I made my appointment with Caitlin for roots and highlights. The process was done incorrectly as the paper foil moved thus leaving marks in my hair. I did not noticed it immediately until I got home. I called the same day and I scheduled an appointment the following week to get it corrected. Instead of correcting the problem, it became worse as they did not eliminated the marks.

They made my bangs yellow and upon arriving home I noticed that my hair was burned. At the end of the appointment, she attended another client without checking on me to see if I was satisfied or if the original problem was fixed. In fact, it was worse. I don't recommend

I go consistently not only because they always provide an impeccable haircut but they are extremely professional. They actually make you feel like family. I would recommend this salon to anyone who is looking to get the best hair service in NYC.

These people know what they're doing! Every single person I interacted with was an expert in their own field, from colorists to hair washers to blow dryers. I was thrilled with the way my hair turned out and it is mainly because they listen, they truly make an effort to understand your needs and they apply their expertise to give you the best alternative for your desired result. I will definitely be coming back.

I love Timothy Johns Salon! Caitlin is the best. She is extremely attentive and always spends time with me figuring out what I want, but then giving her professional opinion and putting it all to life even better than imagined. The salon itself is super clean and chic and everyone is very friendly. I wish I could give more than 5 stars!

This is by far the best haircut you can get in NYC! I've been living here for about 8 years, and Timothy John Salon is my favorite place that I've found. The staff is super friendly, organized, and on time, and I always enjoy getting my haircut here. I've gone to Timothy John a few times over the past two months to get my hair cut and colored by Gabriel, and he nails the color, cut, and style that I want every single time.

I've gotten so many compliments about my hair color, and it's a testament to how amazing Gabriel is at his job. Definitely ask for Gabriel for any hair cut and coloring needs -- he's fantastic!

This was my worse experience! When looking at the good reviews, I expected to have great results. After spending 7 hours in this hair dye process, I left the salon $300 short with fried, string cheese, hair. My hair was falling apart in chunks, and the employees along with my hairdresser had the audacity to ask me if I "liked it" while they were all side eyeing each other and whispering clearly having the knowledge that my hair was completely destroyed.

Along with this horrendous atmosphere and garbage customer service, my hairdresser did not even cut my hair as she promised. I also have piercings on my ears in a healing process so I asked my hairdresser to not hit my ears and be more gentle for this case. it's like she didn't even hear me because by the time I left my ears were inflamed, red, and throbbing(keeping in mind that my piercings were fine when I arrived).

The story doesn't end here. when rinsing my hair the hairdresser used ice-cold water when it's already so freezing outside, the water was also showering down my back so my shirt was soaked. Since my hair was being dyed black in some parts of the hairstyle I asked for, my hairdresser managed to be extremely sloppy and get BLACK DYE ON MY FACE! That's absolutely unprofessional and a sign of lack of experience. complete amateur.

For the cherry on top, my stylist did not even blowout and style my hair before I leave to finish the look. This experience was utterly disgusting and disappointing. I wish there was a 0 stars option because this salon doesn't deserve the slightest based on the crime scene committed on my head. Don't ever go there!

I have walked past this salon for years now as it's on my street and have always noticed how full it always is. I usually go to my local barber shop but recently decided to try and grow my curly hair out a bit. I called day of to see if they would take walk ins and thankfully they were able to accommodate me as I have a wedding this coming weekend.

The check in process was smooth and it is clearly ran like a well oiled machine. My hair looked like a mop and Gabriel worked his magic. He left me feeling great about my hair, made the experience very pleasant and I appreciated the professional yet relaxed vibe. I highly recommend Gabriel and the salon to any guys who want to upgrade from a barber shop. The attention to detail was outstanding!

Very nice first experience at this salon, Gabriel did my haircut and single process color was great with his advices and Im very happy with my transition from blonde to brunette. I like this salon very much. The atmosphere is calm and positive. Everyone is respectful and professional. Gracey was amazing! She did a beautiful job with my hair! She fixed my color and gave my balayage more body and luminosity. She was also very attentive and kind. Thank you!

Went here to turn from blond to Brunette for my wedding I wanted 1 color I told the hair stylist I was worried that some parts would be lighter than others and she said no worries they will get an even tone. She had to repeat the process because some parts where lighter than others. After reapplying my color she went off to attend another costumer and the receptionist finished washing and drying my hair who sprayed some chemical for my hair directly on my eye!

They left dye on my ears and forehead not the best of experience and on top of that they don't give you an option for tipping they simply overcharge you an automatic 25% they honestly did not deserve 25% tip. I was so excited because of the great reviews but I did not leave impressed. The receptionist said to come back tomorrow if I still felt there was something wrong with my hair. I am getting Married Friday I don't have time for do overs get my hair right from the start they had 2 hours to get it right.
