I have been in the industry for many years, working towards bringing my vision to life. When I decided to open my own salon, I knew that I had to create something different, something that didn't exist on the Main Line. I wanted it to be a place where everyone felt beautiful and luxurious, while still maintaining affordability.
Unlike many other salons, we practice the highest form of team service. This means that the skills of our entire team are available to you. We don't lock you in to any one stylist. As long as there is time on the schedule and the skill is available, we will accommodate your needs without inconvenience or delay.
At Davines, we dare to do what we believe in and, rather than conforming to the mainstream, allow intuition to pave our path. This gives us the freedom to develop concepts and products that are original, authentic, and emotionally connected with people. Our work is a thoughtful balance of substance and style, nature and science, people and spirit.

I loved the entire experience at Salon True. I was greeted by a very friendly receptionist, she was upbeat, helpful and attentive. My stylist Lauren is amazing. She hands down is the best colorist. I used to travel to NYC to have my hair done and was always happy with the result but honestly Lauren is every bit as good if not better. Service: Hair coloring

Salon True first had me with that sharp-looking Alloyius Mcilwaine (https://www.instagram.com/culturesclothing/) above their check-in desk! But even without it was hard not to notice the suave-looking brand new hair salon that was less than a block away from my apartment. As soon as I moved in I knew I was destined to book an appointment and give it a review.
What proved harder was scheduling said appointment before the holidays. But it was a lot easier to before my birthday, and in the end, it lead to me discovering what might very well be my new salon of choice (at least for suburbia). Professionalism and good conversation shone throughout starting with the first phone call that I did to schedule an appointment, And I liked how their pricing system varied between both the services needed and the experience level of their stylists.
Another plus for me was how they had nights with later hours than most salons in the area which was perfect for someone like me who works further away during the day. Not only was Lauren a professional stylist who listened and delivered on my preferences, but she also carried on a great conversation throughout. I definitely enjoyed talking about everything from my artist friends' work being on their wall, to life in the Main Line and then some since they also used to be located in Narberth for a brief while. In the end, I scored the best haircut that I've had in a while, and a good reason to book my next haircut in a month or less!

Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, Value Lisa is wonderful! I have thin hair and she made some suggestions I appreciated and even better, she listened to what I wanted. Not every stylist does that! Precautions were taken against COVID and my appointment was on time. Service: Haircut

It was my first visit! Tamera came highly recommended and she didn't disappoint. I instantly trusted her as she shared her vast knowledge and understanding of my hair within seconds. I was asking her for a lot. to fix a bad cut and she simply knocked or out of the park. What she did best was explain why she needed to do certain cuts which instantly puts you at ease. Needless to say I immediately booked two other appointments with her! She's awesome.

My hair has always been 'difficult' until I came here! Now it looks great. Several different stylists have cut my hair - they have all been excellent! They have taken the time to show me how to reproduce the style at home. I am always impressed with the coloring, as well. They pay careful attention to what look I want. This is great salon in their new terrific location.

Abby was simply amazing. She was incredibly patient with my 11 year daughter who had a million questions about coloring her hair green. Abby was so upbeat, knowledgeable, and talented. Her customer service was superior and her excitement for her work was evident. My daughter absolutely loves her hair color and is already excited to return. We will definitely share with everyone that Abby is an amazing person to see-a wonderful addition to a great salon!

I was looking for a new Salon when I moved to the area and Salon True was excellent. Lauren did a fantastic job on my hair. She was very friendly and welcoming for it being my first visit. Additionally she listed to what I wanted done and provided her recommendations for my hair type to make sure it turned out well. Very happy with my hair cut and overall experience!

Been getting my hair done here for years. It's like being part of a family. I have had a number of the stylists work on me and have not been disappointed with any of them. They always offer you drinks and snacks at your appointment. Thursday night appointments seem like happy hour. The whole staff tries to make everyone comfortable. My color has always been fantastic, and they are willing to suggest a new look/ cut when I start to get bored with my hair. Always been happy.

