I had asked! I got in with Patrick yesterday, I love him. He's so sweet and personable and the man can do some hair! I went and got my hair blonde this summer in Florida and my grays work crazy growing out! What a wonderful find! Look how consistent and high the reviews are for Salon Povera! Yes, always a negative mugwort or two but wow this is a great place with excellent stylists! I chose PATRICK to recut my hair, but I feel strongly that the other stylists would have been great choices due to the other reviews. I loved that Patrick understood my finer hair and could see immediately where the last cut went wrong.

As a hairdresser from a zillion years ago I could feel and see Patrick assess and reassess my locks as he went along. He is truly an artist and understands the mathematics of an exceptional cut. This place is near Southpoint Mall over ACROSS the street from the Kroger (which may be shut down soon?) and McD's-- Right next to the new Sprouts Grocery Market on Rt 54! Salon Povera also offers online bookings via various sites where you can see prices for their offerings.
