Roxy's Hair Studio

This is my first time reviewing anything. Honestly if I could give this place a 0 I would. I went here a week before I got married. The girl who I normally went to at Roxys, was not longer available. I was in contact with a stylist at another Salon who ghosted me after a month of communication and appointment set up, so I was desperate. I did research on who to go to and looked at photos on FB and IG.

Because I had already seen another one of their stylist for a year, I figured it would be fine. My hair was absolutely destroyed by one of their stylists the week before my wedding. I asked her to add more blonde and touch up my roots. My hair was already balayaged so I figured what could go wrong with a root touch up and just adding a few more blonde pieces.

The craziest part? THEY ALSO RUINED MY COUSINS HAIR the same week! I didn't even know she was going until she called me to tell me what happened. BOTH of us, in the same week! Two different stylists! We used to see Elizabeth here but she has since moved on. When I tried to contact the Salon owner, the employees kept telling me she would contact me but she never did.

The stylist was nice and offered to BLEACH it again but I declined. This isn't a judge of her character but of her work. She then reached out to me VIA text and told me she was going to CHARGE ME a minimum of $75 to fix it. This was according to the Salon owner. When I got to the salon 4 days later, I was so upset I could barely talk to the stylist in an effort to hold back tears.

I had her dye it all black in a desperate attempt to fix it. This was on Wednesday night, I got married on Saturday. 2 years of multiple sessions, time and $$ down the drain AND my healthy beautiful long hair was brittle and breaking off. My hair was literally breaking off every time I brushed it and it was orange. Actually, it broke off even if I ran my fingers through it.

The damage was so bad that I cut it to my shoulders a couple months after my wedding, and after growing it out for 2 years. Every time I brushed it, so much hair fell out in PIECES, tiny little pieces. I had very healthy FULL hair before and what you see in the first photo took 3 sessions. The worst part? I paid $300 for it! And never got a refund, and like I said, they tried to charge me STARTING at $75 to dye it black.

You can see the breakage and how the fullness of my hair deteriorated 2 months later. The stylist tried to blame it on me for "lack of communication" and "not explaining myself well." I don't know how hard it would be to understand I wanted a little more blonde and to touch up my roots. I already had a balayage.

Went to get highlights with Rae. She was very professional and did an amazing job with my hair! She explained everything to me and went step by step on what was going on since it was my first time changing hair color. This is a picture of my hair with the new color! Took my 3 year old here and the stylist, I believe her name was Megan, was fantastic! Definitely recommend her! For doing a great job, she gave my daughter a bow of her choice and my 3 year old was ecstatic!

They opened an hour late, so I was waiting outside the building for the stylist to show up. After a bit I left and called and left a voicemail asking them to let me know if my appointment was still on for the day. The stylist called me to let me know because she was running late I'd either have to have a quick dry hair cut or I'd have to reschedule because she had other appointments to get to. Really unprofessional and unapologetic.

Megan saved my hair! A stylist at Magnolia Salon in Normal fried it and the cut was horrid! Megan listened to what my hair usually looked like and we discussed the plan of action. She combined a wonderful deep conditioning (the Milkshake Products are heavenly) with a haircut that I love! My hair felt and looked like dry brittle grass when I went in and it was adorable when I left. Megan is fun, energetic and listens to her clients! I have finally found my "hair home" in Blo-No and Megan will be my go to stylist!

Kayla is the best. Nice to talk to, gives honest opinions, and always makes me feel good when I leave. Roxys always has any products I need as well. I had been looking for a heat protection for a couple weeks, mentioned it once, and had it in my hand before I left WITH the best use instructions. Plus, my roommate also had a cream she had been looking for, and found it here. 10/10 would recommend to anybody looking for a good place to get their hair taken care of.

Got there 15 minutes early for my appointment and then the appointment didn't start until 30 min after my original time and nobody greeted me until 10 min after I was standing at the front desk. Then my hair cut was uneven and my hair was so many different colors. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU ARE BLONDE. Thankfully, Ericka fixed it enough (after FOUR hours) but I will never step foot in this salon again, even though it was modern and well decorated and decently priced. Overall, staff seemed like they needed more training with the hair dye color brand they use.

I processed for FORTY minutes and my hair is fried - I have never had such a bad color and I have been dying my hair for 7 years. Not to mention this was the weekend before my graduation - traumatic to say the least.

This place is so cute and comfortable. I'm new to the Bloomington area so I was nervous to go to a new hair place. The online booking was super easy. I selected any hairstylist and had my appointment with Megan. She was so friendly and did such a good job. The place is super affordable too and not overpriced.

I came in with really long hair and an uneven undercut looking shaggy and feeling overwhelmed! I wasn't sure what I really wanted, but Kayla did a great job listening to me and she figured out a haircut that will work for my lifestyle. My confidence was through the roof when I left the salon. I wish I had found this place sooner since I graduate in May, but I will definitely be back.

This is by far the best place I've ever been to have my hair done! As soon as you walk in, you feel so welcomed. Staff is fantastic and so kind! Wendy styled my hair and did the best job I've had done! This is my new spot from here on out! She takes great pride not only with her wonderful talent, but truly cares about her customers. I can't say enough good about this place! I love it and I feel so brand new!