I went to Salon True in Sept 2018 for a trial bridal hair appointment. Shannon did my hair and while she was great and we ultimately found a hairstyle that worked for me, the salon was unresponsive when I tried reaching out to book them for the wedding day. I wasn't necessarily thrilled with the final hairstyle, the price (they charged me ~170 for a trial.total waste), or the ambiance of the salon, but it was a very convenient location and it would have been a quick five minute drive to my wedding venue.
I emailed and called on more than one occasion, but they were clearly not interested in my business. If you are going for a quick cut and style, you'll probably have a better experience than I did. Like I said, Shannon was great and worked with me during the trial, but everything else about my experience was awful.

I used to love them I did. However so many times I paid for my cut and color with tip and was not happy when I left. Sometimes it looked like they didn't do anything other times it looked like my hair was cut by my kid. I asked to not use a razor and by the time we got to the cut they forgot and it would Use the razor. I was always rushed around or ignored while waiting it felt clicky.
Everyone knew everyone and the whole life story of each other and despite going for years know one knew me and I felt unwelcome. They say you are getting a mainline cut and color for much cheaper not the case maybe 5 years ago but 130 plus tip is pretty high and on par with others in the area. I had it when I went for a root touch up and they tried to charge me over 100 dollars.
A receptionist who didn't even know me got aggressive and the owner had to come Over to intervene. Only to tell me I booked the wrong appointment and this confusion was my fault. How embarrassing as others heard the whole thing and no one apologized. I am sad to write this review because I loved salon true and made my appointments faithfully every 6-8 weeks, but I feel like they turned on me and turned on many clients.
It is clear by more recent reviews things have changed and not for the better. All that and you still have to pay for parking. My hope is they see this review and make some changes for the better. Anonym

Before I commence this review, I once loved and I mean LOVED going here. Tamera was hilarious and attentive. She gave me some nice color jobs and made the place welcoming despite the hectic hussle and bustle of all the stylists, guests, etc. With that out of the way, I will never go back. Why? Because customer service and poor quality coloring and styling nailed the coffin of me saying goodbye and good riddance.
My last hair appointment here was for taking grad photos as I was graduating from law school and that picture holds a super ton of value (as all grad photos do) and I was on a time crunch. Tamera was all booked up and I was pleding to see her as I don't live in the state because of schoool. I was told that a "stylist" Lisa Palandro who was trained and certified to be good enough by Tamera would do my hair.
All hell broke loose at this point: 1. She seemingly had no experience with curly hair. 2. She made a foreshadowing comment about the true reason I write this incredibly lengthy review that "Oh, you have so many piercings. I will try not to hurt you." 3. Color was not what I asked for and in the end Tamera had to mix it for her. To get to the #2 part.
She lost an expensive $250 earring. While she "washed my hair" (more like yanking it with shampoo) she dislodged an earring. I felt it come off but everything was such a rush because she was behind and needed to get me out that I thought "surely its my mind?" NOPE. She not only YANKED my hair, she YANKED OFF MY EARRING. An earring with a FLAT BACK that has a SCREW to secure it.
Please imagine the force this woman used while making my head uncomfortable (thankful for Advil). I messaged the Salon as no one was picking up for days about my situation. I got a generic "Oh we will look for it". Never heard back. No follow-up nothing. Because.? Why care about customer service or actually training your staff? Furthermore, it was expensive i.e. basically two visits to get your hair all done up there so maybe they thought "i can't give up my money!".
I don't know. I know that the earring went down the drain and no one even so much as apologized even when I said ow when it was yanked off. If you value anything about your aesthetic, hair, make up, jewlery whatever, STAY AWAY.

