Store hours online said it closed at 7:30pm, I arrived around 5pm but the doors were locked. All the lights were on inside and the back office door was also wide open so it looked like there should've been someone inside. I ended up walking away but as I did, I turned back and saw someone come up from under the cashier counter as if they had been hiding from me this entire time.
They quickly ran to the back as I went back into my car. I was so confused. Then I saw the same woman come outside and lock up the place and left. It wasn't even like I was there 15 mins before closing. I was there a whole 2 hours before they supposedly closed but this staff member decided to just hide from me until I left so she didn't have to do her actual job.
I knew what I needed too so it's not like I would've spend hours of her time in there shopping if she wanted to leave work early so bad. It's one thing if your short staffed so business hours are shortened but at least update the info online or put a notice on the door. And no matter what, hiding behind a desk from customers so they think the store is closed and so you didn't have to let them is totally unprofessional. I was just shocked I actually witnessed that from a place of business.

I bought a pair of hair shears for 75+ dollars and they were so dull. The package is not sealed in a way that you can't easily remove them. I believe someone used the scissors and switched them when they got full. With the pandemic I wouldn't doubt it. Horrible to buy new scissors that are dull. Also, I needed clips to hold hair when you section them.
Basic things. They had none. They didn't have lots of things. Horrible selection and supply. I found clips at Target. I'm not going back to this beauty supply store. Waste of my time. Nothing in there. Clerk was useless.

Went in a couple of weeks ago for a guard for hair clippers, asked the member of staff for a 1 1/2 guard, the one she gave me was a 1.5mm guard. Absolutely fine, I probably didn't make it clear enough at the time. Mistakes happen. Two weeks later I take the wrong guard back, in the meantime, unfortunately I have either lost/misplaced the receipt or I never got given it in the first place, whichever it was I just wanted to swap it for the correct guard.
I was told in no uncertain terms "we don't do refunds / exchanges without a receipt, that's policy". I did apologise that I no longer had the receipt and tried to politely reason that it would be simple to just swap the guards over, but with the repetition of "its policy" I knew my plea for an ounce of common sense being used was falling on deaf ears.
The guards cost 2.50 or something, i bought a new one so i'm 2.50 out of pocket, which is so little it's actually quite pathetic writing a review about it. Almost as pathetic as repeatedly saying "it's company policy not to exchange without a receipt" over a 2.50 plastic guard that probably cost them about 10p.

I have gone to this store looking for a good deep conditioner for my hair a few times over the last year. I see that the reviews are not the best, however I have never received anything other than friendly service. About 3 months ago I decided to purchase a gel nail kit since we are in the pandemic and it's been quite hard to get in to get my nails done. Today, for the first time, I just took the kit out with the intention of using it for the first time, but, unfortunately I found out that the glue is rock hard and unable to be used.
I actually broke the tip completely off when trying to Simply squeeze the nail glue out before realizing that it's dried up and useless. I'm definitely going to call the store and explain what happened and see if there's any way that I can bring the kit back and show them how my tube of glue came to hopefully be able to exchange the nail kit without the receipt since again I know I've lost the receipt it's been a few months. So hopefully they will understand when I show them the glue and they'll allow me to just make the exchange if they do then I will update this to a five-star review.

I went to this store to purchase a hair dryer with a comb attachment because mine died five months into the COVID-19 shut down. I went to Sally Beauty to because it's close to where I live and I thought that Sally Beauty had reasonable prices. I was wrong! Since I haven't purchased a hair dryer in many years, I didn't know the average price range.
I bought the hair dryer for $40 and when I got home, I looked online to compare prices and I found the same brand hair dryer with comparable wattage at Target for $20, half the price of what I paid. Needless to say, I returned the hair dryer I purchased at Sally Beauty Supply the same day and I bought the hair dryer at Target. If I need nail polish or other products I usually purchase from Sally Beauty, I'll probably go to a different store and do a price check beforehand.

I called Sally's on Saturday to find out the store hours, I didn't leave a message because I honestly thought no one would call back. To my surprise Natasha called back because she notice there were several missed calls from my number. I asked if she had a specific hair color by Ion and she checked and there were three left. I asked her if she could put it aside and I would be in to pick it up.
She was happy to do so. Once in the store, she was very helpful and patiently answered all my questions regarding other products even though she was the only one working. She was very friendly and sweet! I ended up buying much more than the hair dye! Natasha is an outstanding sales associate and I hope her employer values all her hard work!

I called at 9am, to confirm store was open and patrons allowed to come in to shop. No one answered. Someone from the store called me back (without me leaving a message) at 10am when they opened. WOW! Natasha was the only person working when I got there, and I recognized her voice from the phone. She was super friendly, kind and helpful. As she got busier, phones ringing, patrons in store, trying to keep everyone safe, she kept so calm. I hope that the owners of this store understand what a GEM she is!

