I have gotten three haircuts here in the course of two years, all of which ended up looking terrible. Most recently, I wanted curtain bangs and shoulder length hair, but it ended up looking like a disaster from the 70s. I had to go somewhere else to fix it and now I have lost all of my hair and have a pixie cut. I am very disappointed and upset.

The staff went above and beyond to ensure my daughter had a great experience on her 13th birthday. Sherri, Emily and Skylar all were so sweet, accommodating and have earned my repeat business, as it went so well my daughter now can't wait to return. I would and will highly recommend Jiva to anyone. Services: Hairstyling, Skin treatments

I love Aveda. It's the only place I go. Jiva has it all. The spa is quiet and warm. The salon is bright and clean. The team here are also so nice and accommodating. I started seeing Courtney last year and won't be going to anyone else. She took the time to listen to what I wanted and followed through.

Giving this a 1, just because the seating area for the message area was relaxing. However, I came early and expected to wait for my time being early. Checked in, asked to be shown where to go, as I hadn't been there in some time. Pleasant gal showed me and said that she would the the individual know. Appointment was at 1615, I sat in the waiting area for 45 min. Did not see anyone.
I finally, got up and told the front desk, I have to leave, maybe reschedule. I got asked "did you check in?" A simple "oh, I guess I'm sorry." Definitely, disappointed as I was looking forward to this. I know Jiva is a busy entity and will not lose any business, by just me.

I booked Jiva for my wedding day needs for 9 people. The girls had us all done and out of there in 2 hours and 45 minutes! We all got hair and makeup done! Sarah did such an amazing job making my hair visions come true. Emily hands down did the best makeup I've ever had done. All of the staff was just truly amazing. If you're looking for a one stop shop for your wedding day I'd highly recommend! Oh and they also had mimosas for us! Thank you!

The quiet darkened room with the fireplace and candles is the best! Time to decompress before getting my massage. And time to relax while I get ready to go back into the real world. I always feel wonderful after getting my massage at Jiva. I have had several different therapists and each is unique with their technique but they are all great. There was a mix-up with an on-line appointment I made and the manager was very caring and made sure I was seen the next day and handled a credit card issue quickly. I received two phone calls at home to assure me the credit card was being taken care of.

Worst customer service experience of my life. There are probably some friendly, communicative, and honest people who work at this salon but I didn't personally work with one of them. I've taken my business to another Aveda salon in the area and am very happy. Not only am I now being treated as a valued customer, I'm even being charged less for the exact same Aveda services by an advanced stylist.

Tara is BY FAR their best stylist. After going to her, the other stylists didn't really seem to satisfy. I went recently for a blowout and my stylist barely knew what that was. In addition to that, my appointment started late, and she seemed unable to curl my hair - even after using multiple tools. Before coming, I had been told a time frame, and when I got to the salon, the staff treated me rudely for expecting my hair to be done within that time. I left with basically the same hairstyle as I had come in with and STILL had to pay full price. Disaster.

I am in town for a month and just needed a quick eyebrow wax. Turned out Alli had a cancellation so I went ahead and had a partial haircolor, much needed by the way. I had a wonderful experience! Everyone was friendly as could be and the Alli was terrific! My highlight was one of the best (blonde) and eyebrows done very nicely too. The extra services made my experience very enjoyable!
A neck/shoulder massage, the ice neck pack in the Spa (fireplace, candles, comfy chairs), the hand massage, the scalp massage. I couldn't have asked for a more relaxing impromptu salon visit! I thought the cost was quite reasonable (under $100) for all. I'm here for work so if I come back, I will definitely book another appointment!

I went to Jiva today for my haircut and I've never had a better experience at a salon. When you walk in the door, you are pleasantly greeted by the receptionist. Immediately she asked if I wanted something to drink. I had Tara as my hairstylist today and she was AMAZING and such a friendly person. I love the quality of their service. Definitely would recommend anyone and everyone to go to Jiva!

I recently had a haircut with Sara. I have naturally curly hair and was looking for a stylist with experience and an understanding of how curly hair works and how best to cut it. Sara & Jiva were recommended to me by a friend who also has naturally curly hair. Sara was AMAZING! She is only the 3rd stylist I've found who 'gets it' when it comes to cutting curly hair.
The salon atmosphere is nice, I was greeted right away and offered a beverage. I also really enjoyed the shoulder & scalp massage that accompanied my haircut & style. I'll definitely be back & have already recommended Sara to others I know in the area with curly hair.

Its been hard finding a good place in town to get hair done. This salon is full service: hair, style, make up, brows, pedicure/manicure, massage, etc. I've done hair and massage. Both were stellar. The hair stylist cut my hair perfectly and took her time. The masseuse knew chakras and had the perfect amount of pressure and wasn't too chatty (my preference, she seemed really nice otherwise).
You can book online, for now they have a $20 off first time service and are really nice with it. It smells great in there and they staff is all really friendly. While I have straight hair, I did notice they have hair stylists who can style ethnic hair and do it well (a little girl with ethnic hair was having her hair styled and was very delighted about it). A lot of the hair places here hack your hair and do an awful job. Not this place! AND they are open on Saturdays, most salons here aren't.

