Charmaine's Bella & Colour

I had booked an express spray tan 3 weeks In advance for 10am this morning for myself and my mother in law. We arrived at the salon at 9.45 and was told to take a seat, 5 mins later I received a txt message to say that my appointment had been moved until 11am which we couldn't do as we are going to the hotel for my sister in laws wedding. When i replied saying this I got told that the girl who we were booked in for was on holiday despite receiving a confirmation txt and email the day before.

The fact that I was not contacted in advance to allow me to make other arrangements shows poor management and customer care. I would definitely not book again in fear of being let down. I have never left a bad review before for anything but I don't want anyone else being in this position.

Charmaine is amazing and never fails to give me the most amazing hair, I have been going to charmaine for nearly 8 years and wouldn't go anywhere else, she fits me in early mornings late nights and always accommodates! Seen the review below I was actually in the salon when the water had cut out due to no fault of charmaine this was a Scottish water issue where the row of shops all had no water charmaine made sure my colour was rinsed buying bottles water heating it with kettles and going above and beyond she had clients in the salon with chemicals on their head which had to be removed before a cut and blow dry which is why the client below couldn't be done x

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND HER! I'm not one for posting negative reviews but this called for it. After her cancelling my initial appointment for styling so last minute which left me having to run around to find a stylist to do my hair for a friend's wedding so last minute. I had a strong feeling she would cancel on me as she messaged the night before to confirm my appt and bare in mind the clubs opened that same night so surprise surprise the next morning I received a text message to say she has had to cancel the appt due to a 'leak' in her flat.

She offered to return my deposit and give me a voucher for the same. Deposit was never returned. I did however ask for a cut and blow dry to which she declined. But as I hadn't received my deposit I messaged a month later and she then offered a cut and blow dry voucher instead and the deposit she keeps. I agreed and tried to arrange an appt for this.

We agreed a date and time. On the day, I arrived for my appt and she acted oblivious as to what I was doing there. She then said oh I had cancelled the appt on my end as the water is cold and a plumber is yet to come out. I received no message no email of appt having been cancelled. Wasted my time yet again! Truly unprofessional. If you can cancel the appt on your end on your system then it literally takes seconds to message and advise your client the situation.

It's basic common courtesy! Would NEVER recommend her to ANYONE! And I'm still waiting for my deposit to be returned. Very quick on taking the deposit to secure an appt but on the other hand extremely unprofessional at the common courtesy of returning it back!
