Update: I followed up with the stylist shortly after my first appointment because my hair was cut unevenly. Not a big deal, it happens with curly hair. When I went, the stylist acknowledged the eneven parts, and did a dry cut, just shaping one side to match the other. The whole thing took less than 10 minutes and we spent most of that time discussing how I wanted to start coloring my hair.

When the appointment was over, she said her goodbyes and walked me up front. The receptionist stated that my total was $40. I asked if she'd see if the stylist would reconsider the price because it was a very short appointment and she was correcting her mistake. When the receptionist returned, she said the price was firm because of the "circumference of my head".

Mind you she only touched one side of my hair, didn't style it or add any product. I paid the $40, and cancelled my follow up appointment. I didn't feel like I was treated fairly. While no one should work for free, in the service industry sometimes you go the extra step to correct something the customer wasnt happy with (in this case, it was obvious my hair was uneven).

Especially if that client wanted regular service, including hair color, and regularly purchases products. What a missed opportunity. Bad form. Below is the original review: I enjoyed my first visit with Brittany today. Professional and creative, she took time to understand my hair and curl pattern. As every Curly Girl knows, not everyone can cut curly hair. I was so satisfied, I made a follow-up appointment before leaving the salon! Great products for sale too.

My first experience was bad because the color I wanted was not what I got. Then I went back and it was done wrong again by Ashley. Then I was told I could not return back and I feel very disrespected.!

Not really what I wanted but it's ok. Under the duress of a skin condition Hairdresser was terrific

Becca is amazing! She listens to what you want and she makes you feel beautiful through the aging process.

Everybody went out of their way to make sure I was welcomed and made sure my stylist had everything she needed, Brittany is the best and I will nit go anywhere eles. I haven't had my hair professionally done in years, out of lack of trust. This salon is incredible! Ashley is amazing and my hair is the healthiest it's been since my 30's! I LOVE Orchid salon. I went to get a balayage after not having my hair cut or colored for nearly 2 years (mom life, haha). Brittany Morgan did an AMAZING job. I felt beautiful, my hair looked so good and very natural, and I felt like my old self again after leaving. I highly recommend this salon and especially Brittany. I feel transformed! Brittany did an amazing job of taking 20 years of burgundy red box dye away and bringing me almost back to my natural color without leaving any orange like I was expecting. And my hair is so soft and shiny. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a change!

Ashley! How can I begin to say thank you for your talent? You transformed my nearly year old Covid hair into a work of art! I chose Orchid because you are an Aveda Salon. I trust Aveda and know it takes a top notch salon to be a purveyor of their products. This salon will not disappoint. I was a walk-in that was welcomed and treated with respect. And the rest, as they say.is history.

Went to Orchid Salon bc my sister wouldn't let me cut my own hair. Becca did a wonderful job. I gave her creative freedom and she did not disappoint. She brought me from a long bob down to a nice pixie with a shaved back. The environment was very welcoming and everyone encouraged my impulsiveness, which was wicked refreshing. I plan on returning very soon for a new twist on my pixie and look forward to the support, encouragement and tips from everyone there!

Went here a few months ago looking for a haircut with long layers and also a balayage. This was the first time I have left a hair salon in tears. My layers were not blended at all, but the color was even worse. I was left with blunt lines of blonde instead of a low maintenance look. I called the owner and she basically told me it was my fault because I have thick hair and it's hard to work with. Would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. Even after she "fixed" it a second time I was still so unhappy with it.

I recently went to Becca for highlights and a cut and style. She is an artist! I have also gone to Becca for Manicures and Pedicures at the Salon also and those are top notch! She masterfully blended and matched the current color of my golden blonde highlights and updated my style. The salon uses organic product that is touted to be gentle on your hair.

I am so pleased with the way that my hair came out. It looks very natural and pretty and is well conditioned even after color application. Having recently moved to the area, this was my first color and cut after 10+ years with the same stylist from my old hometown. I am a big fan of Becca and Orchid Salon!

I love Orchid Salon, my stylist Morgan and the Aveda product line. When you walk into the salon you are greeted by a friendly and kind receptionist that offers you a drink and a smock. My stylIst, Morgan, is energetic and always happy to see me. She is not only knowledgeable and gifted in her field but excited about her job. I love the way she approaches my hair cut, always discussing my style and color.

As I wait for my color to set, I enjoy a complimentary hand massage and when Morgan washes my hair I enjoy a scalp massage. Every six months I get a Keratin treatment and I am extremely pleased with the results. Orchid Salon is wonderful. I am so happy I found it.

Wow! I have been living in Beaufort for over 5 years and at last I have found a wonderful hairdresser. My color was applied professionally, with care and a great deal of attention to detail and final look and feel. And, this is about 2 years into a process of growing out chocolate brown and blending whites and gray for a more natural look. Not all salons will work with and encourage this transition, so I am even more thrilled! And don't get me started on the fabulous blow out : One happy customer here! Great salon!

I walked into Orchid Salon for the first time today, and I'm kicking myself for not coming in sooner! The staff is absolutely amazing, and Becca was one of the best stylists I have ever been to! I am extremely picky about my hair, and Becca made me feel at ease and did such an amazing job. I HIGHLY recommend this salon!

Always had a good experience but was told last cut they would only be open one Saturday a month and not open late enough during the week to accommodate working people. Very frustrating. Will not return.

I've been coming to Orchid Salon since moving to Beaufort 6 months ago. From the lovely friendly receptionists to my stylist Megan -always a delightful experience. No one pushes products, Megan always listens to my requests( and politely explains if she has another idea)- have never walked out feeling unhappy with cut, color or personnel. I don't understand the negative reviews, certainly hasn't been my experience.

I love love love this Salon!.I love Aveda products and hair coloring which is ultimately why I chose the salon but once I started working with Paige a stylist here.a sweetheart.:).and getting regular hair color service. I found throughout observation and in addition to having to use other stylist sometimes here.that everyone on the staff here is extremely knowledgeable about hair and they know how to keep your hair healthy and what coloring would work with you.etc. etc. they even helped my husband find a solution with his hair style and set him up with hair products to thicken his hair!

And my daughter has seen Paige to get her hair cut and growing in a even order, now.(thanks to a horrible experience with a stylist at a less than desirable previous salon I took her to). so long to the short I would and I do refer anyone I know or someone who ask me where I get my hair done and is looking for a friendly, courteous, knowledgeable with hair and how to keep it healthy and help with finding the style/color etc that's right for each client.and just an over all enjoyable salon experience I would not recommend anywhere else besides Orchid Salon!.I come all the way from Hilton Head for them. Everyone is so amazing here!.Great experience from start to finish!.Love this place, give them a try you will not regret it!

I have been a regular here for the past year. I kept coming back, even when the stylist would consistently look at herself in the mirror when talking to me, because the hair cut turned out the way I like it. That changed when she insisted on using a procedure that I told her does not work with my hair. She pushed the issue and I trusted her. Bad idea.

My haircuts stinks now. On top ofthat, I tried talking to the stylist about my dissatisfaction and she got defensive, stating that she is an advanced hair cutter and inferring that my dissatisfaction is a result of my ignorance about hair. I was surprised at how willing she was to talk down to her customers, so she doesn't have deal with this one any more.