I bought a $200 hair product at this store. My hairdresser said it would not work for me. I attempted to return the product the next day. I was told by the clerk that it was "not returnable." Neither the package nor the receipt said the product was not returnable. The clerk, however, insisted that they had a policy on that product that it was not returnable. Asked when that policy went into effect, she said "today." She also pointed out stickers on similar products that said "not returnable" however there was no such sticker on the package I bought.
She gave me a copy of the "policy" but admitted that the policy didn't exist when the product was purchased! When I pointed out that the package had no sticker on it, the clerk said: "your hairdresser must have removed it." I asked for the manager and was given contact information. I called the manager (Natasha) and pointed out that they had no defense since the policy was admittedly not in effect when the item was purchased. Apparently, they had discussed it and she said I should return the product and ask for "Gabby." She also said: "I hope you are in a better mood." I started to respond, but she interrupted and said: "We have witnesses!" Huh? No, I wasn't happy being repeatedly insulted by the clerk, but "witnesses?" Come on.
This was probably the most bizarre experience with a merchant I have ever had. and needless to say will never have again at that store! As a follow-up, I returned the product the next day, and Gabby (who was not involved in the original transaction) was very gracious and completed the transaction without further drama or insult.

Came here to do a simple return today December 12th around 7pm only took have the cashier at that time make up an excuse that I could only do simple store credit and not get my money back. which violates the store policy on the Sallys website. Simply because I didn't want to drive all the way to the location that I bought it from. it was only one day later, the product wasn't even used. Wasn't worth the time to even bother arguing with the lie that "her machine couldn't do returns due to a new system", walked right out to make a call to HQ and to write this review. Will not return here ever again for this horribly atrocious lie she pulled.

I'm honestly really grateful for one specific employee. unfortunately, i forgot to ask his name, but the best description i can give is that they had dyed blue hair and was wearing a cast on the (i want to say. left?) arm. they were really helpful in helping me choose the materials i needed to dye my hair/get rid of my highlights! 10/10 would recommend, and the pricing of items is pretty good too.

The place has the basics. Not too many multicultural hair supplies. Actually extremely limited in that area. When you walk in as a woman of color they immediately assume you're a thief. They offer you assistance but don't really wan to assist you. When you need assistance they hesitate to assist you. They tried to sign me up for a rewards program without my knowledge or consent, just asked for my number.
When I asked why, she didn't tell me. She became rude and hostile. She was a middle aged Hispanic woman. There's also a younger blonde guy who works there who hounds you like you're stealing. Only one girl there was nice, she's in her 20's a little heavy set. I called in and asked for supplies one time and the Middle Ages Hispanic woman told me they didn't have it, went there and found it.
She proclaimed the store didn't carry the item without checking. They seem to only want to cater to older white women. I drive to Oakland once a month to stock up on items now.

Came to this store on a Monday afternoon to find a sign saying the attendant would be back in 45 minutes. Um.this isnt Europe. Stores here stay open. This is the first time I have ever seen anything so unprofessional from a national chain store, let alone in a busy shopping center. A waste of my time and not smart on the company's part. There are, like, three beauty supply stores in this town.

I just came in for my first visit to a Sally Beauty Supply store ever and I came in to get hair extensions for my upcoming wedding I honestly know nothing about hair extensions and the store manager whose name is Gabby could not have been more sweet and more helpful. I walked in feeling very unsure and walked out feeling very confident and happy I would highly recommend anyone I know to go there for beauty help and supplies and I look forward to going back to see Gabby for future purchases.

I've seen the magnetic eyelashes on Facebook and my niece even had some just in the edges of her real lashes. I've been wearing lashes for at least 10+ years and wanted to try something different. I called San Ramon Sally's and they were able to place my favorite style on hold. After picking the lashes up, I couldn't wait until I got home and wrestled with them in the car.
I had to go inside to let the 2 lovely ladies know how happy I was with the lashes and how easy it was to put them on. I have to admit, I cheated just a little bit with some glue on the top lashes because I have short lashes. Either way, I was pleased!

This is the smallest Sally's I've ever been to. I'm used to the store having shelf upon shelf full of black hair fair products, flat irons, hot combs etc. so imagine my surprise when I go into this San Ramon store looking for some braid spray and there is nothing. There's plenty of white hair care products that I'm sure you can also get at target, but for African Americans they have a small section in the back corner and a few rows in the back.
I remember going to Sally's in the 90s to get hair for my braids. There would be two isles full of hair and products for maintaining your locks. At this location there's maybe a few rows in between an isle full of blond hair extensions. I guess it makes sense though. San Ramon isn't ethnically diverse so they're advertising to the people who live their.
A little girl walked in with her mom and was blown away at all the curling rods and hair ribbons she could put in her long red hair. If I had a daughter, I'm sure she'd be disappointed that she can't really use anything in there

Cool. Pretty empty on a Tuesday evening Looked around and I could be here for a few hours even if it was a small store. I just needed some scissors to self maintain my split ends. spent 50$ on a pair and ive been pretty happy with them so far. The sales associate also gave me tips on where to sharpen and maintain them! I also bought glitter for gel nails so I'm excited to try that out soon.
