After months and still awaiting a reply from the salon I've decided to give an honest review in the hopes someone else can avoid what I went through. Just before Christmas I made an appointment for full foil highlights and a trim, I explained I was changing stylists for the first time in years and I wanted to make sure I didn't leave streaky but rather just refreshing my blonde.

The stylist Ben, seemed very green to color once he started. I offered to contact my previous stylist for color information and he said he didn't need that. But 3 hours into this appointment he came to ask me my opinion on the toner to use, that's when I knew I was in trouble. Almost four hours and nearly $200 later it was late in the evening and I knew the color was not ideal, but I couldn't see how bad it was.

Once I got home and looked underneath my hair, instead of a cool blonde I had more of a 10/14k look. Also troubling was despite paying for full foil highlights I was told I only need two highlights in the back, again I expressed what has been done with my hair in the past, but also wanted to trust this stylist and I shouldn't have. Ladies always trust your gut, the truth was the highlights were done poorly, bleed marks from bleach at the highlight line, uneven and uncolored areas, even marks from where the foils had been folded. Ben put me under heat to process, I explained I had never needed before that my hair lifts easily so that resulted in a sore tight scalp for the next few days.

I was in pain, devastated by the results and knew I needed to have the salon fix this. I felt like any reputable salon would have worked with a client in this situation and so I reached out. I reached out right away, that night I responded to a text asking for a review by the salon. I tried to be positive about the cut itself, and not be rude but be honest about how bad this highlights job really was.

No response. I emailed the next day, and two more emails the following week. 3x in all, with photos and explained the situation. I asked for a manager or owner to please reach out. I called 2x the following week, and called again the week after that. I was told the owner had been sick and hadn't seen my emails. I still have never received a call back, or offer to make this right by the salon.

I hope anyone checking the reviews will see this and at the very least avoid this happening to them. I think it's a sad testament to the salon that they couldn't be bothered to reply or correct this, please avoid The Studio and find a qualified stylist for your color!

Awful color experience! Why does everyone have to have orange hair? The water at the sink is freezing cold with the stylists apologizing over and over for it! I was shivering by the end of the shampoo. The studio itself is so dark that I didn't notice how fire orange my hair was until I went outside to the daylight! Awful experience. I really wanted to like it here. So disappointed.

Had a major hair emergency and the studio got me in with one of the best, Reagan and her assistant really did make it happen in just an hour and half they were able to make magic happen. I would definitely recommend this awesome place everyone was so helpful and caring best of all attentive with their work which if everyone knows it's hard to find. Thank you again for such an awesome work. I love my red hair!

The Studio was friendly and attractive. My stylist, McKenna, was wonderful at pinpointing what color and cut I preferred. My hair was in desperate need of attention due to missing my last two appointments. She was knowledgeable and encouraging, putting me at ease. I walked out with a great haircut and color. Definitely will return!

I grew up in Harrisonburg and this place is unfortunately not a studio I can recommend. I recently asked for a trim on my bob from Morgan who was immediately intimidated by my biracial curly hair. She commented correctly that my hair was "straighter when I came in than when I left." My hair is not Mount Everest. Any competent stylist should be equipped to blow dry curly hair.

In fact, there are also white women who have very curly hair on the dyer side. This shouldn't be an issue in 2022. I'm completely over walking into a salon feeling like a freak because of my skin tone. Don't come here if you are biracial.

I got my hair done at another salon to get the red tones from a previous hair color taken out to get closer to my natural brunette color. I walked out with streaky orangey blonde hair. Janie did an AMAZING job fixing my hair and gave me the exact color I wanted. I don't think I've ever been totally happy with a hair color, but I have absolutely no complaints and love my hair now. Janie is so sweet and very easy to talk to, I highly recommend going to her!

Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality My daughter loves her new look! Savannah was very knowledgeable about what style would be best for her as well as about the products she was using. Her brows turned out great too! We are from out of state but hope to have her care for her hair needs again when she is back in town. She was very friendly and made a positive experience.
