I LOVE the vapor caves and mineral waters at Yampah! I've been twice now, on my way back into civilization after camping and hiking in the desert, and it's an awesome way to dust off and soak your bones and sore muscles. The caves are real underground caves, piped through with hot steam from the spring, which I want to say comes out of the ground at 180 degrees, but don't quote me on that.

They infuse eucalyptus oil which really opens and cleanses the sinuses. There's a cold shower in there and basins you can fill with cold water to soak your feet in so you don't get overheated and can stay there up to two hours. The hot and cold is therapeutic too. Definitely treat yourself to a private soak in the waters as well. The composition of minerals is exceptional, and you can adjust the temperature to your liking by adding more hot or hold water.

I am planning to try one of the spa services next time I go, likely the detox wrap, but honestly, the waters and steam are plenty detoxing and a super value. I always leave there feeling top of my game and totally rejuvenated. Since Covid they do not accept walk-ins, so be sure to call ahead, even if you're in the area; they might just have a spot for you.

The tub attendants are really nice - I mean everyone is - but I have struggled to get a clear answer when inquiring about the ingredients used in the spa services from the front desk staff. I have very sensitive skin and won't be able to do any facials or wraps without reassurance as to what is being used. I hope they train their front desk staff better in advance of my next visit.

A final note: Yampah does not require visitors to shower before entering the caves and the last time I was there, a few people came down who reeked of cologne or perfume, and I had to leave early to avoid becoming sick, as chemical fragrances impact my respiratory system. I certainly did not expect to have to deal with that in such a natural and healing environment. I left feedback and with luck they will address this problem for the future.

I could not sing the praises of this spa any louder! I have visited twice, and each time was just magical. Last time I spent an hour in the vapor caves followed by the best massage I've ever received (I literally cried a little from the relief I felt). There's something deeply spiritual about the vapor caves, I highly suggest visiting them. You will feel restored and rejuvenated. Don't go to Glenwood without stopping at the vapor caves.

Highly recommend the caves. Experience like nothing else. Detoxing, hot, sweaty, you are near naked (bathing suit only) in the dark, subjected to vapor of the water that came from the middle of the Earth! What not to like? Seriously awesome time. Your visit will need an appointment, bring swimsuits, extra towel if you wish. Establishment will provide white towel, small white rug for in the cave, cold water, solarium, and outdoor seating area if you wish, also showers, hot tea and impressive list of spa services.

I had a chocolate wrap last weekend and loved the time. Soooo relaxing. Easy walk from downtown, parking can be limited. Overall great value for the price. Will be back soon. Keep in mind only 14 and older can go.

I was amazed to learn that this place was home to the only natural Vapor caves in the entire USA. It was the best natural sauna I've ever sat in in my life and very therapeutic and relaxing. This place offers a variety of services other than just the caves. They do all sorts of stuff so check out their website to see what all they have. I ended up doing the caves and taking a 45-minute mineral bath which was amazing. I will definitely be back and I highly recommend this place!

I've been coming here for years and always leave relaxed. After my most recent visit I have a suggestion. I did a private bath before some spa services and it was very difficult to relax because it was far from quiet. The bath next to me had a couple I think who were not ready to go when they needed to. So there was a lot of conversation between them and an employee.

Then they finally got out and there was a lot more conversation and no attempt to talk in lowered voices. Then I got to hear the bath being thoroughly cleaned which I appreciate however there was pretty much noise my entire 30 minutes. Perhaps try to schedule times to remedy this. My other services were wonderful.

We really enjoyed the caves! I was a little nervous at first. But it ended up being very relaxing. They have a faucet with cool water inside the cave. There are buckets you can fill and use a wash cloth to cool off. It was very helpful to me to be able to put the cool washcloth in my face to breathe a little better. You go up every 10 to 15 minutes to wait in a relaxing cool off room and then go back down when ready it was really great!

My only problem was I couldn't wear my glasses. so it was very hard to see in there for me with it being dark. There is a long steep set of stairs to get in each time you go back down. Something to keep in mind, it was hard for me to go down the stairs with out my glasses. But we would Definitely recommend visiting!

This is a must stop. Right next to Glenwood Springs Pools, and great prices. The services they provide are very enjoyable, plus there's a room to sit and be still with your experience. The vapor caves are worth the drive alone, but it's always nice to spoil yourself with a spa service. Just make sure you book an appointment!

The Yampah Salon and Spa experience was incredible! The facilities are very nice and spacious for group parties or girls'/guys' treat yo'self days. I went with my fiancee; it was nice and romantic. The vapor caves were very hot, we could only really stay 15 minutes at a time and then go relax in the Solarium Room which had lemon water and chairs we could comfortably sit or lay on.

We were in/out of the vapor caves within the 1.5 hours they gave us. There are also changing rooms with lockers that cost 25 to use each time you lock it and bathrooms available to use. We then had a mineral bath in a separate area and room from the vapor caves. They gave us water to drink and cool wash cloths to use if needed, we could fill the bath with cool or hot water as desired.

They provided robes and towels for us throughout our experience. The next thing we did was a body wrap with a chocolate mud mix. That was awesome although I got a little too warm but was able to open up my wrap to cool down. They will put the mud mix on all/most of your body. After our last treatment we showered and went to dinner! We took advantage of the monthly special but I would recommend any treatment/service, they're amazing and we can't wait to go back!
