I received waxing here and found it to be a nice, clean business located in downtown Pullman. Some things to note: - They only take cash or local checks. - During Covid, you need to enter with a mask and make appointments over the phone. Hope this helps someone.

I go for the massage. Annie is a God send. Would recommend to anyone that needs a massage. She is very knowledgeable and listens to me when I tell her what hurts. 10/10 hands down she is fantastic.

So its taken me a while to write a review of this place as the experience was sooo traumatic. I don't even know which hair stylist it was but the fact that this women was allowed to work here says way too much about this salon that I don't even care. I had a wonderful cut that I loved but after a full year of personal professional and academic craziness I hadn't attended to my hair in at least a year.

At this point my hair was down to my lower back layered with a perimeter that was in a "V" and of course blended layers throughout. All I wanted was a shorter version of that for the summer so that it could grow out by fall. It was awful I don't even know how to describe it. The V started at the base of my neck and was so short that the hair stylist who first fixed it referred to it as a start of an undercut.

The sides were kept long and only layered after my insistence and instructing her where to cut. And then upon seeing how she was cutting these layers at a complete 90degrees to my face I had to tell her to cut more angled and to blend it. I think at 5 years old I've given my barbie better hair cuts and I seriously wanted to check that she had received her license.

I was so upset and as I tired to explain my hair just kept getting shorter and shorter. As I was in full panic mode and realized this wasn't getting any better I lied and said it was great. So she started blow drying my hair. And she blow dried it in a way that brought out the most fly-a-ways ever, both before and after. These fly-a-ways were exactly the things of childhood 90s/80s traumas that now require stylist to spend an inordinate amount of time convincing women of why layers are actually (or rather can be) cute and chic.

I thought this was a mistake and carefully watched her to see what not to do but then she would put the blow dryer down run her hand up the sides to make my fly-aways curl up and out?!?!?!?! Then hair spray the up curls into place. She then started this swoosh action at the bottom that made it look feathered like two bird wings on the bottom coming towards my face.

It was horrifying like who does that when not styling for character on the set of the golden girls! All in all she left me with basically an undercut in back, two long non-layered pillars behind my ears, thick crazy layered chucks like dog ears over my ears and jagged jabs framing my face. When I came home my very macho non-fashion male roommate just looked at it in horror and started laughing.

To the salon's credit while the front desk lady asked everyone leaving if they wanted to make a new appointment she just looked at me and completed the transaction. I think she might have even mentioned free cut corrections but I am so repulsed by the whole place that I never want to go near that place. And of course the transaction being required to be in cash like we were doing a drug deal. All-in-all, It took me three cut corrections and 7 months of tears to finally rid myself of that cut.

The last one being last month. If it wasn't for the horrifying styling I would have excused it as it being an off day but she was obviously proud of not only the cut but enthusiastically just off with what she thought was forward and fashionable. And her being so proud of that cut and just going to town at the bad styling just makes me question the whole staff like how do you see something like that walk out of your salon and still keep someone like that on?

Absolutely the worst brazilian I have ever had in my entire life. I get maintenance usually and it takes 15 minutes. But this was seriously my living hell. 1. Wax was way too hot and burned me. 2. Took a million years. 3. Was so overpriced I could cry. Please just do yourself a favor and go somewhere else, or just shave.honestly razor burn beats abuse. Never going back.

NICOLE IS AMAZING. Now that is out of the way, I want to say that new hair salons and new stylists make me nervous. I've had a lot of "bad experiences" in the past with unfortunate haircuts. I called the day before (Wednesday) for an appointment, because I know that Identity can be pretty booked solid, but I got an appointment the next day (Thursday) with Nicole.

I didn't know what to expect but the salon totally delivered. I explained my anxiousness with haircuts to Nicole and she was all understanding and talked me through one of the best haircuts that I've had in YEARS. Bonus, because my haircut only took up 30 minutes, a few dollars were taken off. Also, this doesn't matter too much, but the place is spotless and gorgeous inside. If you're looking for someone to cut your hair, ask for Nicole, you won't be sorry.

I only ever went to identity to get a Brazilian wax, but every time was a great experience. Stacy was very nice and always was interested in how everything was going. The staff up front were always kind and welcoming also.

Great job with the Brazilian. Quick, painless, and very thorough. Will be back, much better experience than with my previous three wax tech's in Seattle. Much cheaper too. Thanks Staci.

I have had both facials and haircuts from Stacy, and was very pleased. I'm used to facials burning a little, but this was very gentle. It left my skin feeling and looking wonderful. The haircut was even better - I needed a serious update, and Stacy took the time to figure out what I had time for, what looked best on my face shape, and what I liked. She also gave me a mini-lesson in how to use the straightener and dryer to get the right look.

There are so many wonderful things to say about Identity Salon. First, the very professional environment from the way they dress to the way they conduct business. I always feel like I am at a high end salon with class. They talk to you to determine your needs and to make sure they completely understand what you are looking for in the end result. The make recommendations without pressure.

If they are running late, they call to tell you as not to waste your time. The salon is clean and not overly cluttered or loud. They do not make promises they cannot deliver on. Stacy is amazing. I went to her after moving from another state where I had a well established relationship with my stylist. Finding someone new is always stressful. The first person I went to in this area made a true mess of my hair. Stacy assessed and did not stray from the challenge.

