Grotto Hair Studio

Definitely check out The Grotto! It's a cute salon tucked away. Everyone is so nice and the stylists all look genuinely happy. They are also taking COVID-19 very seriously, requiring temperature checks and hand washing upon walk-in. Staff are wearing gloves, masks, eye protection and thoroughly sanitizing everything. I definitely feel safe when I am coming in for my appointments.

If you have to book with anyone, check out Jess. Jess is amazing! After a decade of dying my hair jet black, I decided to join the light side. Jess was very transparent with the process and all the steps involved. She explained everything she was doing in between the fun banter! She made sure the integrity of my hair was in tact and somehow after the lengthy chemical process my hair feels healthier than it did. I appreciate the care and work she did on my hair, she is now my go-to gal!

Ana cut my 13 yo daughter's hair and it's adorable! She asked lots of questions and made it easy and fun.

First time going to The Grotto in Bellingham. Live in Mount Vernon and chose to travel farther to find a hairstylist that I would want to go back to. I met with Karly Lane, my new stylist. She was very interested in what kind of look and style I wanted. She examined my current haircut and noted how to make it much nicer and blended. And then she started her styling.

She took her time, made sure my hair was just as I envisioned and hoped for. I am sooooo pleased with Karly's gift of hairstyling. She is so kind, pleasant and easy to share with. Karly now has a new client for all my future hair cuts!

They are safety conscious against covid very delightful to deal with fair price and great hair stylists. Emily is my hair stylist. She does great work. She really listens to you!

Emily is fantastic! Always returns my call for an appointment super fast, and able to schedule me super soon! She is friendly, knowledgeable, and I always walk out after my appointments feeling like a million bucks! Definitely plan to use her as my main, go-to stylist for colors & cuts! Amazing job on my bangs too! She's a keeper! Highly recommend! And a really cool salon, too! Glad I found it!

Karly is hands down one of the best stylists I've ever had! I've had so many great hair colors with her and she's always so great to talk to and not like other stylists I've had where the conversation feels very forced or routine. I recently tried out a different color that I ended up being slightly apprehensive about and when I mentioned that she took me back in and completely transformed my hair.

I felt awful for not being a fan of the color once it was on my hair but she made me feel so comfortable and at ease that it was not a problem and she'd get it fixed! She even gave me some silver shampoo and conditioner to take home to keep it fresh and ashy. I would recommend her to absolutely everybody as she's truly such an amazing stylist, as well as she is the owner of the salon!

I moved from the NY area and was worried about being able to keep up my trendy hair cut. Not to worry! Ana had my back! (And my head). She had the patience to listen to what I wanted and the skill to pull it off beautifully. My only hesitation in making this positive review is that she becomes too popular to get an appointment. But never fear; I liked the looks of what the other stylists did, too.

I got balayage done with Abigail last weekend and it looks gorgeous! She got my grey out and made my hair look vibrant again with the lighter caramel colors. Total 180. I'm new to the area and this was way better than the "upscale salon" I was going to in San Diego. She definitely knows what she is doing and she is so good that she can even do it in the dark! I know because the power went out while I was there.

This place is amazing. The atmosphere is chic yet relaxing and the stylists are the best of the best. I was lucky enough to have an appointment with Abby, and all I can say is.wow! I am extremely particular about my hair and she did it just the way I like it. Her personality and skill set is amazing and I look forward to my next hair cut! Stephanie is the best! She is amazingly talented and constantly pulling off great cuts, colors, and styles. I have been seeing her for years and am never dissatisfied. My hair looks and feels healthier than it ever has, and I am constantly getting compliments on it. Plus, a color and a wax while processing, sign me up! I love that I can knock two things out at once. And I always have a great time while I'm there. I would highly recommend a visit with her!.
