We are a salon devoted to seeing your individuality and giving it style and beauty that is true to you. Who we are- Established in 2006, Salon Saloon is an innovative and one of a kind hair Salon and Brewery, tucked back on the Boardman River in Traverse City, Michigan. The salon gives the warehouse overlooking the river a big city style with an urban feel, while the brewery brings an organic energy.
Right Brain Brewery is the premier northern Michigan brewery/bar and Traverse City, Michigan's only micro-brewery. We operate a 7 bbl system in our facility (on the premises) in the newly developing Traverse City in the Sofo District. Right Brain Brewery connects to Salon Saloon and it's often difficult to know where one ends and the other begins. Right Brain usually has 12 beers on tap, but it depends on the day and the thirst of the people.
Salon Saloon stylists dug deep to show the range of hair trends and fun styles from the roaring 20's thru awesomely bad 80's. For kicks and giggles there was a "beehive" contest that gave crowd members the opportunity to vote for their favorite style for $1. Right Brain matched this amount and all proceeds went to benefit the Women's Resource Center.

I made an appointment last week for 1 PM today. I arrived at 12:56 and was told that my stylist wasn't in yet. At 1 o'clock I asked if they thought he would be there soon and was told that he typically runs late. It was the manager I was speaking to, she said he normally is about 10 minutes late. I was looking forward to being cordially welcomed and instead was expected to sit and wait for Travis to get there and set up and then I would get my haircut. I left. This was my first appointment at the salon. Surprised they get return customers when this is the way a new customer is treated.

Unbelievably disappointing! Meghan butchered my hair, then asked another stylist who was off the clock to finish it. He butchered the rest to the point of no return. Contact with owner was even more frustrating. Without even meeting me or seeing what her employees did to my hair, she was defensive and stood by the employees story. Refused to make time to meet with me, stating her clients and her family took priority. STAY AWAY! plenty of other legitimate hair salons in TC where u will be treated with respect. #disgusted

I recently got married in TC and the stylists at Salon Saloon took care of my bridal party and my wedding-day hair. Everyone looked so fantastic, the service was excellent, the environment relaxed and comfortable. It wasn't a "stuck up" salon environment.very casual, but still exceptionally professional work.
