Krista graduated from Ames Professional Cosmetology Institute in 2002. She knew from a young age that she wanted to do hair and own a salon. Her first love is hair but in the last few years, business has become my passion. She loves watching people thrive and grow in their careers. She trains new team members and passes down to them all the knowledge she's learned so that they have quick and successful growth! She likes to say that she's never 'worked' a day in her life because her career is her passion.
Kelley graduated from PCI Academy in 2010. She loves having the passion, creativity, and education to accentuate the outer/inner beauty, as well as the confidence of clients. She will always go the extra mile to make others around her feel comfortable and have a good time. Clients are faithful to her expertise and she always gives them her best.

I had a bad experience with them I made an appointment and I asked about relaxer they suggested to me a keratin max this the first thing and after I came katleen started to put the product in my hair I asked her is it works well and make my hair straight and smooth she said yes 80% after you wash your hair become smooth this the second thing, she finished from putting the product and she asked another girl to do the rest that girl told me it's not gonna work like I want and like they told me and this happened before a day of my trip can you imagine i hadn't any time to search for another place

We had the pleasure of working with Saleen while we were there. She cut my 6 yr olds hair for the very first time and she was incredible! She listened to what my daughter wanted for a cut and even pursuaded her to skip the bangs, something I had been unable to accomplish before hand. The haircut was perfect, my daughter loved it! The salon is very clean and professional as was the staff. There was enough room for both my husband and I to sit and enjoy the experience with our daughter. I would highly recommend Studio 7 Salon and Saleen!

The team at studio 7s always make me feel comfortable in my skin. Being a man- it's not entirely normalized to go get your hair done at a salon. I'll never color anywhere else after my experience here. The price is fair, the color stays, and you will leave with a smile on your face. A no brainer. Service: Hair coloring

I was struggling finding places who took precautions to a level I was comfortable with and I am so thankful that studio 7 as looking out for the best interests of their guests and employees. The staff at this salon is very happy and professional and I am more than overjoyed with my new haircut. I went in to cut my very long hair and donate a ponytail for wigs 4 kids. Even though my google booking did not go through they accomodated me right away and the hairdresser knew exactly how to cut the ponytail to donate and how to style my hair after it was cut even know I was not able to explain exactly how I wanted my new short haircut to be.
I have never been this happy with a haircut before and I am not easily pleased when it comes to my hair. I recommend this salon 100%. They styled my hair before a wedding two years ago and they did an awesome job too.

Have had two excellent experiences at the South Location. They're taking every precaution to make sure both the customers and employees are safe. This is extra important to me right now as I will be getting married next weekend! I was in a couple months ago and, the stylist, Casey did an awesome job. After mentioning this visit was my haircut for our big day Casey made sure to take some extra time to make every last bit perfect. Can't recommend this place enough!

I've had great experience with this salon for about one year, but my last visit will prevent me from returning. My previous stylist no longer worked here so I was assigned to another stylist who left my hair crooked to the point where the sides are about 0.5-1 off, so I am unable to wear it straight. After calling the salon regarding the issue, I was presented with only one option to fix it that included taking more time out of my day to return and trimming the side that's too long. Unfortunately, I had only wanted less than 0.5 inches cut off in the first place, so this resolution is not appealing, and none of the people I spoke to on the phone seemed to understand this issue.

I have to leave Studio7 because I'm leaving town and I'm so sad! I've been coming here to get my hair done for about a year and I have a great experience every time. I've never had to wait long for an appointment--at times I'd come 5 minutes early and my stylist would still see me right away. They always do a great job with my hair and really listen to what I want. I've had to reschedule appointments last minute at times and they can still squeeze me in (which is essential when you're naturally a dark brunette with platinum blonde hair.gotta get those roots done on a pretty consistent schedule!). I'm shocked to see some other low reviews because I've always had great results, wonderful and friendly service, and convenient scheduling!
It is pricey compared to other places in Ames, but reasonable based on most other salons I've been to, and a total bargain for the quality of service you get. Keep up the good work Studio7!

I had a really great experience at Studio 7. I have been there for several different services: sugaring, pedicure, manicure, hair color, and toner. All of them have been great. I have never had my hair colored before, and my stylists (Kace) did a great job. She listened to what I wanted and really went through the details of how I wanted things to come out. I think overall they are running a great business!

Only been here once & that was enough. Staff came off like they were annoyed I was there, especially my stylist. I wanted a wash & cut, but when I asked for a wash, she looked at me so appalled. She definitely didn't want to do it and even made me feel guilty for asking. For how much I paid, the service I got was disappointing. The salon itself is pretty and has the upscale feel but I left feeling horrible.

I had a massage scheduled and ended up having to cancel it, unexpectedly. I called in the morning of my appointment and spoke with (I believe) Bethany. She was absolutely the RUDEST front desk staff at a spa I've ever spoken to. I had no clue that there was a cancellation policy if you canceled less than 24hrs before your appt. I wasn't told that over the phone when I made the appointment.
So when Bethany told me about the policy, its a very standard policy; no complaints from me about the policy. My complaint is how Bethany handled it. "Well didn't someone tell you the cancellation policy? Well, now you know for next time." Very snotty and very rude. She made me feel like I was lying or being deceptive. I have an appt with Desi in a few weeks that I'm contemplating canceling due to this experience. Very unhappy with Studio7. And I've been here with no problems for a few various services.

I've been going to Studio7 since its opened and I just love the atmosphere and hair stylists so much! They are all extremely friendly and attentive to your needs. I have honestly never been disappointed with how my hair has turned out! I believe they strive to be the best hair stylists they can because I always see them working on their continuing education to stay the most up to date with styles and what their clients want and need.
I've seen so many amazing transformations that just blow me away. I definitely recommend checking them out if you are looking for a great Salon in Ames. Also don't forget to check out there tons of other available services!

I visited the spa at Studio 7 to get a bikini wax. I have had tons of them in the past, I have never had one take longer than 20 minutes, maybe 30 at the MOST. It took an HOUR at Studio 7. Waxing is already an unpleasant experience, why would anyone want to prolong it? I will not be returning, there are many other places in Ames with comparable prices and much more professional service.
My friends have had their hair done there, and were mostly pleased with the results. So maybe their salon is better than their spa, but I'm not taking my chances after that experience.

I started going here after getting my hair cut at Great Clips for years. The customer service here is top notch. As a male hair cutting can be fairly easy but every time I have been in here the stylist have asked what I was looking for and stop periodically to ask if that is looking okay. That way it is not too late to say that is not what I wanted. I trust them because they are always updated with the latest trend and style. They are honest and friendly and I highly recommend them.

So I'm a bit on the fence with this place. Sometimes I leave thinking they did an amazing job, and sometimes - not so much. It usually tends to depend (as almost any place does) on the customer service. Sometimes people are really nice, and sometimes they can be downright bitchy. I didn't like that the last time Brianna cut my hair she rushed through the process because she had another person waiting - you probably should not schedule your appointments so close back to back that you only plan on giving an individual 15 minutes of your time.
This is not McDonalds, or Super Cuts, if I pay 80+ after products, etc, I expect someone to take their time with me. I didn't like the feeling of being rushed, it felt like "ok done, next, and next". Made the experience feel a bit cheap. But then I've had other stylists that have done an amazing job, so again, I guess it really depends, which is probably why the reason I sometimes choose to go here, and then go somewhere else, and then back.
Which sucks, because the place is actually really pretty, and I wish I could just trust my hair with one person. Will re-visit this the next time I go to get my hair done which is actually coming up soon.