Went there for a cut and color. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The location is great and makes them well-known. They offer a variety of services, from massages to manicures. It's definitely a one stop shop. However, they can get a little pricey. They also give you free beverages and make you feel as "at home" as possible. I would recommend.

The customer service is by far the worst in the cedar valley. I had a gift certificate that was about to expire. I called to check the balance and was told it had $60.00 on it. So I scheduled my appointment, after the massage I went to pay and they told me my gift certificate had a $0.00 blance. After arguing for 5 minutes they finally told me what they did. 2 years earlier I missed a scheduled massage so they took my gift certificate and paid for the missed appointment from 2 years Pryor. UNHEARD OF!. I don't even recall missing an appointment. Then the manager forced me to pay since my gift certificate was now invalid. NEVER AGAIN

In town from Seattle to attend a wedding and I have been to many a spa in lots of cities. Was nervous about finding a place here. Pleasantly surprised. Was able to score last minute 30 min massage. Short, I know but I will take it. Staff very friendly and offered to call me and extend appt if they received cancellation. Nice. I arrived early. They were welcoming and invited me to relax in spa area (fireplace.
Nice comfy chairs, cucumber water, quiet) until my appt. Very appreciated that. Deep tissue massage ended up being decent. I only wish the therapist didn't talk so much.but it's ok. Got the kinks out of my back so I could dance away at the wedding reception later that evening. I do wish I had time to get my hair done before the wedding starts but I have to get ready.
I did go earlier in the day across the street for a wash and style and it was bad. Ended up washing my hair and styling myself. I will review that place later. I would recommend Jiva to any out of towner. Very nice place.

Came here for a pedicure with mi madre and we had a great time! It was the first time she had ever had a pedicure, and it was a surprise for her birthday. They didn't give away the secret or anything, so bonus love to Jiva for that! You have a choice of wine, water or their amazing ginger root tea and then sit in these lovely massage chairs while the ladies work ever so carefully on your tootsies.
They had all of the newest OPI colors and their special lavender-mint soap (I think that's what it was) made my feet and legs feel so smooth. It really was a a great time. She was also gifted a facial for the d.o.b and said it was amazing. I would recommend this salon to anyone, I've never had a bad hair or spa result.

For a wedding gift -- I purchased a gift card for an hour massage for my husband. While my husband reports that he enjoyed the massage -- I however, did not enjoy their customer service! I went in the middle of a work day. and waited. and waited to be helped. I probably wouldn't have minded if they were busy, or if there were people ahead of me. but there wasn't.
The receptionist went on talking and when she did finish her conversation with another staff member -- then "helped" me. When I was helped -- she was rude! I was asking questions -- and she responded with clipped answers and no elaborations. and her overall demeanor was "I'm busy, What do you want? Hurry it up!" I didn't get it -- here I was ready to spend over $100 (massage and tip). and I was treated like they didn't even want to sell me a service.
I regret that I ended up getting the massage there -- I would have much rather given my money to a salon and spa that treats people decently; and appreciates their patronage. Beautiful salon -- but it was completely tainted by the ugly service. I will not go there again.

Unless you have blond, limp hair, DO NOT go to this place. I tried it twice and both times it was a disaster. I am from South America and have naturally thick and curly hair. The first time I tried Jiva, the woman who did my hair (barely out of beauty school) tried to blow-dry it straight with a flat brush. Anyone that knows anything about straightening curly hair knows that a flat brush creates frizz, and I ended up looking like a poodle.
The second time it took another stylist 3 hours to get my hair semi-straight, mumbling that she had no experience with "ethnic hair" (what is "ethnic" about plain, curly hair? I have no idea; apparently anyone with dark and curly hair qualifies as "ethnic" in Jiva).the best came when they tried to charge me as if I had had an updo, "because of the time it took to do my hair". Ha!
I told them that I was not going to pay more because they did not know how to do their job, so I paid what I had been quoted initially and left. Two months ago my sister went in for color, and the stylist did not listen to her, she ended up looking like a poodle too, but a blond poodle (she asked for a reddish tone, but I guess that the stylist did not agree with her).
Someone gave me a gift card for Jiva this year, so I had a facial that was mediocre at best; I could have had it at home with an exfoliator from Wallgreenss, nothing like D'vine for facials (the only real spa in town).

Coming from California, and of all places Ojai which boasts a bevy of spa places in a small radius, I'm pretty picky when it comes to spa atmosphere. Overall, this salon/spa is clean and they have a nice staff. The treatment room that I end up in when I go seems a bit cramped, but they make due with the space they have available. The salon area always looks really busy on the weekends to boot, hence they must be doing something good.
