Services
Your Tecnicolors haircut starts with an image consultation to determine your perfect style and a diagnosis of your scalp's anatomy and hair texture to find the shampoo and conditioner that will best deliver truly healthy hair. Then you relax in our European backwash station and receive a stress-relieving scalp massage as we cleanse and nourish your hair with Aveda and Bumble & Bumble shampoos, conditioners, masks and treatments.

Hunter was super nice and really did a great job accommodating me. Although we couldn't achieve what I'd initially wanted, we went a different route and I was still very satisfied. However, one small thing did make me slightly uncomfortable. There was another stylist working who was speaking to her client and I could overhear them both speaking about me (we were the only people in there).
She (the stylist) said "they just come in with these ideas off the internet and they're just so naive about the whole process". She continued on to keep discussing how I'd brought in a picture and how stupid it was for me to think I could get that done. I just felt a little nervous and it slightly hurt my feelings. Telling me we can't attain a look because of previous dye not lifting is fine.
But another stylist talking to her client about it right next to me? It just made the experience a little less comfortable. I don't know her name, I just remember she was tall and slim with red hair. I feel like that kind of "salon gossip" should stop at talking badly about another client when they're in the same room only a few chairs away. I probably won't be back just because of that, but Hunter really was super nice and patient and did a great job.

I felt like they didn't want to deal with anyone. Due to covid, i ask if I can come in for and she took a sec to check and said she is booked! Then I asked for a range for a price of color, and told her details. she wouldn't give me that and I had to come in to know the price. Just felt not welcomed.

I've had keratin bond extensions off and on for about a decade as done by my stylist friend in Chicago. I'd gotten them out about 6 months before the pandemic hit (thank goodness because no one in Gainesville does those!), and in October 2020 decided I wanted extensions again. I'd seen Techicolors' site before and researched the extensions they use and booked a consultation with Duane.
He made me feel very comfortable and thoroughly explained how the copper links work in comparison to the keratin bonds I'd been accustomed to. We chose the colors I wanted and a couple of weeks later he put them in for me. I have purplish red hair with pink and purple fun colors mixed in. Duane was fast, and did an amazing job. I get compliments on my hair all the time, and I lost way less extensions over the course of the months I wore them than I ever had with the keratin bonds!
He just took them out and put them back in for me recently, even fitting me in earlier than he really had space for because of a wedding I had coming up. The extensions are awesome, as is the custom color, and Duane will be doing my mom's blue hair when she moves to Gainesville soon. While I was in the salon, I was able to see some of the other stylists applying the other vibrant and "fun" colors to other clients, and everyone is very professional and their work is incredible. Duane has amazing stories to tell and is friendly and warm, besides being incredibly talented! So happy I opted to come here!

I had another amazing appointment with Koral and she is my absolute #1 pick! She is a true professional and a perfectionist! She will work hard until she is 100% satisfied with the outcome! She is very creative with fashion colors and fantastic with balayages/ombres. She is always able to fix any problems (trust me, I created a few) and has always given me really good advice on colors, products, and haircuts (and I can be picky). She is the absolute best! I've been going to Tecnicolors off and on for years and have always been happy with the cuts and various chemical processes I've had done there. I was recently amazed when my current stylist, Brian, helped me go back to my natural dark auburn color from a very white platinum. My hair was long and this color change is challenging for even a master colorist. Brian exceeded my expectations in every way, while being wise enough to temper them before we proceeded. There's a lot of skill in this salon and every time I've gone somewhere else I've been disappointed.

I came to Tecnicolor for Angela when she moved here about a year ago. She is the best stylist I've ever had and I would get my hair cut in an alley if she were the one doing the job. Angela has moved on now to Lucidity at Elegance Studio. Tecnicolors was pleasant enough while she was there. It has nice sunlight and is in a convenient location downtown. I wish them luck even though I am following Angela on to her new place.