She now has me back to my perfect color and has gained my trust. She even moved my car while I was processing so I would not get a parking ticket as I was there past the 2 (or is it 3?) hour parking. I highly recommend and this is my very first review on Yelp. I just felt that strongly about it.

Overpriced and undereducated. If you want to pay too much for a haircut and then pay someone else to fix it, you should definitely go here. Also, the other reviews noting the general unpleasantness of the owner Stacey are true. A friend of mine applied to work there and she gave some homophobic reasons why she could not hire them.

I came to Identity to get my underarms waxed because they were so dark. When I walked in, I was surprised to see how large the salon actually was. Since it was my first time there, I had to fill out some paperwork. The receptionist who was at the desk was very friendly and once I was done, pointed Stacy out to me. Stacy is amazing. She is personable and made me feel right at home.

I also like the fact that she keeps the conversation going because I was so nervous about the wax, I stopped talking. The wax did not take very long, nor was it as painful as I thought it would be. Stacy is very good at what she does and takes pride in her work. I was so pleased that I made an appointment for about 5 weeks from that date. Loving everything about Identity Salon!

They only accept cash or checks, which in all honesty is weird and frustrating. I'm not fond of carrying around a large sum of cash in my wallet. Service-wise, I had a massage and it was pretty average. The massage therapist was a nice lady, but she continually tried to have a conversation with me during my 90 minute massage. What? That's not very relaxing. Also considered getting my nails done, before I looked at the price list. I think I'll try somewhere else.

Definitely too pricey for the service given. The hairdresser, Stacy, cut off way more of my hair then I had asked which led to a frustrating experience. The store also only took cash which was rather inconvenient. I haven't tried their spa features so I can't comment on that but only get your hair cut here if you're looking to burn money. Go to hair by James instead

I just got my first hair cut at Identity. It consisted of cutting four or five inches off, trimming up my bangs, a little bit of thinning, and then finishing up with a blow dry and straightening. I saw Robin who was nice and gave me tips as she went along to maintain my hair. The rates are pretty standard. If you're going to get a wax though I would hands-down recommend Stacy.

This was probably the least painful brazilian I have experienced and it was pretty quick. I hadn't had one for over 6 months so the roots were pretty thick and it was still less painful. For the wax you're in a private room with a pretty nice atmosphere. Stacy is easy to talk to and makes it go fast. Definitely recommend it.

I found this place to be incredibly uncomfortable. I do not feel good supporting a place that speaks to their employees the way they do, and charges too much for the level of services they provide (you can find better in town). The whole experience felt forced and fake the whole time. Not a fan.

This place is great, I LOVE the atmosphere and it's in a very convenient location. I called not expecting to get in right away and was able to get in the same day. (To be honest the reason I chose here over Richard's is because Richard's is in a gross frat/sorority neighborhood and I don't really like that, this is right next door to Taco del Mar) I was wanting to bring my (unnatural) jet-black hair a couple shades lighter and instead of telling me yes (or no) over the phone they asked me to come in for a free consultation and to do a strand test.

I appreciate that a lot because it shows they want to make sure the hair will turn out before they process your entire head. I saw Robin, and she was great. Very friendly, sociable, and easy to get along with. My hair turned out great as well. You can tell they really know what they're doing there! The price for what I got done was reasonable as well - I will be returning!

I hate this place. I'm surprised it got so many good reviews. I had highlights done, and they charged me $350 (ive had my hair highlighted a million times and i know that was WAY over priced). Then the manager was rude and tried to tell me that's what it costs for shoulder length hair. I so do not think so! But when I got home somehow she had my number and called to apologize for the way I was treated. So I suppose that was big of her. Never went back.

You would think that getting a Brazilian wax would be awkward in a small town like Pullman, but I assure you Identity knows the way. I only discovered it late in my last year at school, and now I'm stuck trying to find a new salon in my hometown that even comes close to Identity. Their attention to detail, alongside their relaxed attitude makes this the best place in town for waxing. I will also throw out that they are quite LGBT friendly and their prices are reasonable for the quality service provided.

I love walking in here. It's like a piece of the city in a small college town. The staff are friendly and will happily talk your ear off while you wait for your appointment. I have very curly hair and have had more than my share of bad haircuts over the course of my 25 years; none of them have come from Identity. Robin did a wonderful job converting my shoulder-length rats nest to a chic chin-length bob. Michelle did a great job cutting it back (after I procrastinated on getting it maintained LOL) and even gave me some tips on using other kinds of products besides my standard leave-in and gel routine.

I have yet to try any of the other spa treatments offered here (including waxing, facials, massage, and tanning) but I can't but expect them to be of the same quality I have seen thus far.

Great spot. I just moved from much bigger cities to Pullman, and I was happy to find Identity! I have to be honest, I was so worried about getting my hair cut here that I prolonged it for as long as possible. However, I was pleasantly surprised the moment I walked into the salon. It is minimalist and modern, which feels very warm to walk into now that it's crisp outside. I have a short style that many people have butchered, but not here. Michelle understood what I wanted and made it happen! Highly recommended!