I loved my Salon True experience! It was so unique and I found the whole experience to be empowering. Do people say that after a haircut? I've never but it's the best way to describe their approach. I've heard so many good things about this Salon so I decided to try it out. When I walked in, the vibe was very positive; the front desk woman greeted me with a smile and made sure I got comfortable while I waited for my stylist. Tamera was right on time and sat me down in her chair for my consultation.
During that first 10 minutes, I knew I was in the right place. We discussed my current hair style and what I like/dislike about it; how my hair has changed over the years and my challenges with styling it during the different seasons of the year; the products I've used on my hair; my 'morning process' for getting ready; and my lifestyle.a must is being able to put my hair up after work to go for a run. Tamera then educated me on my hair.
I felt like I was in one of those makeover shows. I always knew I had fine hair and had given up on any possibility of volume but with the right cut and products, I could get it. We also discussed how the cut should complement the shape of my face and highest point on my head. This was all news to me. I thought I was just going to show her a picture of Kate Hudson and call it a day.instead I got a completely customized cut for my personality and lifestyle. That's why I started this review by saying the experience was empowering.
After the cut, I've found that I was easily able to recreate the look I had when I walked out of the salon. Ladies.we all know what I'm talking about here --you walk out of the salon looking awesome and then for the next 6-8 weeks, you struggle and fail to get that look again. Not this time! And, I've gotten so many compliments from friends and co-workers. I've had several people ask me for a referral to this salon and have sent my best friend here. That's my True Experience.

I love this place. I've been to many salons in my life. This is by far the best. Their customer service is outstanding and the prices are very reasonable. I see Sarah Cunningham and she is so talented. She helped me transition to gray and I love it! I read where someone else said the place is a gem on the Main Line but without the prices or the pretentiousness and that is so true. Just a lovely group of people who always make me feel comfortable and welcome.

After a nightmarish blonde highlight experience at another local salon (think brassy, Carrot Top orange), I called Salon True for help after reading all of the positive reviews. Not only was Lauren able to fit me in for an emergency color correction (and very soon after I called to schedule), but she completely neutralized the brassiness into bright, beautiful blonde highlights. Kirby then applied a toner to further nuke any sign of the orange mess and gave me a great blowdry afterwards. I'm so happy Salon True came to my (hair) rescue - I'll be returning for sure!

Ok, I have to first admit I have never actually had a service at this salon, BUT I met the amazing owner she was visiting DC l. T is a truly captivating and wonderful person. She is so warm gracious with a touch of sass and pinch of spunk. I imagine she brings this fun ambiance to her salon so I will definitely visit this salon next time I'm in Philly!

Last time I went (in March 2016) Katie was unavailable so I got a newer hairstylist - she was just OK. The cut itself I wasn't over-the-top with, but it was fine. I just didn't feel listened to - I said at the beginning not to blow it straight and to leave my hair curly/wavy, but then she started blowing it out anyway. The place is still classy and nice, just felt that my hairstylist wasn't experienced enough to be worth the price.

Thank you Brian for responding, however the facts are not quite correct. I think it would be best to leave your stylist, Sarah out the equation, as she really had very little to do with this incident. She knew I couldn't stay for a patch test, as I was on my lunch hour. She was kind, sweet and attentive. I had dry patches and scaling from bad color. Don't make it out to be a horror.
A patch test was scheduled and the apprentice was to then apply the color. I was called to say that could not be done and I was rescheduled with another stylist, after my patch test. That was confirmed. This is not about the quality of your products, the talent of your stylists, or the appeal of your salon. This was simply a communication error between you and your scheduling staff and the customer which was poorly handled.
Please just use this as constructive criticism and not so much as a personal affront and a power struggle. Next time you may handle it differently. It just wasn't meant to be.

I recently moved to the area, and left my favorite hairdresser behind. I was worried about finding a new salon, but I wanted to go local, so after some Yelp-searching, I ended up calling Salon True because of their stellar reviews. I got a very cute short cut, and blow dry style from Ashley who is a part-timer at the salon. I got loads of compliments from friends.
I really like my new do. The salon itself is modern, comfortable, clean and organized. It's right on the main strip in Ardmore, so it's very convenient as well. I'll definitely be back!

My update: Almost a year later and I am STILL so so happy about my decision to come to Salon True. The personable staff makes you really feel at home in this salon, which is definitely important. Shannon is still my stylist, and she has yet to disappoint me! Last night I wanted a 'blonder' ombre. I brought in several photos and was WOWED by the end result!
As a natural brunette who has had highlights and ombre, this is the blondest I have ever been yet it looks SO natural. Which can be hard to do! I was so excited leaving the salon and couldn't wait to show it off. I've already had so many compliments and I've had people ask what salon I go to! Thank you Shannon & Salon True for making me LOVE my hair!