Roxy's Hair Studio is wonderful. Everyone there is very experienced and I have received excellent cuts and color every time I go, no matter who does my hair. My kids also get their haircuts from Roxy. She is so patient with the kids and does such a great job helping them feel relaxed and at ease while getting their hair cut. Love the people and the environment- it's a great place to go!

After moving to the Blo-No area for graduate school, I was really nervous about finding a new hairdresser. With curly hair, it's difficult to find someone who knows how to cut it well and I've had multiple bad experiences in the past. After reading the reviews on Roxy's website I called and she was so sweet and understanding about my nerves. I've been going back ever since my first cut (almost 2 years now). Roxy takes her time and really makes sure I'm happy with how my hair looks.

Since my hair can be temperamental, even if I go home and find that I'm not 100% happy with it the next day, I can come back and know Roxy will make it look just how I want it to. She even does free bang trims in between visits! Roxy is an incredible person and hairdresser and her salon is very clean and cute- give her a try and you'll be happy you did!

I used Roxy for my wedding on August 2, 2014. I had scheduled a trial at another salon and had a bad experience, and she was able to get me in for a trial two days before the wedding and on the wedding day for me and my stepdaughter (flower girl), me with Roxy and flower girl with Nic. I loved how my hair looked, and she worked with me to do exactly how I wanted it.

On the day off, my family basically took over their entire space while me and my stepdaughter had our hair done, and they were really patient and understanding. They even let my sister borrow a straightener and Nic did a quick style on her hair while she was waiting, which we hadn't even scheduled with them. Her prices were also very reasonable. I will definitely use Roxy again and would recommend her.

Do not EVER go here! If I could I wouldn't even give them one star. Lets start from the beginning I made my appointment with Roxy at 10:30am. I got there at 10:15, enough time to let them see that I am there and to start wrapping things up with the previous customer. When I first walked in I received no greeting, and I walked RIGHT pass Roxy!

After the clock rolled to 10:31 and another girl came in I asked the front desk guy if Roxy is here (I didn't know that was her I walked passed) He was like "oh yeah she's right there, but she is running late you will be after the girl next to you." I was said "um.okay" He then proceeded to ask me " do you have a busy day or something?" All I wanted to yell at him was. UH no but if I made my appointment at 10:30 I expect to get my hair cut at 10:30.

I just said "yes". Long story short, I didn't get into the chair until 11:10 which is 40mins past my scheduled appointment. She did not even wash my hair, she used the dirty hair bib thing, that they use to cover you, on me right after the other customer just wore it, and it was still wet. She hardly talked to me and was talking to other people waiting, and to top it all off she did not even do the hair cut I showed her. It is way shorter, uneven and completely layered wrong. DO NOT GO HERE!

I'm a person who has a ton of anxiety about going to the dentist or getting my hair cut. The lady who cut my hair was friendly and the cut is amazing. She knew how to cut my hair in a way that was very flattering to my facial shape. The cut is lovely and so was the hairdresser. I'll definitely be returning!

I went to this salon because of all the good reviews, and their website. It was very easy to setup an appt. online. It was not as easy to find this place, though. I parked in front, where the sign is. I didn't see any other signs leading to the business though. I inquired at another business nearby. She said to walk around back, which I did. It was very confusing, there is another business in the back--but no signs on the doors.

I walked in (thankfully it was the right place) and was greeted rather rudely by Shannon saying are you my ten o'clock--she never addressed me by name (nor did she tell me her name--I only figured it out from other reviews I read. The cut/color was okay, nothing special though. And Shannon didn't talk to me (neither did Roxy) except for just the basics.

They were both very standoffish, and borderline rude. I will not go back to this salon because of these factors. My suggestion: Get a sign on your door and be more friendly! SDC

They are so great love the hair cut and super cheap!! Was so inviting!! Friendly atmosphere almost like being at home!! Definitely coming back!!

If you need a new look or freshen up the look you love, ROXY'S is the place to go! I found the environment beautifully uncomplicated and layed-back. The staff warm and welcoming, as well as, knowledgeable, professional and extremely skilled! My stylist, Wendy Jo, once again, worked her magic on my 50+ year old head of hair and I am THRILLED with the results!!! I look 20 yrs younger!!! If there was a patent saint of hair, her name would be Saint Wendy! I HIGHLY recommend WENDY and ROXY'S for all your hair care needs!!

Roxy is very skilled and meticulous. She understands and respects her clients, focuses on the work, and delivers high quality services. She's good with kids too. I've been taking my daughter to her salon since my daughter was 9 months old and I've been going there for almost 5 years. I highly recommend her.

Wow, my girls had such a fabulous experience at Roxy's yesterday, our first time there! My older daughter loves her long hair and was nervous and undecided about getting enough cut off to donate. Roxy took the time to show her how much would come off, what it would look like, what she could do with it and she finally decided to go ahead. I can't tell you how many times my daughter said last night that she LOVES her new haircut, and she's so glad she decided to donate. Both girls donated their hair and we love the beautiful cuts Roxy gave them. She takes her time and was so kind. We will definitely be back!
