Tropical Tan offers UV FREE Versa Spa Pro Skin Care System and UV FREE Mystic Tan HD. Both the Versa Spa Pro and Mystic Tan HD are booths that deliver immediate color that lasts up to 7 days. Tropical Tan recommends that you shave, shower, and exfoliate before Spray Tanning. Please remove all makeup and lotion. You should allow 8-12 hours before showering or sweating for the bronzer to fully develop.

The people working here are friendly and knowledgeable. I had not used a taming bed before. They helped me select a bed and amount of time. My only suggestions would be, they did not give complete instructions for how to use the bed. I told them I had not tanned before. I would have liked the "for dummys" level of instructions. Lastly the timer is on the wall, as a person with glasses I can't read it from the bed.
They said I needed to flip half way through. I would have preferred them to set the timer to half the time and I could have hit the call button once I was half done and they would reset if for the remainder. That is the only suggestions I had. Overall a good experience and I will return.

They always are so nice and helpful! I really had no idea what I was doing (I have never tanned before in my life) indoor. and out. Lol they recommended products and help me set up my account and direct me towards what would be good for me. Including tanning lotion and everything. 10/10 would and do recommend them!

Summary: I spent $120 and received one nice tan. Unfortunately it was not when I needed it. Long review: Beyond frustrated. A month ago, I purchased a package of spray tans so that I could try out the options before my upcoming beach vacation. I flew out yesterday devoid of any tan whatsoever. First let me review the specific tan options. Versa* - After watching several videos I decided to try the Versa first.
I am very fair skinned so the technician recommended the level 2 tan. She walked me through the process and was very nice. I did not shower until the following morning as recommended, but did not really see any results. My family kept laughing about my "tan." Mystic - Next, I did the Mystic. I believe I did the level 2 with an accelerator. I called to confirm, but apparently they do not keep track of what they use.
This actually worked for me and the process is a little easier. The bottom of my feet looked really bad and I had a little on my wrist, but I just bought some tan remover from Ulta and worked to remove it. The tan was nice and seemed to fade evenly. Obviously, the Mystic is my fave. The reason that I have given a one star review is that I had purchased the package to try the tans for my vacation.
I called last week to schedule a Mystic appointment for Tuesday evening, as I would be flying out the next day. They said their machine was broken, but they were waiting on a part and thought it should be fixed in time. They suggested I call back and check on the status of the machine. I kept calling back and being reassured that the machine should be fixed.
The machine was not fixed in time. I understand these things happen, but I still needed a tan before the beach. I asked for a refund for the unused portion of my package so that I could go elsewhere to get a tan before my trip. The staff said they would contact the owner regarding the situation. The owner refused to give any sort of refund citing it was not their policy.
I was not asking for them to change their policy. The machine was broken and I needed to be able to go elsewhere. I am now in Houston and leave for Cancun this evening. I must now try to get a spray tan last minute and dish out more money for a service that I have already paid for elsewhere. *I have since talked with other tan technicians and they have never heard of the Versa not giving a tan. They believe perhaps that machine was not working properly at the time.

(also known as Hardcastle) This place is great. 2nd time tanning here and I've never spray tanned so I had no idea what I was doing. They were super helpful and got us in even when we was running a tad late tonight. I did the versa last time and tonight the mystic. I like both. Maybe I'll go a tad darker next time.

Great business! I've been going here for 3 years. Fast & convenient services. I've never made an appointment; always have taken advantage of the walk-in policy and I've never had to wait longer than 5 minutes! Friendly, attractive and knowledgeable staff. The whole facility smells nice and it's very clean. Great lighting, tasteful decor, comfortable furniture, lots of mirrors, clothing hooks, tables, chairs every tanning room. (Never have to leave your clothes and/or belongings on the floor!) : Advertisement signs, facts, tips, and detailed explanation signage throughout facility. Monthly specials on packages, lotions, treatments, etc.
Every room is always stocked and ready with towels, goggles, baby wipes, barrier cream, hair nets, foot covers, etc. Lots of extras available: boutique style clothing, display cases filled with goodies, Senegence products, sunglasses, healthy nutritional supplements, etc. Highly recommend and will continue to be a repeat customer here.

Excellent place of business with more to offer than just tanning. I've been going to Tropical Tan of Joplin, MO for about 8 months now. The staff is friendly, helpful and were quick to learn my preferences in tanning and the aqua massages. There are many different packages available to choose from so you're sure to find what will suit you best at what I consider a reasonable price. Plus, you can sign up to earn reward points for each visit which can be redeemed for services or towards products.

Just want to let everyone know this is the best place ever to get a tan! All the girls are so nice, & can answer any question! They always have time, & a smile! Also they work with getting you in, my schedule is so wild but they have always got me right in, also the beds are the best & so many to chose from, & very very clean! Best place ever!

This place is horrible. They embarrassed me saying I didn't pay my dues and said I owe them two months along with late fees. But found out they took my credit card numbers wrong! Haha and said we won't charge you late fees. I miss a bunch of good beds and oh I got reminded they have attorneys. Turns out I got told I should make an appointment, when I got there the better beds didn't have appointments. Great service Psh

Very nice. Went in to tan to get a jump start on my tropical vacation, as a guy it I have felt out of place at tanning salons in the past, no problems here. Friendly and good price and no high pressure sales. Even the "cheap-O" beds are nice and well maintained. I would love to try the awesome looking new ones!
